I was about to post this last night about my bluetooth ear piece headset, but BK cut me off. ;)

Quote
The other thing that I just noticed was that the picture is of a silver-tone device and what I received was black.  That's not a problem in itself, but when I looked at the model number of what I received, it's H710, NOT H721!  I got the wrong item...and it doesn't work.  If it worked, I probably wouldn't care, but it doesn't, so I do.  IT'S DEFINITELY GOING BACK!

ANGEL STREET looked pretty good last night.  The first night they couldn't CALL for lines....there were of course some stumbles, but just a few.  The lights look very good and our costumes are very good as well.  Only ONE SHIRT did not fit.

Our photographer took some production photos last night, so I should have them in a day or so.

Several years ago they took an old, unused railway bridge over the Hudson River up near Poughkeepsie, NY and turned it into a "linear park" for pedestrians and bicycles.

I wasn't there this morning, but a lucky few witnessed a balloon launch from the bridge:

DR George, if your CD of the London cast 1776 sounds better than mine, which I downloaded from my friend Alan, could I ask you to burn me a copy?

I'll check in from Toyland.

Tonight, looks like friends and I will pay our annual visit to a drive-in movie theater.  We try to uphold this tradition at least once per season.

You read that right.  A drive-in theater.  The closest remaining one to here, the Overlook near Poughkeepsie (where they pick their feet) and its sister the Hyde Park, are alive and well and went digital this year to prove it.  That's all good news, of course, but it will be a little shocking and sad not to be able to take the traditional mid-movie stroll past the booth, where the door is usually propped open on a hot night, and pay one's respects to the marvelous old projectors, watch a changeover, and bask in the magic of it all.

The neighbor has a strip of grass across from my house she has to mow.  She didn't know and someone turned her in to the weed police.  She got a notice that she had to clear it or they would and charge her for it.

Wow! I wish we had such things as weed police. There are at least three near neighbours I could report  :)

We have weed police here, DR Doug. I have labeled all my native shrubs with plant tags in Latin to keep from getting cited. Some people think they are weeds.

Dustin Hoffman Is a great Actor,.

When He auditioned for The Graduate, the reason he got the part of Benjamin was because he gave (I think it was Katherine Ross)  a little pat on her booty.

I read that  years ago.

Naturally, the first film that comes to mind is JAWS.  For Olivier, of course, as the shark.  He tries to chew the scenery, but since he is surrounded by water, he has to chew people instead.  Seriously...............

Dustin Hoffman:

Sir Laurence:

RE: the fireworks discussion from yesterday

These people that set off their own fireworks, is it just for a few minutes?

I have no idea if doing your own fireworks is legal here. But I don't think it would ever occur to anybody to want to do this.  Many suburbs have beautiful 20 minute fireworks displays on occasions like July 1st. And it doesn't really seem that safe to try to do this yourself.

I am tired. It is such a beautiful, hot, sunny day. But very humid.

Did a lot of exercises at the pool. Then came home and biked at the lake (not too hot there). But now I am tired.

Maybe with doing two exercise regimes a day I might actually lose some weight.

I am loving going to the outdoor pool again. IT was packed today. We went for fun swim. So I was able to exercise with a noodle.

I didn't swim but did a lot of exercises. I was in the deep end with my noodle for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Usually we stay longer but my niece had to go home.

Hopefully there were very few fatalities on that plane crash. It seems odd for a plane to crash because of the landing. The passersby saw the tail hit the ground cause the plane wasn't level.

I was about to post this last night about my bluetooth ear piece headset, but BK cut me off. ;)

Well, it looks like I don't have to actually send it back.  A refund was already waiting for me when I checked my e-mail a couple of hours ago!  I just have to find another one to buy. :)

Good morning, all! I am off to Toyland.

DR George, if your CD of the London cast 1776 sounds better than mine, which I downloaded from my friend Alan, could I ask you to burn me a copy?

I'll check in from Toyland.

Certainly...if I can find it again.  My CDs are all completely unorganized and over the place.  I'll look and listen.

I'm enjoying the Kritzer songs in the Notes, especially Poor Little Fool. Bruce, you did a beautiful job with that. I don't think I've ever heard you sing that style of song before. I've never thought of you as the Ricky Nelson type. Who knew?

I am now somewhat ambulatory. I can walk without a cane, but not far. I get really tuckered out! The danger has passed. There were some complications, but they are behind me. I am able to go to the doctor and also buy groceries by myself--no driver/minder needed! THAT is a big milestone! I have been pretty much housebound for the past 7 weeks--arrrrghh! Thankfully, my neighbor downstairs and a couple friends have pitched in and helped.

Oh they shoot off some now, some later blow up some firecrackers etc.  It isn't just a few minutes and done.  We have several missing dogs in town.  Every year there are dogs that will literally break out of their house or yard and run away.  Sad

I would seriously like to get the guest room/study painted tomorrow.  So...I better scrub tonight.   I started ripping the paper off the wall maybe 2 years ago. I have been gathering info to lead the discussion on Tuesday when my book group meets here.  The book is "A Town Like Alice" by Nevil Shute.  As much as I enjoy discussing books I don't have a burning desire to do so with this one, more because I loved the book and prefer not to find flaws in it.

