Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of three friends, and now it is time for you to post until the three cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BONIFACE!
-
Ask BK Kay?? ;D
-
Love "Three Friends;" can't wait to hear the whole thing.
-
So so glad to have "The Twelfth of Never." The simple arrangement is very effective, and what a wonderful vocal!!!

Morning all.
That is all.
-
It's been very hot lately and it's a work day. The office has no air conditioning so it's going to be stifling there today.
-
Good morning, all! I did not sleep well, but the only dream i can remember is something about joining a dating service and a lot of neuroses.
I have little else to report. This morning, I will head to Toyland, print a full score for our producer, and bind it, if there's time. Otherwise, I will head to 42nd Street to catch the 1:00 matinee of one of the NYMF shows. My friend Laura is in it, and I will hopefully have coffee with her after the show.
-
It sprinkled last night (all 9 drops), but it still smells like rain this morning. DR Laura says there might be rain today; we just got irrigation, and I watered the other plants, so that means there's a good chance we will.
-
Good morning, all.
Slept pretty much okay, which is good because I'd gotten a somewhat short sleep the night before.
And now ...........
Coffee!
-
A beautiful Twelfth of Never, Mr. BK, sir!
-
An office with no air conditioning, DR Doug R?
Oy!
Or whatever the London equivalent of Oy! Is.
-
I use IE and the youtube video played perfectly.
-
For anyone who watches BIG BROTHER the days are now Wed, thurs, sun. So no show tonight.
-
Stay cool vibes for DR DOUG R.
DR SINGDAW I enjoyed the books with a letter missing link very much.
Lovely photos from DR LAURA and DR JOHN G yesterday.
-
I enjoyed hearing "The Twelfth of Never"....very nice.....
Teen age angst is my least favorite type of entertainment. I can appreciate the songs today, but I can't enjoy them much. And I feel VERY much like MR BK does about loading a soundtrack with familiar songs....the only good thing about it is that it makes a nice soundtrack CD.
-
Front page of the Banner-Graphic today. And my name has been changed to protect the innocent....I am now Jack RANDLE Earles.....rhymes with Handel.
http://www.bannergraphic.com/story/1984604.html
I haven't seen the print edition yet, but from the sample on the website....the picture looks HUGE.

-
good morning to all
-
ASK BK
Did you see the stage version of Sleepless in Seattle that played, I think, the Passadena Playhouse?
-
Greetings from Toyland! It is way too humid outside. The temperature isn't bad at the moment but I am soaking wet and hating it.
-
Wednesday morning greetings! A good night's sleep was just what I needed after yesterday's dental procedure. Today, I get to play in my kitchen, which needs a little rearranging to make room for my new Keurig coffee maker.
-
my name has been changed to protect the innocent....I am now Jack RANDLE Earles.....rhymes with Handel.
;D
At least they got it right down in the body of the story.
-
DR Laura says there might be rain today
I'll see it when I believe it. :)
-
Good morning, all.
Lena Horne's singing Cole Porter right now, and all's right with the world.
Happy hump day vibes.
-
Ask BK Kay?? ;D
Thank you, Choctaw, for asking the same question I had.
-
BTW, Kling Kling, I think your books link from last night had a mistake in it. The name of the novel is "The Scarlet Letter," not, I would guess, "The Scarlet A."
-
I am going to be singing the strangest memorial service on Saturday.
The family's musical requests include Schubert's "Ave Maria," alongside Cole Porter's "Night and Day." :)
Apparently the deceased was an extra in The Gay Divorcee, so that is part of their tribute to him.
-
LOL DR SINGDAW - I wrote the story......
-
The name of the novel is "The Scarlet Letter," not, I would guess, "The Scarlet A."
I was wondering about that one. Hester would not be pleased, I think.
-
Good morning. While Keith works hard replanting plants I have a hike in the mountains planned followed by a trip to the eye doctor. Drops will be put in my eyes so I'm not sure when I will be back to the computer.
-

"night ands day, you are the one
only you beneath the earth and under the ground"?
-
Like that, elmore!
-
How did I get here before the notes again?
I thought I'd fixed that.
-
The name of the novel is "The Scarlet Letter," not, I would guess, "The Scarlet A."

