Well, you've read the notes, the notes were dressed to kill, and now it is time for you to post until the one long take cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ORCHIDACEOUS!

ORCHIDACEOUS!

Morning all.
That is all.
-
Thanks you for the post last night, Sam!
-
Good morning, all.
Coffee.
Yes, coffee.

I'm looking at Brian De Palma's filmography. This is a rather shocking revelation, even to myself, but the most recent film of his I saw was MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE. And I've only ever seen it on home video, which tells you how excited I was about that new incarnation of it in 1996.
However, the last one I went to, and actually truly watched, was THE UNTOUCHABLES. That's 1987, folks. Nineteen hundred and eighty-seven. At the Cinerama Dome. And it was a huge thing then, as we all know, and I found it to be fine. On the other hand, I never returned to it or even watched it on cable or home video until fairly recently when I acquired it as part of the new "Gangsters" sets on Blu-ray, and it was indeed nice to see it again, and to see it well.
And though I like Tom Wolfe, I never got around to reading BONFIRE OF THE VANITIES, nor have I seen the film -- because based on Wolfe's earlier books I always thought it more proper to read it first and then see whatever has been done to it. So, I haven't yet made contact with it at all. And I have not the slightest idea what any of his other later films are about. Not the slightest.

I know that how the body reacts to things during the day and during the night can be two entirely different things, whether it's a cold or a pain or what have you. (Why, it's like night and day!) I am hoping to hear that DR ELMORE has gotten a more decent rest than in preceding nights.
-
Good morning, all.
Continued healing vibes for Elmore and all in need.
-
Singsaw, I notice from the later notes yesterday that for a few weeks at least, we are the same age. I have found this year to have been filled with innumerable blessings and I hope your 50th is as well. Enjoy the ride.
-
Good morning, all.
Continued healing vibes for Elmore and all in need.
Ditto from me. John G said it first and best

FROM YESTERDAY
TCB
Congrats on your anniversary. It is never easy as I have friends who are also in recovery as they like to call it.
-
I'm off to the play reading in less than an hour. I hope this will count as my audition as they are going to have a full production of it.
-
There should be doughnuts. :(
-
Continued feel better vibes for DR ELMORE.
Rent the office vibes for DR CILLA LIZ.
Congrats to DR TCB on his anniversary yesterday.....I meant CLOSING NIGHT not NIGHTS.....if that answers the question... :)
-
Sunday....I have a sore throat today.....but I had 15 consultations yesterday, and that's a LOT of talking....but then it always helps the bank account!!!
-
You 50-year-old whippersnappers stay off my lawn!!
-
Good morning, all! I turned off the lights at 9:00om last night, tossed, turned, got up around 10:30 and played at the computer, went back to bed and finally fell asleep around 3am. I really hate this.
-
Vibes to you Dear Larry.
-
I'm having a strange appliance weekend as well: at 10:30 last night my computer shut down. I have no idea if the plug in the power cable died or if some gremlin suddenly shut shut something down, so I plugged it into another outlet and things were fine. Today, i'm having a problem playing a CD I burned from my iTunes playlist on the Big System: the CD player refuses to acknowledge that it has a CD and will not play, yet the burned CD plays fine in my computer.
Best of luck with the office, DR cillaliz!
Thank you all for the continued vibes! Tomorrow is another round of physical therapy, and I look forward to it.
-
I've had my breakfast and my meds, and I think I will do some stretching exercises before I continue with CASTLE 5.
Bruce Pomahac called, and he is going to visit me today around 3:30, which I look forward to. After sitting home all day with little to do, it's nice to have some company. Rob Berman should be back tonight from LA and the Emmy Awards, and he's coming by this week to visit as well.

