Excellent piece from John Simon on Howard Kissel:

Danise, just finished watching
First of all, you look fabulous - love your hair
Secondly, I knew your story, but hearing it again, really made me tear up
Thirdly, No one deserves the surprise on the show more than you
Fourthly, You hugged Anderson....I'm jealous :)
Fifthly, How cool that you also have the real Angie of Angie's list in your corner.
DR Danise, while I think I was wise to tell you to expect nothing the show beyond an appearance, I am thrilled that you came out a winner in several ways! The next NYC dinner is on you!If would have known about the money I would have insisted on paying this time but that is a firm promise. And I WILL come back to NY. I have no doubt of that now. :) I so enjoyed our talk. You helped to keep me steady when I really needed to just have someone to talk to.
Thursday morning greetings!I'm still in shock!Danise, just finished watching

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, and (most of all) Ditto!!!
In ENCHANTED, Susan Sarandon's character describes NYC as a "place where there are no happy endings" and this segment flies right in the face of that statement. I am so thrilled for our dear DR Danise and Anderson Cooper has a brand new fan here in SW Ohio.
Can't wait to watch it later, Danise. Glad the trip and the whole experience went well for you.Thank you DR John G.
Wonderful things DO happen, Danise, and I'm glad they happened to you this time.I can't wait to see what they are going to do room wise for the washer and drier. There is no way those would fit in the house the way it is now. Did you see how big they were?
I hoped they'd put things right...and hopefully Angie's List will do just that for you!
i'm so happy for you, Danise. May this be the start of a wonderful year for you, you deserve it.Thank you!
i'm so happy for you, Danise. May this be the start of a wonderful year for you, you deserve it.Thank you. I still can't believe it. And that it just came out of the blue is what is amazing.
It aired this morning in my area. It's also online.
Flashback to the Oscars and the incomplete (and highly edited) "In Memoriam" segment.Tura Satana alone makes that whole thing ludicrous. "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" is at the top of my all-time fave list, and she's the kitten with the sharpest claws.
Every year, Oscar pays final respects to departed actors/actresses/technicians, etc., and EVERY year they leave someone out. Granted, some folks may seem "minor" to those decision-makers hard-pressed to schedule an event that should last one hour into a three-hour slot, but their failures do not go unnoticed. Danise's Surprise (http://www.andersoncooper.com/2012/02/29/anderson-on-your-side-danises-surprise/)
Well, folks, my mother has all but admitted that she's no longer to go to the grocery on the retirement community bus, so Richard and I are off to take her shopping this afternoon. Bye for now!

OK, I'm also surprised at Harry Morgan, Michael Sarazin and quite a few others, too.

Warning for all DRs watching DR Danise's segment. Get your tissues ready! At the bottom of the clip it says that they gave a washer/dryer and $10K. But it did not say that they were going to also try to fix the mess. That is so fantastic. I really had tears rolling down my cheek. Such wonderful news.
Danise, vis a vis crying (and this is only partially a joke): remember you'll have to pay taxes on all of these gifts. Set a little bit aside for that.

I was wondering if they told you about the taxes. If you have someone do your taxes for you, I'd talk to them to see what you should set aside for next year. Maybe you have enough withheld that it will even out, but it's worth checking on while you have money in hand.

They did leave out a shocking number of people in the In Memorium and I actually don't think I knew about Tura - maybe I did, but I can't remember. Here is Miss Satana and I at one of the Ray Courts Hollywood Celebrity shows, in the days when it was fun.

I haven't. Just asking if you knew of him.
Hi all so what did you think? I'm getting tons of phone calls from everyone at work and my friends down here. Thelma is thrilled!
Mr. Cooper is a very nice man. Lovely eyes and I got to look at them the whole time I was on stage. It helped keep me from being scared of being in front of all those people.
I was told they had a viewing party down at work as well. I do kinda wish the should would have aired next week so I could have been there but there was no way I could go to work today after everything.

Very shocking!!!!
Why is it that every time I see ths new Liquid Plumber Double Impact commercial I think of DR MBarnum?
One Million Moms (the same group that thinks Ellen DeGeneres is helping to destroy American values) are against the commercial so it can't be all bad. I do admit that it is quite over the top for broadcast television but since OMM has begun a campaign against it, I'm all for it!!! Apparently this is the full commercial. The one being broadcast is only 30 seconds and heavily edited.

I'm waiting for DR Danise's video to load. I'm very excited. Thanks for the link DR Ben.I am curous what you mean by you are waiting for it to load. Don' you just press play and view it? I hope there are different rules if it is a gift vs winning a prize.
And did I mention the bad face lifts?;D
And the word of the day is: SAGACITY!
DVR is set to record The DR Danise Show with that Anderson Little guy.
I will have to miss JUDGE JUDY today in order to watch ANDERSON COOPER - but I am sure it will be worth it.
Thanks again to all for the vibes for my brother in law - he starts his chemotherapy today, so we shall see what happens.
I was watching 360 (his other show) while waiting at the airport and was in shock that I just sat next to that man a few hours before. Horrible about all those tornados and I also can't believe that on one of the happiest days of my life, Davy Jones dies.
Once again, Thank you all. I didn't mean to make anyone cry but I was really crying on set when it happened. I never expected it. It's so hard to believe that was just about 24 hours ago.