I'm slow on the uptake, apparently. They dropped a "letter." Duh.

As a duet?
-
BK, such terrific musical material along with the notes today.
-
They dropped a "letter." Duh.
That is far too clever. By half. :)
-
As a duet?
No. One at a time. But I think, after singing the Porter, that I shall personally re-create ALL of the original choreography. :o
-
"night and day, you are the one
only you beneath the earth and under the ground"?
Great idea, DR elmore3003! I shall make sure that you are credited in the memorial program.
-
DR SinghSingh, you just crack me up.
-
"night and day, you are the one

Great idea, DR elmore3003! I shall make sure that you are credited in the memorial program.
Just be sure the spelling is correct.
-
DR Laura, all five caterpillars were munching away on the plant again this morning.
-
DR MBarnum, a theatre site for you!

One! Of! Us!

I've unearthed another long-lost photograph of our dear DR Ron Pulliam!
-
Wow - 17 guests!
-
Ask BK Kay?? ;D
Oh, Kay!
-
Finally! A theatrical stage experience that just might entice our dear DR MBarnum!
Meet Monkey: Journey to the West!

-
Thank you for that, DR Elmore! I think that Jim Newman is my new favorite stage actor. I can spot talent a mile away.
-
I am assuming DR RLP is on the left....
-
I can spot talent a mile away.
;D
Oh, is that what they're calling it these days?
-
I am assuming DR RLP is on the left....
One would think, DR Jrandt2. One would think.
But I have been wrong before.
-
I see that Olive Films is releasing PENNY SERENADE on dvd and blu-ray. I presume these will be an improvement over that previous public domain releases, and if so, I will be first in line to buy it!! I just love that movie!

DR Vixmom - this is for you! This is a conceptual drawing of how George R.R. Martin originally envisioned the Iron Throne when he was writing the books:
-
And while we're getting DR MBarnum interested in live theatre, we'll get him going to classical concerts, too...

I'm up. It's overcast outside.
-
I had the craziest dream - found myself in NY but not now - back somewhere around 1966.
-
I saw the early reading of Sleepless the Musical - dreadful. Then they had it all rewritten, including the score, but you can't really change the story, can you? And the story - well - how can it work as a musical? In the film you have two people in different cities for most of the film - even though they have two brief sightings they really don't meet until the last minute of the movie. In film you have editing and close-ups. On stage you have two people at opposite ends of the stage - I don't see how that can ever work. Not every movie, despite its brand, needs to be a musical.
-
I had a crazy dream last night, also. I was working, as a second job, back at my long ago former employer Bi-Mart. It was my first day and at the end of the day there was a big hub-bub because there was 1/4 of a million dollars missing from the till that I and another cashier had been working on.
There was a big investigation involving management and all of the employees and then the CIA or FBI or some other official types were brought in.
I was quite upset to be a suspect; I wasn't worried about losing my job, as I had only taken this second job out of boredom. I also could not understand how there could have possibly ever been that much money in any of our tills...but at the tail end of the dream it turned out to be another employee had stolen the money...and it was Amanda, a contestant from the current season of Big Brother.
-
Bi-Mart figures into a lot of my recurring dreams, for some reason. Almost all of them have me working back at Bi-Mart as a temporary employee. I just show up and go to work, but then I begin to realize that I never look at the schedule to see if I am actually supposed to work that day or if I have been missing days that I was supposed to work and didn't realize it due to not looking at the schedule. Oddly enough, the store managers never mention anything about me missing work or being there on the wrong days.
I am quite curious what the Dream-O-Matic 3000 has to say about this recurring dream scenerio.
-
I had one mildly crazy dream, but nothing much out of the ordinary. I think it conflated two of my standard dream themes.
Anyhoo, apropos of just about nothing, I was just thinking of Reuben sandwiches. Haven't had one in quite a long time, so maybe that needs to be rectified.
And then I thought of Reuben's Restaurant/Deli in NYC -- the incarnation I remember of it being their East 58th Street location in the early 1970s. Anyone here remember that one? I was trying to find some pictures (especially of the interior) of that location (I know they moved around) and am coming up empty.
-
The top of the fridge is not safe.

