Decided not to scrub walls tonight.  All the wallpaper is off the walls, gotta get the glue, but just don't feel like it now.  I'll do it tomorrow

Jeanne, the Kritzer songs were recorded at the time I completed each of the books.  We did five songs for the first, five for the second, and then five PLUS the Kritzer originals for the final book.  I'm going to upload all of them to the notes.  The CDs were available at the time we sold the books online here - if you ordered one from this here site you got the CD.  I'm happy to burn a copy if someone wants one.  We were originally going to press up 100 of them, but it never happened.

Had a wonderful stumble-through the Kritzerland show - such delightful songs and such an amazing cast - cannot say enough about them and how blessed I am to work with such people. Chelsea Emma Franko, Tessa Grady, Barry Pearl, Jenna Lea Rosen, Robert Yacko, and our two wonderful guest stars, Tony Tanner and Kerry O'Malley. So many highlights in this show, but I'm here to tell you I have never heard a better As Long As He Needs Me than Kerry O'Malley's. After watching, I did make some running order changes, mostly to the final third - I never know until I see and hear if my order is working - it was very obvious where the changes needed to come and they were very simple to implement. I also cut one song out of one of the many put-togethers - the first song was so adorable and working on its own that the second song just seemed superfluous so out it went.  I made some tempo changes to other songs, worked a bit with each performer to smooth out a few things and then Shelly Markham and I went and had some food.  I'm in for the evening now, unless I get adventurous and do a second jog.  My voice is still sounding a bit trashed but I definitely feel a lot better.

Tonight, looks like friends and I will pay our annual visit to a drive-in movie theater.  We try to uphold this tradition at least once per season.

You read that right.  A drive-in theater.  The closest remaining one to here, the Overlook near Poughkeepsie (where they pick their feet) and its sister the Hyde Park, are alive and well and went digital this year to prove it.  That's all good news, of course, but it will be a little shocking and sad not to be able to take the traditional mid-movie stroll past the booth, where the door is usually propped open on a hot night, and pay one's respects to the marvelous old projectors, watch a changeover, and bask in the magic of it all.

WOW!  I did not know that any still existed - Drive in movie theatres were such a large part of my childhood and youth... the last one on Long Island was demolished  maybe 20 years ago now. There used to be three within 15 minutes of my house

I had to revise the commentary order - that just took thirty minutes - I made several changes in the final third of the show, and one change early.  Now it's all in order and printed out.

I found this article on the crash well written without a lot of speculation.  The passenger interviewed expressed himself well.  Now when I read about emergency situations and the people rushed to the hospital I think about what Bryan would be doing if it was his hospital.

I would love them - when I joined the books were all ready out so I bought them all at the same time and I do not have the cds although the books are all beautifully inscribed

Good morning, all! I am off to Toyland.

DR George, if your CD of the London cast 1776 sounds better than mine, which I downloaded from my friend Alan, could I ask you to burn me a copy?

I'll check in from Toyland.

Certainly...if I can find it again.  My CDs are all completely unorganized and over the place.  I'll look and listen.

Larry, I found my London cast recording of 1776 and it sounds pretty good.  I also sent you a PM about it. :D

Plenty still exist, but "plenty" is not what it used to be.

The last one on Long Island was the Westbury, closed and demolished around 1998, and I'm sorry I never got to it.

They were a HUGE part of my childhood and youth.  For my family, they were one of the chief forms of weekly entertainment and we practically lived at them during our last few years in Ohio, and for several years in Fort Lauderdale.

that one was about  1/2 hour from home  - we also had drive ins  in Commack, Bay Shore and Copiague I used to go to all the time

I saw Mary Poppins at the Westbury Drive In... also Endless Love (it was a date)

The Johnny All Weather Drive In was fantastic when I was a kid --- we three kids in our PJs and sneakers  in the  "way back" of the station wagon with pillows and blankets -  they had a playground and all the other kids were dressed in pjs too -  the sun would go down and we would head back to our cars and Dad would put the speaker on the driver side window and roll the window up so it would stay put...

there were usually a few cartoons first or a family friendly movie and then we would fall asleep while the parents watched the 2nd feature and wake up in the morning in our own beds