I am so so happy reading about your Anderson Cooper experience, DR Danise! You so deserve this!
About the humongous washer and dryer: maybe you can contact Frigidair and ask them if they could gift you with smaller models instead? I would think they would be willing to accommodate you.
And Im wondering if you are liable for taxes on them since they are a gift and you didn't win them (there mIght still be state taxes, though)

I need to find a bookcase about 21 inches wide and seven feet tall!
I love THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: the plots make no sense even when they're not verging on the assinine and ridiculous, no one can act, and the actors are completely lost because their characters have no sense of reality. After catching 30 minutes of its dreck, I feel so superior.

Just saw DR DANISE on the show. It was wonderful. You did great DR DANISE....and you looked great. That's a beautiful set, too! And of course there is Mr Anderson himself.
Thanks to DR TCB and DR MBARNUM......I have yet to hear how today went.

Bruce I thought you have a driveway to park in.
No driveway to speak of, Jane.I thought you had enough for you car to fit. Too bad about that. At least they moved the cars.

Perhaps the Academy has something against drug addicts. This year they left out Jeff Conaway and last year Corey Haim.
Well you all know I loved DARK SHADOWS.
DR Danise it has been wonderful having you back where you belong. Please don't leave us again. We of course want all the updates on the house & appliances.
Well, folks, my mother has all but admitted that she's no longer to go to the grocery on the retirement community bus, so Richard and I are off to take her shopping this afternoon. Bye for now!
Has she been banned from the bus??

Has she been banned from the bus??
Oh, dear, I should have said she's no longer able to go on the bus. Last time she did, the nice driver had to catch her twice to keep her from falling. Plus, she doesn't see well and doesn't process info very fast and has trouble accomplishing much in the limited time they have. Today, I pushed her in a wheelchair and Richard pushed a shopping cart and she did $170 worth of shopping. Looks like we'll do that at least once a month from now on.

Darn! It's lunch time, so I'll go home and check it out. :-\
I agree that I hope Danise is now back with us - she was missed. And speaking of missed - where in tarnation is Jose? Has anyone heard from the dear boy?
It sounds safer if you and Richard take her. It is nice you live so close & are retired.

A Cautionary Tale for Actors Department: I was rather surprised yesterday whilst watching Judge Judy to see a Rosacea commercial (for a cure, not the disease, LOL) which suddenly had the face of a good friend of ours, a former news anchor here who worked with Betsy (and who has been in several episodes of PORTLANDIA), emblazoned across the screen, covered in ugly red rashes (which I know she doesn't have). Betsy PMd her on Facebook and it turns out she had done some sort of shoot last year for a stock footage company that in turn sold the footage to the commerical house, which froze a frame of this lady's face and digitally added the Rosacea. All that, and no residuals. ;)
DR Danise it has been wonderful having you back where you belong. Please don't leave us again. We of course want all the updates on the house & appliances.Yes hopefully now that you have a bit less stress you will be able to stick around. I did watch the whole ANDERSON show. It was very emotional. I felt so bad for the woman who had her baby stolen from her. I almost lost it when she said her other son would sleep in the closet cause he was afraid he would be taken too. I am glad that she at least gets to see her child now. I hope she gets full custody of the baby and that the court does something to the baby's father. Loved seeing the rest of DR Danise. Excellent show.

Thank you DR Jane. I won't leave. I'm so sorry I was gone for so long. I spoke with DR Elmore about it and I think he understands the why. It's just so hard to keep posting about bad things that are happening. I just didn't want to keep bringing everyone down. At the time it was all I could do to just go to work and come home. I really didn't want to talk to anyone--all I wanted to lose myself in Farmville or watch some TV and then go to bed. I just couldn't wrap my mind around anything else.

Just watched DR Danise on Anderson Cooper and OMG!!! The washer and dryer are HUGE!!! I think you could do all the laundry in your neighborhood in one load!We joked about that because Anderson Cooper said I could fit in one of them. I told the producer I could start my own laundry mat and make a few bucks on the side. Then I joked about trying to get them on the plane. I don't know if I could have had them checked. They might have been a tad bit over the weight limit! :)

Bummer!! Try requesting to be on a wait list for a cancellation.
The morning I had the pin put in my wrist my surgery was moved up due to a cancellation. Of course DR TCB would at least need an evenings notice in order to fast.I hope that works.
Finally finishing Hitchcock's stage-bound version of "Juno and the Paycock." So depressing. And I have no sympathy whatsoever for the Paycock. In fact, he irritates me to the point that it has made the movie almost unbearable. That may have been the point, but entertaining it ain't.
You know, I might enjoy it in another production. I just didn't care for the movie. I love "Juno and the Paycock!" I saw the Abbey Theatre production in Manhattan about 15 years ago. Yes, he is an irritating character; he and Joxer are two of Juno's crosses she bears. That play does pile on the unhappiness.
Tonight I watched Anna Faris, whom I love, in WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER. I laughed a lot.
Bruce, why are you leaving Vitello's? Do you have another venue lined up?
I finished "Benjamin Kritzer" today-- I loved it! Looking forward to "Kritzerland."
I am so glad that I am seeing the whole episode. Thank you, George, for doing the homework.

So I was looking up more royalty free Corman movies and happened upon "The Wasp Woman" and saw this: The film's musical score, written by Fred Katz, was originally written for A Bucket of Blood. According to Mark Thomas McGee, author of Roger Corman: The Best of the Cheap Acts, each time Katz was called upon to write music for Corman, Katz sold the same score as if it were new music. The score was used in a total of seven films, including The Little Shop of Horrors and Creature from the Haunted Sea.