I cannot imagine what EITHER of those dreams mean.
-
I cannot imagine what EITHER of those dreams mean.
Reading between that lines, that means: Those two dreams indicate that DR MBarnum is a total whack-job. It is probably best if I just don't comment.
-
DR ColeSlaw, I am intrigued by this Monkey: Journey to the West musical.
-
Happy Birthday, Jerry Herman!

I am glad, DR MBarnum. I am glad. :)
-
BTW, Kling Kling, I think your books link from last night had a mistake in it. The name of the novel is "The Scarlet Letter," not, I would guess, "The Scarlet A."
That also bothered me-lol
-
My hike didn't last as long as I expected. At least I have had time to eat before I go to the eye doctor. I need to do some work on the computer which I doubt I'll want to do later.
-

I saw the news from Indiana this morning. Is that even legal?
-
Hello Everyone:
TOD:
DR Bk , What is your absolute favorite movie, song and musical??
-
Indiana is just being...Indiana....
This is the state that spent hours of legislative time each year for over 20 years debating time zones.
This is the state that says that the loved ones of single persons who are unmarried and have no children cannot sue for wrongful death benefits....no matter the circumstances of the demise....even murder or accident....only surviving spouse or children are eligible for those benefits.
It is also the state that will NOT require gravel trucks or any other haulers to put tarps or covers on their trucks while they are on the highway....they are NOT responsible for broken windshields or any other damage.
-
I don't think that is the interpretation DR MBARNUM.
-
Well the hubby just sectioned off our walls with painters tape. Soon the painting will begin!
-
I went to Bon Ton to get a gift for my friend Sandy's birthday. We will celebrate Friday with the girls at Templeton Landing, an upscale restaurant, bar on the waterfront.
The weather should be nice.
The entertainment should be good. Time to Party and Dance !!
-
I purchased an beautiful bracelet and a small box of Harry London chocolates for her.
I also treated myself to a purse (on clearance),(Franco Sarto). Very stylish and a great price.
Also I purchased a beautiful black lace sleeveless top. Can be dressy or I can wear it with Jeans . It also was a great buy! Marked way down, and I love it.
-
Does anyone else love fashion like me. Also theres nothing like getting a good deal.
-
I will do some laundry today.
And of course I will be reading BK's Book. This morning I was reading it and again lots of laughs!
-
The clerk at Bon Ton (A department Store) keeps asking me when I will be putting an application in to work there. I always tell her and the other clerks, I would spend all of my paycheck. LOL
-
Last night I started to watch Now Voyager with Bette Davis. I just love her and her movies.
After that, Dead Ringer came on. I only watched a while as it was getting late, past midnight.
Oh, but that is one of the great perks of retirement. No schedule!!
-
As BK would say, WHERE IS EVERYONE!! LOL
-
And the word of the day is: BONIFACE!
And The Song Of The Day Is: MASTER OF THE HOUSE
-
I guess I'm pretty immature, but I giggle every time I read the name "Bi-Mart." :)
-
And here is your brief moment of Zen:

I enjoyed shopping when we lived in Michigan and I went to lots of events. I would shop with my friends & by clothing to have for a day when I would need it. Now I only shop for special events and it is stressful.
-
I guess I'm pretty immature, but I giggle every time I read the name "Bi-Mart." :)
I guess I'm naive cuz I don't get it. When we lived in Pennsylvania & I had to tell people to turn left at the Spread Eagle Inn they giggled.