I'll be on Beverley's show this evening with my review of Pippin. Her show begins at 4pm Eastern Time and runs for 2 hours. I don't know where I'll be in the show, just that I will be on the air.
I'll send out the e-mail blast after the show has aired with TuneScoop information and BWOM (that's Beverley's World of Music) information.
I know that some people will disagree with my review (i.e. they won't like the show) but them's the races. It worked for me and I'm very glad I got a chance to see it, especially before Andrea Martin left (she's no longer in the show).
-
We had scrambled eggs, toast with peach jam, a clapper pear and coffee (me) and tea (Anthony) for breakfast and now I'm listening to more BBC. My dear friend Alex Hall and Songs from the Show on BBC Tees/Newcastle.
Even though it's a beautiful fall Manhattan day we are both in. Anthony is working on the computer in the living room getting some music ready to burn and I'm taking care of business in the other room on the desktop. We will probably go out later for a bit before Beverley's show begins. Anthony has tap class in the late afternoon so he won't be listening to the show.

Good Morning all:
My prayers to DR Elmore to feel better soon!

AND THE QUOTE OF THE DAY IS:

CHAPTER III OF KRITZER TIME!!!!
Haley Mills and Haley Mills. (The Parent Trap)
-
I believe That Sundays should be a day of rest, and no unnecessary work should be done!
I will watch the Bills hopefully win against the Carolina Panthers.
And of course I also will be reading KRITZER TIME, which as far as I'm concerned is a Sibling to CATCHER IN THE RYE!
-
DR BK,
I really have to admire you for sticking to your Diet.
How much weight have you lost??
-
My mistake, Andrea Martin hasn't left Pippin yet. She's in the show for another week. I misspoke earlier and Fred caught the error.
Thanks, Fred.
-
I watched LIFEBOAT last night on TCM. Very Good!!
It was so clever the way Alfred Hitchcock appeared in the movie!
Can anyone guess (without looking it up where)?
-

REAR WINDOW is on TCM tonight at 8:00 PM EST.
This is one of my favorite Hitchcock movies.
I love Jimmy Stewart and of course ,Grace Kelly with all of her fabulous clothes.
I can't believe that Jimmy Stewart's character hesitated to marry her.
He finally woke up when he thought he could lose her!
-
DR BK,
I don't know if you saw my question yesterday, but i was wondering if you ever met Lucille Ball?
-
I saw Lifeboat last night on TCM.
The way Alfred Hitchcock appeared in the movie was very clever. Has anyone seen this movie and know where he is?

Okay, not really. But I need to lose them, too.

We're trying to figure out why the error messages from yesterday - has anyone gotten one today - we think it's because of something to do with the pre-move site - so everyone if you're getting ANY error message, refresh the page and try again.

It has that great Kern song "Remind Me."

It's time for another Broadway Radio Show.....this edition is a fun "theme" show (we haven't done one of these in ages)......we listen to showtunes about "Boys" and "Girls".....lots of classics, but also some I suspect you've never heard before......ENJOY!!!

Continued feel better vibes for DR ELMORE.
Rent the office vibes for DR CILLA LIZ.
Congrats to DR TCB on his anniversary yesterday.....I meant CLOSING NIGHT not NIGHTS.....if that answers the question... :)
Thanks JRand. I know he's going to take the office, well, I don't KNOW, but the last thing he said to me was that he thinks we can work this out. AND his wife stopped by when I was out on Friday. Edith said her reaction was "OH this is NICE" not sure what she expected, but if she gives it the seal of approval, it's just about a done deal.
Anyway, I think the question is if he'll counter my rent/extras proposal or just say yes. I gave him a fair number but did allow a little wiggle room by including some things I can take back if he wants to pay less, so I'm very confident it's going to happen.
-
Sunday....I have a sore throat today.....but I had 15 consultations yesterday, and that's a LOT of talking....but then it always helps the bank account!!!
No more sore throat vibes~~~~~~~~~~
-
Good news DR CILLA LIZ.
I watched a remake of The 39 STEPS on THIS TV today - it was made in 1959 and starred Kenneth More and Taina Elg....I didn't even know such a remake had happened. Immediately following on COZI TV was the original Hitchcock version.....
-
The site of Kenneth More in baggy bicycle type shorts was most disturbing.
-
I do keep getting the "less than 5 seconds" error message, but refreshing does get rid of it.
-
This morning I went back to Wal-Mart and got a nice mini fridge that has a separate freezer compartment - 2 doors instead of just the mini-fridge with the plastic door inside and the tiny freezer compartment. Both Edith and I like to keep a frozen dinner (Smart ones or Lean Cuisine type stuff) in the freezer for days when we are too busy to go home for lunch. The old freezer compartment was broken and barely held 2 dinners even when it was defrosted. So I took the new fridge down, moved some more furniture around a little and hauled the old one out. It's looking good

