I need to find a bookcase about 21 inches wide and seven feet tall!

I love THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: the plots make no sense even when they're not verging on the assinine and ridiculous, no one can act, and the actors are completely lost because their characters have no sense of reality. After catching 30 minutes of its dreck, I feel so superior.

There must be a whole lot of pretty on it to keep you watching it each day!

Nothing of the sort.  Have you seen the options for afternoon tv?

Just saw DR DANISE on the show.  It was wonderful.  You did great DR DANISE....and you looked great.  That's a beautiful set, too!  And of course there is Mr Anderson himself.

Thanks to DR TCB and DR MBARNUM......I have yet to hear how today went.

DR JRand61, I believe they're taping in the Jazz at LincolnCenter Space which is a great cabaret venue. The window looks out on Broadway. I saw Rebecca Luker sing there last year.

Oh great!  Anderson's Show starring Danise is scheduled for two o'clock, but they are broadcasting the memorial service for our state trooper that was killed last week.
It's on line as well so you will see the gist of it.

I guess I will have to settle for the clip online, since this memorial service is going to be on for a long time.  We haven't even gotten to the Governor yet.

George, you may be recording the Trooper Tony memorial service.

Darn!  It's lunch time, so I'll go home and check it out. :-\

Bruce I thought you have a driveway to park in.

I think he does but he doesn't like to park there. I forget why.

I am, of course, sorry for the loss of our State Trooper, but couldn't they have picked a different time for his memorial?

Our favorite troublemaker was trying to make trouble again on the FSM board - I'm very sure she's here right now making sure I'm talking about her - she failed, naturally.

I'm finally listening to the new recording of Follies.  Not my style, I have to say, but this seems to be what people want these days - small, tiny-sounding dry as dirt recording ambience.  It's like a radio drama - I miss Goddard Lieberson.  The trick with cast albums is to get the cast to replicate their performances and make it work for the ear.  What you don't want is for them to suddenly act like they're doing a tiny little intimate film because it sucks the theatricality out of everything.  This is THEATRE, not radio.

In the last two days we had about 5 inches of snow.  The sun came out today & most of the snow has melted off the trees.

I was watching for an ebook to become available from the library.  I got lucky & one on my wish list just became available.  I'm now going to read THE LAST GENTLEMAN by Walter Percy.

Flashback to the Oscars and the incomplete (and highly edited) "In Memoriam" segment.

Every year, Oscar pays final respects to departed actors/actresses/technicians, etc., and EVERY year they leave someone out.   Granted, some folks may seem "minor" to those decision-makers hard-pressed to schedule an event that should last one hour into a three-hour slot, but their failures do not go unnoticed.  Click below to see who was....

LEFT OUT

A few of the omissions are shocking to me.

Very shocking!!!!

Perhaps the Academy has something against drug addicts.  This year they left out Jeff Conaway and last year Corey Haim.

I have to agree about the drug thing.  Many people in the entertainment and religious communities tend to ignore deaths that are drug related, or booze or whatever.  Maybe they would go away.  Although they included Whitney....

Well, folks, my mother has all but admitted that she's no longer to go to the grocery on the retirement community bus, so Richard and I are off to take her shopping this afternoon.  Bye for now!

Has she been banned from the bus??

Oh, dear, I should have said she's no longer able to go on the bus.  Last time she did, the nice driver had to catch her twice to keep her from falling.  Plus, she doesn't see well and doesn't process info very fast and has trouble accomplishing much in the limited time they have.  Today, I pushed her in a wheelchair and Richard pushed a shopping cart and she did $170 worth of shopping.  Looks like we'll do that at least once a month from now on.

It sounds safer if you and Richard take her.  It is nice you live so close & are retired.

They're available, DR TCB, but she's opted out and prefers to fend for herself.  In her words, "If I had to eat downstairs all the time, I'd GAG."  She can purchase dinner tickets and does eat with her friends from time to time and she told me today that she's considering getting Meals On Wheels a couple of days a week.

DR Ginny, she may not be eligible for Meals on Wheels. My mother was not because I lived nearby and could fix her meals. If your mom lives in a place that serves meals, she may not qualify.

DR Laura, my aunt who died in June lived in the same complex and received MoW and several of Mom's friends do, too.  Not sure of the particulars, but something tells me I'll find out soon...