-
Yes DR Jane, Thats why I like to have all sorts of clothes for different events. I hate to have to get something in a hurry for something like a wedding. It is very stressful!
-
Right now my hubby, Jerry, is painting our kitchen wall with Benjamin Moore's Segovia Red.!!
Looks Great. We only have one roller so Maybe we will take turns.
-
DR BK, I love the song Three Friends!
-
DR BK, I just remembered to tell you I really loved your song" Superman is Dead". (From Your book)
Great Lyrics. Too Bad about George Reeves, so Sad.
-
For those of you unfamiliar with the Song, Here is the first verse:
My hero, the man of steel
My hero who could fly, who never bled
He put a bullet in his head
And it never should have hurt him
But the newspaper said
Superman is dead
-
Amazing, that you wrote the lyrics in 15 minutes.
-
Dr BK, Can you give me some tips on songwriting?
-
I guess I'm pretty immature, but I giggle every time I read the name "Bi-Mart." :)
In Lacey, there used to be a Bi-Lo. ;)
-
Happy Birthday, Jerry Herman!
A Very Happy Birthday to Jerry Herman! ;D
-
He looks familiar, but who is Jerry Herman!
-
My favorite things changes daily - sometimes hourly, so hard to say.
-
There really aren't tips on songwriting - I've been asked to pontificate on that subject and I never really know what to say, other than focus is everything and turn of phrase is everything in lyric writing. I can always talk about the process of writing prose, whether fiction or otherwise - that's easy, but songwriting I just never know what to say really because it's such a personal thing from writer to writer.
-
He looks familiar, but who is Jerry Herman!
WHAT?? Jerry Herman wrote the scores to:
Milk and Honey
Hello, Dolly!
Ben Franklin in Paris
Mame
Dear World
Mack & Mabel
The Grand Tour
La Cage Aux Folles
Miss Spectacular
:D

And i am home from the New York Musical Theatre Festival production of SASQUATCHED, which was nicely directed and choreographed, had a nice 5-piece country band, a bright energetic cast, and a few problems with the book and lyrics. The author hasn't decided exactly what the tone of the piece should be, and for every number I liked, there was one that didn't land. My friend Laura Daniel was wonderful as the eco-friendly park marshal, and I had a nice visit with her after the show. At intermission, I discovered our E&T DR Julie sitting two rows in front of me. It was great to see her.
I liked the music very much; I felt in some cases the lyrics didn't sit well on the tunes, but the biggest problem for me was the author's failure to find an over-all tone for the show. The work of the director/choreographer was quite wonderful, and I appreciated the fact that he kept the comedy moving at a nice clip.
-
Early lunch meeting was fun and informative - with producer Ed Gaynes and his delightful daughter, Jessica - both were at last Sunday's Kritzerland show. Ed and I are having conversations about bringing the Kritzerland shows to NY or maybe bringing Lost and Unsung to one of the theaters he runs. We shall see. Jessica, when she was a wee teen was the host of a really popular Nickelodeon show - can't remember the name. She hasn't worked in a lot of years (her choice) but is trying to get back into it or some form of the business now.
-
I called Dramatic Publishing or whatever they're called to see if I could get the sheet music from Three Friends and Nerd - the lady there was very sweet and while they don't have separate music on just those songs she's sending me the entire score gratis. So, I'll have the sheet music, the CD and that will be fun.
-
East Coast Singer is finally on her way - an hour late, but, such is life.
-
she's sending me the entire score gratis. So, I'll have the sheet music, the CD and that will be fun.
Fantastic!!
-