I'm impressed DR Brockman, your prize is that I'm impressed!!
-
And this one has is a bit larger. We can keep more snacks there. I've been meaning to replace the fridge ever since the freezer door broke off, just haven't gotten around to it. This was a good excuse to do it.
-
I do keep getting the "less than 5 seconds" error message, but refreshing does get rid of it.
I got it a lot yesterday. I did clear my cache last night, so I had to log in again. So far I haven't gotten it today
-
DR BK,
I would have really been jealous of you if you had met Miss Lucille Ball!
-
Looking for good apple recipes, especially for apples that may still be a titch green. I had to pick a lot of apples yesterday so the poor little tree didn't break - some are ripe, but some are still pretty sour. I'm thinking about making a big batch of apple sauce. I'm assuming I can freeze homemade apple sauce....or do you have to can it?
-
But it would have been nice to get your opinion of what she was like!
-
I give you credit BK for your 35 lb weight loss.
How do you control yourself?
-
WHERE IN TARNATION IS EVERYONE!!!
-
Cillaliz, you can freeze applesauce.
-
Well I just talked to Brother KevinH.
He is quite the jet setter. He is off to NYC soon.
I envy his adventureness!
-
Beverley's show is on live right now.
Beverley's World of Music (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radiowales)
Click on Listen Live, a new window will open and you can listen. As I said, I don't know when I'll be on but if you're so inclined, let it play in the background and have a listen.

Watching Fried Green Tomatoes....one of my favorite movies

I like apple crisp. Or just baking sliced apples with a little brown sugar on top.

The Buffalo Bills have just Won with 6 seconds left in the game!!
-
I excited for our Buffalo Bills!!!
-
This may be our Winning year.
GO BILLS!!!
-
DR Cillaliz,
I also loved Fried Green Tomatoes. In fact I do have the DVD. I watched it several years ago.
I now want to see it again. I will try to watch it this week!
-
Again, WE IN TARNATION IS EVERYONE!!
Well goodbye for now. I think I'll go read Kritzer Time!
-
DR cillaliz, apple pie! Still the greatest thing ever!
My mother, in her saner days, made great pie crust and her apple pies were something special. After she went off the deep end, she stopped cooking, but my childhood memories of her desserts - doughnuts, cookies, pastries, pies, puddings, popcorn balls every Halloween - are something I cherish. By the time I was in high school her unhappiness had taken over, and she was never the same.
-
Bruce just left, and it was a wonderful visit. He's such a good friend, and I got to show him my ROBERTA and DEAREST ENEMY session photos and catch up on all the dish.

Oh, THAT Bruce.
-
Thanks for the good wishes, DR John G.
I am enjoying 5-0 so far! :)
-
Had some bacon and eggs and will just have an artichoke later at The Federal. I'll jog in a couple of hours.
-
I do love apple pie and know you can freeze it. I'm not a pie baker......but I'm going to try to do an apple pie. I could probably do a dozen apple pies
-
I just came from a lovely party with lots of friends and family. There was (vegan) cake and lots of amazing food and presents. It couldn't happen yesterday, but it was nice to celebrate today.
I am ready for a nap. But it's really too late in the afternoon for a nap now.
-
The latest edition of the Food Network magazine has a lot of apple recipes.
-
Thanks Singdaw....I may have that one.....if not I'll get it. I'm going to try pie and just found out you can freeze apple sauce. I love applesauce and have the freezer space, so I may do a big pot of that

OMG I love this. It's a perfect fit for me and math. I HATE math. It was my worst subject in school (I take that back, due to a fascistic, mean, arrogant ex-marine son-of-a-bitch phys ed teacher I hated gym even more than math).
-
I agree, DR Ben!
I do hate to admit it, but I still occasionally use my rusty algebra to solve real-world problems with practical solutions. But other than that, fie on math. :)

Here is my review of Pippin from Beverley's World of Music on BBC Radio Wales. It's the TuneScoop Link

I got a similar notice between my last two posts, DR Jane. It wouldn't let me post the second one. I cut and pasted it onto text edit, deleted the post it wouldn't accept and then cut and pasted it back onto a new reply screen.

