I love that the manager at the restaurant (BK's dinner) came over to ask about the sandwich.
Since the Michigan/Michigan State game ended, I've had a phone call from my Mom making sure I'm not having another heart attack and a text message from my friend Becky that says, "YES!!!"
For fun, I went to Google and put in "great donuts - san fernando valley - i immediately got several sites to look at where that question had been asked. While the answers were varied, there was one constant: K's Donuts. There wasn't a person who didn't recommend it. As you know, I've been on the hunt for a great donut place in the Valley. So, first I went to Fast Frame to have my Reginald Marsh watercolor framed, and from there I went directly to K's, which was only moments away at Ventura and Beverly Glen in a little strip mall that also houses what is apparently the best foot massage place in the Valley. Well, they were right. I got an apple fritter and, more amazingly, a donut filled with whipped cream with chocolate on the top. There is no other donut place in the Valley that has whipped cream inside a donut, and that is one of my favorite things. I brought them home and they were GREAT.
And then, since I was sated with donuts (I'd only had bacon and eggs at nine-thirty) I decided to watch something called The Hunger Games. I know the books are wildly popular, but I hope they're better than this film is so far. There's not one original thing in this movie - is there in the books? Not like we haven't had this kind of story many times.
Well, that would be a VERY healthy run of about a three-and-a half mile jog, maybe a bit more. And then there's the matter of getting home.
I got through about 20 minutes of EAT, PRAY, LOVE, thinking I'd like the movie more than I liked the book. Back to Big 10 football.