Fantastic!!
Quite!
-
Thanks, George.
I'm more familiar with TV and movies then musicals.
-
Well, the first coat of paint is on and it looks awesome!!
-
Goodbye for Now! Have a great night everyone!
-
We are back from the library, the Y, and a condolence call on our neighbor Marilyn. Her husband died suddenly on Monday.
-
Oh, that's awful, DR Ginny. I'm sure she appreciated your visit.
-
Yes DR Jane, Thats why I like to have all sorts of clothes for different events. I hate to have to get something in a hurry for something like a wedding. It is very stressful!
After moving here my events became too spread out to collect clothes.
-
Right now my hubby, Jerry, is painting our kitchen wall with Benjamin Moore's Segovia Red.!!
Looks Great. We only have one roller so Maybe we will take turns.
I hope you are just as happy with the completed project as you are now.
-
We are back from the library, the Y, and a condolence call on our neighbor Marilyn. Her husband died suddenly on Monday.
Condolences to your neighbor. :(
-
My eyes are blurry but it isn't too bright by the computer so I can use it. I can't wash the dishes as the sun is shining to brightly through the window at the sink.
My prescription changed ever so slightly, not enough for me to do anything about it. My eyes are a bit cloudy which surprised me. Not enough to even consider cataract surgery. Having the surgery so I can get the implants that would let me trash my glasses is a looooong way off.
-
Thank you, DRs Jane and Singdaw. Marilyn did appreciate our visit and her daughters seemed to appreciate the apple pie. Marilyn also seemed pleased when we told her we'd be at her husband's service tomorrow. It will be my first Jewish funeral.
-
Had a good meeting with the East Coast Singer, who brought along her lovely mom with her. We discussed everything we needed to. I haven't done a jog yet and probably should given the cajun chicken angel hair pasta thing I had for lunch, but I'm beginning to think I need one day off from jogging. We'll see how I feel later - it's also very muggy out and still overcast.
-
What is this slowdown this week. Let us get off our collective butt cheeks and get a frenzy or three goin' on.
-
This day, unlike yesterday, has pretty much been stellar. I did find out that something I was really hoping would happen this year or early next isn't, but the project is still very much alive and may happen in the second half of next year, which is fine.
-
DR Ginny traditionally the family is behind a curtain during the service. More and more these days the family is out with the rest of the mourners. My father's was a small graveside service while my father, siblings & a few close relatives were behind the curtain with me for my mother's service.

Well, I got to the Metro station and my car wouldn't start. I had to wait almost an hour for AAA. The guy said it looked like my alternator was shot. He said that whenever I used the AC or even put lights on that the battery was draining. I hope it starts tomorrow morning and evening. I'll have to take the car to be fixed Friday or Saturday , I guess.
-
Thank you, DRs George and KevinH.

Sneaking in to wish everyone a lovely evening. Been trapped in rehearsals for a sinking ship, and getting tires replaced, when I found two had the rubber separating - never safe. All is well now.
Kay, back to the sinking ship. Good luck with your collective butt cheeks.

I need to rest my eyes.
-
On the phone with Apple to see if we can resolve the slowness of the Internet on this computer - this is all a recent thing, the last week or two and it's driving me crazy.
-
I think something is hogging up memory or something - that would be a logical assumption, so maybe something got screwy somewhere.
-
:)
-
I do love the new website.
All the extra things.
:)
-
Got home. Had 30 minutes. Now on my way.
See ya in the morning.
Mega vibes.
Great evening.
Happy morning tomorrow with sunshine and coffee.

DITTO DR SAM!!!
-
Hi Jane. ;)
-
Still on the phone trying different things, none of which has really made a difference. Changed DNS servers (or added new ones) but that didn't really change anything - websites are still loading jerkily in certain cases, including this one. And then we tried You Tube on the Three Friends video, which is less than a minute and he could hear it start and stop and sputter and freeze - a one-minute video should load and play instantly.
-
I told him I had Chrome but that Chrome was, in certain ways, even slower, including You Tube -
-
He's talking to a senior tech to see what else we can try. It's not the memory or anything - we checked that and that's all fine.
-
You Tube has been sluggish for me as well......
-
Condolences for Marilyn and her family!
Car starting vibes for DR KEVIN H.
DR VIXMOM, I do not know how covered the lady was......but it was probably something unexpected at a performance of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN.....
-
Last rehearsal of ANGEL STREET is over....and now tomorrow night...>WE OPEN!
-
Hi Jane. ;)
Hi DR Sam, sorry I didn't see this until later.
-
That's crazy about YouTube. No slow-ups or any other difficulties here, on computer or phone.
-
The sky is changing color, but no dust or rain yet.
-
A beautiful Twelfth of Never, Mr. BK, sir!
I don't think so. Sounds more like Guy Haines to me.
-
Good morning, all.
Slept pretty much okay, which is good because I'd gotten a somewhat short sleep the night before.
Bragging or complaining?