I can't log out since I cannot remember my password, and there's no way on this site to retrieve it; only info on how to reset it.

Lots of Hitchcock movies on lately! I saw the last 2/3 of The Man Who Knew Too Much on TCM earlier. One of my favorites. And one of Benjamin Kritzer's favorites too, as I recall!
-
I haven't had trouble posting.
Lucky you :)
-
They'll figure it out, but not until they're back in the office tomorrow. It's probably something simple, and I see one thing that I could change now that might help it, but I kind of want them to do it.
-
Uh oh - Nina Foch is on Bonanza...I remember this one....she is cousin Clarissa who wants to take Hop Sing's place.
Unfortunately this is from 1967 and Pernell Roberts as Adam is long gone.....I forget where they said he went....and there are several versions and memories of the situation online....gone to sea, gone to college, gone to San Francisco....
The Ponderosa was never quite the same without him.
-
DR Jrand is your throat feeling better after resting it?

HEAVENS TO BETSY! I believe I failed to acknowledge TCB's impressive anniversary. I am very proud of you dear Tommy
-
Well today was a loooooooooooooong day
-
I arrive at church at 8 AM, made 8 pots of coffee, sliced 5 cakes and arranged them on platters, set out 72 mini cupcakes and muffins on platters, poured 3 dozen cups of juice, made up 3 dozen cups of pretzels and 2 dozen of animal crackers, and set up tables and chairs for the flu shot clinic
-
By then it was 9 AM and I slipped into church, attended the service and acted as communion assistant
-
Slipped out of church as the final hymn began so I could be ready to serve coffee
-
Second service began so I made another 6 pots of coffee sliced 4 cakes and arranged them on platters, set out 48 mini cupcakes and muffins on platters, poured 3 dozen cups of juice, made up 3 dozen cups of pretzels and washed dried and put away the platters and coffee cups we were done with
-
I just got the 5 second message again... I refreshed and then it allowed me to post
-
Then I did this
-
Then I served the congregation from the second service, washed, dried and put away all the coffee pots and platters
-
thanked the pharmacists and sent them on their way, went to the Oktoberfest meeting and starting setting up for the afternoon reception for the Installation of our new Associate Pastor
-
I, too, forgot to mention congrats to dear TCB!
-
Then drove out to the local BJ's and picked up the deli platters I ordered yesterday and drove back to join the other ladies setting up for the reception
-
And now I'm going to bed. It will be a long week at the office and I'm looking forward to the Wizard of Oz next Friday night.
-
Well, "Hollywood Who Done It" is over and I did my treasurer training yesterday. Today, I slept in, checked some e-mail, then went to my sister's for a while. I was supposed to bring her some hummus that I got, but I totally forgot to bring the hummus. Oh, well. I'll see her again. Now, I have a LOT of ketchuping to do!
-
The first thing is A Very Happy (Belated) Birthday to DR Singdaw!! :D
-
Then I robed and joined the other Assisting Ministers, the Deacons and the Pastors and processed into the church took part in a beautiful Installation service , processed back out, and enjoyed a lovely reception
-
Then I assisted cleaning up and finally headed home around 7 PM
-
Then I realized we were out of a few essentials so stopped and did some grocery shopping
-
I am tired
-
Congratulations to DR George on a successful run!

