The local critic didn't care much for the new Brad Ellis musical. That's the same poltroon who reviewed your local stop of the "Peter Pan" tour. Sounds like he needs find something he's more interested in than theater.

I also enjoyed the CABARET notes.....
I tell you, I had weird, non-stop dreams last night.Have you read "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and the Undead"?
First two were zombie nightmares which used to always be Night of the Living Dead like in format, but now are, since I started watching the tv series, The Walking Dead recreations.
These dreams always wake me up because I am kicking my legs to keep the zombies off of me in the dream and also am kicking my legs in my sleep, which wakes me up. I think I may have kicked cat Freddy off of the bed during that one. Must have thought he was a zombie.

I believe that would be too advanced for him. I believe he's still on DICK AND JANE BUY THE FARM.

Is there seriously a book titled that, DR JohnG?Yup. It's in the series with "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies." Here's a link:
That is an unusual looking book series, DR JohnG. I wonder if they are entertaining?I enjoyed the "Pride and Prejudice" because of the way it used the original manuscript and then took it apart here and there to incorporate the zombies. Then it went back to Jane Austen, etc.
I am enjoying the movie posters.
Your dreams are most interesting DR MBARNUM.
And the word of the day is: FEUILLETON!
As to the Bob Merrill revue - I can't remember if Mr. Ellis was at our Merrill show - he's seen two of ours. But the minute I read that three women arrive at a sleazy bar I know that it's a completely mis-conceived evening from start to finish - and why? Why do these jukebox shows feel that need to just make some stupid arbitrary plot. Just celebrate Mr. Merrill with clever choices, good arrangements and great people. Our Merrill show was really wonderful because we had five great singers, one great guest star (Lainie Kazan), and fun anecdotes about the shows and Mr. Merrill - what else do you need? You either trust the material or you don't. As to the director - he's okay but maybe shouldn't be shepherding a new show - that's a very difficult job.The joy that was "The Decline and Fall of the Entire World as Seen Through the Eyes of Cole Porter" needs to return to the land of the revue.
I am now forced to post old 1960s Bollywood stunt film posters.QuoteI enjoy it when you are forced to do such things.
I remember seeing the Broadway revival of Cabaret with Alan Cumming. Loved it.
I keep seeing all these press releases saying that Edward Watts, who will play Superman at Encores!, was in Finian's Rainbow on Broadway. I was there, and No, he wasn't!What do you want? Truth?
Thursday morning greetings! I have been out and about BY MYSELF this morning - went for a blood test, then did a little shopping at Target. Not 100%, but greatly improved.
As DR Druxy mentioned late last night, actor John Kerr (Tea and Sympathy and South Pacific) passed away on Feb. 1st. after a short illness.

Tomorrow some group called The Patriot Party are gathering their flock (they estimate 1,000 to 1,500) downtown, right by my work.
Here is the quote from their leader: Oregon is an open carry state," Tharp said. "It's just that Oregonians aren't used to seeing people walking around with a gun on their hip. We're going to change that.
I am not really looking forward to this.
Ok, 20 minutes later.....I can't do this all on my own, you know.
BK, where in tarnation are you? You ought to be here posting away.
I am enjoying the movie posters.
Your dreams are most interesting DR MBARNUM.
Glad i checked the library's computer before talking to the librarian. All the books I was going to ask about were entered into the computer today.
DR JOHN G thanks for the class photo yesterday. Very nice!
I have some cucumber salad, and maybeI'll have the slice of pizza in the freezer.

BK and DR Jane, was reading an article today in Classic Images magazine about actor Don Megowan. He owned two different restaurants in the late 1960s/70s....Johnny's, on Lankershim, and later Megowan's Clubhouse on Webb in North Hollywood.
Did either of you ever come across those places?
We have just returned from dinner with Mom and my sister and her husband. Mom treated us in the dining room at her retirement community. She's lived there almost 14 years and tonight was the first time she's done that.
Thanks for the travel vibes. I think I should be okay. We're only expecting rain here.
However, vibes are needed for the 40+ people leaving from Buffalo tomorrow. The bride and groom have to change planes in NYC and they're expecting a foot or more of snow there!

Is that because your mother prefers to eat elsewhere when you join her for dinner? How was it?
DR Elmore, I am so disappointed in you. I have set you up for so many comments today, but you haven't taken the bait. Not once.

She's always had kind of an aversion to eating there, but she was pretty tired after my sister took her shopping today. Guess it seemed simplest. It was surprisingly good.

My DH and I set each other up for the "That's what she said" punchline all the time. Poor DR Sandra just sighs and shakes her head.

Get used to it, Mike. I was shocked when I saw a guy at PetSmart with a gun stuffed into his jeans waistband. What was more shocking was that no one else in the store, including the manager, saw anything wrong with it.
I still find it weird that it took six weeks for two of the books. But at least they got them all. I think I should be first for all of them. There is one in particular I really hope I am first for as it is the final book in a series I love.Glad i checked the library's computer before talking to the librarian. Excellent timing. :)

Cillaliz, here's an interview with Rupert Holmes that was on Playbill today:Thanks John G. I hadn't seen that yet. I actually met Rupert because I was one of the people who bought one of the 10,000 initial copies of Widescreen and I wrote him a fan letter. He called me. At the time I thought it was because of my delightful letter, but I learned later it was because he couldn't figure out how a girl in a little town in Iowa got a copy of Widescreen. Anyway, that was when we started writing, later met him, not long after he had done his work on A Star is Born...and we became friends. It's amazing to me that we are still good friends 36 years later, but we are and I am very thankful for that.

Actually we had two copies. My sister brought one home from college and I ordered one through my local record store
Then I picked up a package which has this new book called Better Nate Than Ever - which has gotten some raves on amazon, about a young boy who runs away to audition for a musical version of ET on Broadway. I'm not going to read it, since I don't read fiction when I'm writing it, but while the first sentence is cute and perky, I found it wrong for a young boy. Nitpicking, of course, but it sounds more like an author than a character of the first person. Of course, Benjamin Kritzer was a precocious ten-year-old in the first book, but there's nothing he says that's really out of the ordinary, and it's not written in the first person anyway. I also found ET a little Outside the Box-ish. But I'm sure it's a fun book.
I have some cucumber salad, and maybeI'll have the slice of pizza in the freezer.
No gym for me tonight. I am gonna go home and collapse in front of the tv and watch some of the stuff accumulating on the DVR.

I'll ask Joshie or Rob Berman; he might have been in the Encores! production.
It appears I shall have to purchase a book tonight. I'm deciding between RIN TIN TIN or THE LAST CHILD by John Hart, or THE LOST WIFE by Alyson Richman.Any zombies in any of them?
Any input is welcome.