Spoo. I didn't even think about that. I just went to castalbums.org (http://castalbums.org), did a search and copied some of the shows that were under his name. ::)
;)
-
Wednesday morning greetings! A good night's sleep was just what I needed after yesterday's dental procedure. Today, I get to play in my kitchen, which needs a little rearranging to make room for my new Keurig coffee maker.
Is your Keurig a K-cup or a vue?
-
Well, I must be off. I've been at work for far too long, but no more. I need to do some laundry tonight (I must wash some somewhat delicate underthings ;) ) and I can't start that too late.
Be back later!

I'll second that.

The name of the novel is "The Scarlet Letter," not, I would guess, "The Scarlet A."
I was wondering about that one. Hester would not be pleased, I think.
Oh, I thought they were trying to be clever. You take away a "letter" you are left with The Scarlet _____
-
Finally found a minute to watch the video of "Three Friends." Beautiful song, and I liked her voice. But were they doing some sort of version of "Merrily We Roll Along" with the name T-shirts?

I was quite slow on the up-take on that one. Might have been the gin last night.

I gotta tell you.

Nothing has helped, really. In fact, my MacBook Air is loading Internet pages faster - these aren't slow slow but just kind of jerky. MacBook Air, however, is having the same issues with You Tube. I'm re-downloading Flash player for the third time this evening.

Good morning. While Keith works hard replanting plants I have a hike in the mountains planned followed by a trip to the eye doctor. Drops will be put in my eyes so I'm not sure when I will be back to the computer.
I am glad you specified eye doctor; because you taking a hike, followed by a trip to the doctor was getting to be a habit with you.

Got a lot of work done today, but I feel there are still miles to go before I sleep. Again. This is going to be a long week.
Tomorrow I have another work day from home with a funeral in the morning. (Gee, Ginny, is this contagious?) Mine is for someone at church who was always nice to me and everyone else.

I'm beginning to think a call to Time Warner might be in order, to see if this is on their end or if I maybe need a more current modem - the one I have is at least three years old.

An office with no air conditioning, DR Doug R?
Oy!
Or whatever the London equivalent of Oy! Is.
Cor, Blimey!

Wednesday morning greetings! A good night's sleep was just what I needed after yesterday's dental procedure. Today, I get to play in my kitchen, which needs a little rearranging to make room for my new Keurig coffee maker.
oooh aaaah
Enjoy!

-
As a duet?
No. One at a time. But I think, after singing the Porter, that I shall personally re-create ALL of the original choreography. :o
and put it on YouTube I hope

I've unearthed another long-lost photograph of our dear DR Ron Pulliam!

DR Vixmom - this is for you! This is a conceptual drawing of how George R.R. Martin originally envisioned the Iron Throne when he was writing the books:

I guess I'm pretty immature, but I giggle every time I read the name "Bi-Mart." :)
right with ya, SeeSaw, I keep thinking it is a special interest shop

I guess I'm pretty immature, but I giggle every time I read the name "Bi-Mart." :)
I guess I'm naive cuz I don't get it. When we lived in Pennsylvania & I had to tell people to turn left at the Spread Eagle Inn they giggled.
Really?! That was really the name?! Oh gosh we used to have a motel locally called Notel Motel
-
I have wasted half the evening to get nowhere. Have downloaded for the third time the latest and greatest Flash player, and nothing helps. I really am thinking this is stinky Time Warner - I'm going to the AT&T store tomorrow to see about getting their all in one service, which doesn't use a modem at all.
-

In Lacey, there used to be a Bi-Lo. ;)

He looks familiar, but who is Jerry Herman!
Are you Mikey Barnum in disguise?

