And the word of the day is: VELOCE!
LOVED the Smoke House! No joke. My kind of place, all the way. And of course the company was superb. Thank you, BK, for a great get-together.
Greetings from Toyland! We have power.
I'm up. I must get my clothes organized now for my over-nighter across the bay. When I return, there will be no more Frankenguest. Who, this morning at 4:00am, was making quite the racket and woke up 2 of the 3 sleeping dogs, the 3rd one was already awake. It was quite annoying. As I've said before, he's a hot mess and we'll be glad to get rid of him, hoping to never see him again.
Your regulars? On Facebook?
Thanks, George, for the Wicked update. I remember Reva on Guiding Light; that was when I was beginning to tune the show out, but still I remember her as being fun to watch.
Also, while I don't like the cast album, I would like to see Wicked someday. I think the visuals and the story would make up for a lot.
Best news out of the national conference I just attended in Indianapolis: In 2 years the national conference will be in Portland, Oregon! I'm gonna start planning our fly/drive PNW vacation as soon as we get back from England!

Fantastic! I hope I live that long!
I made recordings of the three new songs and those have been sent to the musical director so he can do the piano tracks and lead sheets.

Oh yes, I love Angela Lansbury!

Ginny, do have a football game to watch today?
Oh, yes, a biggie! And the momentum just shifted to Michigan - Go, Blue!

That was a joke, of course. Naturally, on MURDER SHE WROTE it was Jessica Simpson.

The theme of the herb market this year was the rose. Here's a particularly fragrant one, though the camera hasn't learned how to share aromas yet. Still, it was very pretty.
Pandemonium in Ann Arbor!

Field Goal, Michigan! 12-10, Michigan, with 5 seconds left!
For fun, I went to Google and put in "great donuts - san fernando valley - i immediately got several sites to look at where that question had been asked. While the answers were varied, there was one constant: K's Donuts. There wasn't a person who didn't recommend it. As you know, I've been on the hunt for a great donut place in the Valley.
So, first I went to Fast Frame to have my Reginald Marsh watercolor framed, and from there I went directly to K's, which was only moments away at Ventura and Beverly Glen in a little strip mall that also houses what is apparently the best foot massage place in the Valley. Well, they were right. I got an apple fritter and, more amazingly, a donut filled with whipped cream with chocolate on the top. There is no other donut place in the Valley that has whipped cream inside a donut, and that is one of my favorite things.
I brought them home and they were GREAT.
And then, since I was sated with donuts (I'd only had bacon and eggs at nine-thirty) I decided to watch something called The Hunger Games. I know the books are wildly popular, but I hope they're better than this film is so far. There's not one original thing in this movie - is there in the books? Not like we haven't had this kind of story many times.
There were several donut shops in the 1970s that had donuts filled with whipped cream, but they disappeared and its been over two decades since I've had one. It was GREAT. I will now have to be VERY careful about not overdoing it. :)
I am going to bed. I'm tired.
Well, that would be a VERY healthy run of about a three-and-a half mile jog, maybe a bit more. And then there's the matter of getting home.
Ginny is barely hanging in there due to lack of sleep.
I believe Ginny forgot to sign out.
I love that the manager at the restaurant (BK's dinner) came over to ask about the sandwich.
Since the Michigan/Michigan State game ended, I've had a phone call from my Mom making sure I'm not having another heart attack and a text message from my friend Becky that says, "YES!!!"

I got through about 20 minutes of EAT, PRAY, LOVE, thinking I'd like the movie more than I liked the book. Back to Big 10 football.
Vixmom is still working for Mr. Scrooge until 7:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Cilla was probably doing yard work and has now collapsed.
John is busy stuffing his face at some food contest.