I think I have put together enough thoughts & questions to lead the discussion.  Best of all I found Shute's journey of how he came to write this novel.

Jeanne, the Kritzer songs were recorded at the time I completed each of the books.  We did five songs for the first, five for the second, and then five PLUS the Kritzer originals for the final book.  I'm going to upload all of them to the notes.  The CDs were available at the time we sold the books online here - if you ordered one from this here site you got the CD.  I'm happy to burn a copy if someone wants one.  We were originally going to press up 100 of them, but it never happened.

Had a wonderful stumble-through the Kritzerland show - such delightful songs and such an amazing cast - cannot say enough about them and how blessed I am to work with such people. Chelsea Emma Franko, Tessa Grady, Barry Pearl, Jenna Lea Rosen, Robert Yacko, and our two wonderful guest stars, Tony Tanner and Kerry O'Malley. So many highlights in this show, but I'm here to tell you I have never heard a better As Long As He Needs Me than Kerry O'Malley's. After watching, I did make some running order changes, mostly to the final third - I never know until I see and hear if my order is working - it was very obvious where the changes needed to come and they were very simple to implement. I also cut one song out of one of the many put-togethers - the first song was so adorable and working on its own that the second song just seemed superfluous so out it went.  I made some tempo changes to other songs, worked a bit with each performer to smooth out a few things and then Shelly Markham and I went and had some food.  I'm in for the evening now, unless I get adventurous and do a second jog.  My voice is still sounding a bit trashed but I definitely feel a lot better.

WOW!  I did not know that any still existed - Drive in movie theatres were such a large part of my childhood and youth... the last one on Long Island was demolished  maybe 20 years ago now. There used to be three within 15 minutes of my house

I would love them - when I joined the books were all ready out so I bought them all at the same time and I do not have the cds although the books are all beautifully inscribed

Larry, I found my London cast recording of 1776 and it sounds pretty good.  I also sent you a PM about it. :D

WOW!  I did not know that any still existed - Drive in movie theatres were such a large part of my childhood and youth... the last one on Long Island was demolished  maybe 20 years ago now. There used to be three within 15 minutes of my house

Plenty still exist, but "plenty" is not what it used to be.

The last one on Long Island was the Westbury, closed and demolished around 1998, and I'm sorry I never got to it.

They were a HUGE part of my childhood and youth.  For my family, they were one of the chief forms of weekly entertainment and we practically lived at them during our last few years in Ohio, and for several years in Fort Lauderdale.

I saw Mary Poppins at the Westbury Drive In... also Endless Love (it was a date)

The Johnny All Weather Drive In was fantastic when I was a kid --- we three kids in our PJs and sneakers  in the  "way back" of the station wagon with pillows and blankets -  they had a playground and all the other kids were dressed in pjs too -  the sun would go down and we would head back to our cars and Dad would put the speaker on the driver side window and roll the window up so it would stay put...

there were usually a few cartoons first or a family friendly movie and then we would fall asleep while the parents watched the 2nd feature and wake up in the morning in our own beds

They have not been legal here since my Dad was a boy ...(and he's 84!)  but  they are legal in DC  so enterprising folk drive down stock up and resell here and the police turn a blind eye

They're all over the place here, and of course not legal -- people routinely bring them up from the southern states or wherever.  But there are so many semi-rural large properties and such that it's truly unenforceable.

There is a drive-in on the way from Olympia to Shelton.  I haven't gone in years, but my friend Margo loves to take her kids.  There was something on Facebook last year (maybe earlier this year) about a Kickstarter program to keep the drive-in going.  I guess not enough people go there, but it just may be that it needs to be fixed up.

Sorry to go missing for a couple days, but I had songs to learn for tomorrow night's Kritzerland show.

Okay, no foolin' around here. Gotta get these lyrics more solid.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone.

But, I didn't feel like scrubbing, so I painted the two walls that were prepped. I have no idea if I'll be too sore to finish tomorrow, but at least it looks like progress has been made.

If fireworks are not available for sale in Canada, then I wouldn't imagine people would have a choice.

Great news, Jeanne.  Continued healing vibes to you.

I finally had a few hours today to clean up my mess at home.
The things I drop on any surface available when I walk in the door.
A few hours at a fast pace is what it took to put things away.

One day I will finish cleaning out the cabinets and drawers of the clutter that gets put away.  :-\

So, does that mean you can come help me with my mess?

Then I came home and started watching an old recording of Ann Southern in "Lady in the Dark" that just arrived in the mail. It would have been nice to have this a couple of weeks ago when I was writing a paper on it. But it's a fairly good record of the music from the show and the truncated libretto still shows all the flaws of the show.

Never realized Ann Southern was such a good singer.