Wild an
Early lunch meeting was fun and informative - with producer Ed Gaynes and his delightful daughter, Jessica - both were at last Sunday's Kritzerland show.
Wild and Crazy Kids

I called Dramatic Publishing or whatever they're called to see if I could get the sheet music from Three Friends and Nerd - the lady there was very sweet and while they don't have separate music on just those songs she's sending me the entire score gratis. So, I'll have the sheet music, the CD and that will be fun.
NICE!
-
Condolences for Marilyn and her family!
Car starting vibes for DR KEVIN H.
DR VIXMOM, I do not know how covered the lady was......but it was probably something unexpected at a performance of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN.....
As a former breastfeeder when its baby's time to eat ya gotta go with the flow - cos the flow will come no matter what -- and weren't the actors kids? It may have been a sibling having lunch...
-
Have I chased everybody away?

I guess I'm pretty immature, but I giggle every time I read the name "Bi-Mart." :)
You must have gone nuts during the bicentennial.

Okay I am officially sleep deprived and demented I am going to bed

good night!!

SUUUUUUUMERTIIIIIIIME and the work load is craaaaaaazy
Amen. And I didn't even work today. I made the mistake of checking my work email. Something like 15 messages, all supposedly important. And a few of them handled while I was gone. Yippee.
-
Well, one set of writing done. Off to do another.
Good to see you, Vixmom.
-
It's just started to drizzle.

I did do a short mile and a half jog.

WHAT?? Jerry Herman wrote the scores to:
Milk and Honey
Hello, Dolly!
Ben Franklin in Paris
Mame
Dear World
Mack & Mabel
The Grand Tour
La Cage Aux Folles
Miss Spectacular
:D
...and MRS. SANTA CLAUS
-
Yes, I think that was the show she did. I was doing post production on some stinker show at the same facility she was doing voice-overs and that's when I first met her a decade ago.
-
Good night, all.
-
Ginny, I am so sorry to read about your neighbor.
-
Sneaking in to wish everyone a lovely evening. Been trapped in rehearsals for a sinking ship, and getting tires replaced, when I found two had the rubber separating - never safe. All is well now.
Kay, back to the sinking ship. Good luck with your collective butt cheeks.
Ryacko, is this Ismay show a play or a musical?
-
Last rehearsal of ANGEL STREET is over....and now tomorrow night...>WE OPEN!
Break a leg vibes for opening night for Jrand and the cast and crew of ANGEL STREET.
-
I'm not Yacko but I believe it's a play. Depending on when it is, I may go try and see it.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
But I won't.
-
But we did get to page eight.
-
Anyone for page nine?
-
Apparently not.
-
Hard to imagine a very interesting play when the subject is J. Bruce Ismay. Other than climbing into a lifeboat rather than going down with the ship, he was a pretty boring individual.
-
I think the Titanic survivor Molly Brown Tobin would be a good subject for a musical - oh, wait. I heard the demo of this "revisal" version of Molly Brown - I'm not going into detail, but I was not happy with what I heard. Some of it is so wrongheaded that you would expire if I even told you how the show now opens.

BK I was wondering if you had Time Warner. So do I, and I am having the same issues. Everything is sooo slow. I'll be curious to hear what they tell you. I asked a month or so ago and all they did was refresh my modem, which was new in January. My old modem worked better.

TCB, it's a play, not a musical. And it's actually an interesting piece. Not great (it's a work in progress), but good. And Ismay is more interesting than most people know. The play dispels some of the myths about him, since so many paint him as the villain. For instance, he is portrayed in the Cameron film, donning women's clothing to get on the last lifeboat. That was not true at all.
It shows a great deal about how getting in the lifeboat at all was his greatest regret. Follows him through the hearings in the US, which were staged primarily for a Senator to grab headlines for reelection. And how he spent the rest of his life pouring money into charities to help the victims and sailors, etc.
Like I said, not a great play yet, but a good one, and one worth a reading, at least.