So, is anyone going to watch/has anyone watched The Miss America Pageant tonight? It's going to start in an hour. I really do like the talent competition.
-
Happy 20 year and one day birthday to TCB.....sorry I'm late, but it is one day at a time ;)
-
I don't know if anyone else is watching The Newsroom, but I loved it tonight.
-
We just finished watching the Newsroom - I liked how it ended but we weren't very happy with the show this season
-
Because of the way it ended, Vixdad believes it was not renewed
-
We're trying to figure out why the error messages from yesterday - has anyone gotten one today - we think it's because of something to do with the pre-move site - so everyone if you're getting ANY error message, refresh the page and try again.
The only error message that I got was the you-posted-too-soon-since-your-last-post message, but I didn't think that I was that quick.

~~~Ankle Vibes for DR Jeanne!!~~~
A braceful of vibes.
Great photo, Singdaw.
I am having trouble posting twice in a row. I get an error message saying I can't post two within five seconds, even if a minute or more has passed.
(This very message is being posted in a second attempt.)
-
Great photo, Vixmom. I like the name Lutheran Chick. Seems to fit.
-
Thanks John
And you didn't receive a notice you posted too quickly? I just had that happen between my 1st & 2nds posts on page 3. And again just now while trying to post on this quote.
When I attempt to re-post it says I already posted.
I got a similar notice between my last two posts, DR Jane. It wouldn't let me post the second one. I cut and pasted it onto text edit, deleted the post it wouldn't accept and then cut and pasted it back onto a new reply screen.
This is what I did, too.
The tequila dinner was a lot of fun. And most people liked the tart because there was so little sugar in it. In fact, there was only sugar in the crust and a little dusting on the outside of the crust. I think there was one or two that wanted it sweeter.
The tequilas were quite wonderful.
-
And I have to get up early for work tomorrow. Bother.
Good night, all.
Here is my review of Pippin from Beverley's World of Music on BBC Radio Wales. It's the TuneScoop Link
That's great, Ben!
Great picture, David!
I watched LIFEBOAT last night on TCM. Very Good!!
It was so clever the way Alfred Hitchcock appeared in the movie!
Can anyone guess (without looking it up where)?
In A Newspaper Ad. Do I Win A Prize?
I'm impressed DR Brockman, your prize is that I'm impressed!!
And I'm Impressed That You're Impressed!!!
We just finished watching the Newsroom - I liked how it ended but we weren't very happy with the show this season
What didn't you like?
-
Because of the way it ended, Vixdad believes it was not renewed
I was thinking that, but then they all said they aren't resigning, so....
-
I still haven't had that error message since I logged out and logged in again
-
Sorry I have been absent all day. We had some bad ightening storms this afternoon. And, of course (I know you knew this), the Seahawks are playing tonight on NBC.
-
:)
Good evening.
Good evening.
The end of the weekend.
-
I'm watching Miss America and I'm still waiting for the live (well, tape delayed) talent competition. Miss Florida, who twirled batons, injured her ACL during the preliminary competition and has to wear a leg brace. She re-did the preliminaries and won!
-
The evening gowns are, of course, gorgeous.
-
My afternoon, at my boyfriends ;D
I did sit in the living room, in front of the TV, most of the day, watching football.
I was quizzed, A LOT, about what I remember from last season.
The ball moves back and forth, what's for dinner ?
-
The day was fun. :)
Football and living rooms are good company.
Did I mention recliners and TV trays.
:)
-
Good night everyone.
Sweet dreams.
:) ;)
-
Did i see a photo of one of the Miss America contestants in a bikini (with tattoos) ?
-
Miss Oklahoma is the first performer and she's introduced, "Singing Everybody Says Don't from the musical, Everyone Can Whistle...."
??? What??
-
:)
-
She has a nice voice and singing it quite well, but she's smiling through the whole song and not actually "performing" it...just my opinion.
-
Back from this weird birthday bash where someone threw themselves a birthday party and had a bunch (twelve) singers sing in his club. It would never occur to me to do anything quite like that, but it was fine and some of the singers did a good job, especially Jason Graae, who, as always, killed. Our Jenna Lea Rosen did her Dear Mr. Gershwin number - and came through like a pro in the face of some of the worst piano playing I've ever heard. Jenna was asked at the last minute to do it, and we sent them the chart with all the accents and markings from our show as well as the link to the video. All this guy had to do was watch it, make notes, and play it, but that apparently was too much for him and so instead there were no downbeats, no accents and poor Jenna just had to really sell and keep in it, which she did like the pro she is.
-
Miss New York is up next and twice now, she didn't hear her name being called.
Hmm...I wonder what that means for her chances.
-
She Indian (from India) and is doing a Bollywood dance. She's very good. MBarnum should be watching this!
FROM YESTERDAY
TCB
Congrats on your anniversary. It is never easy as I have friends who are also in recovery as they like to call it.
Thank you, Mike, I really appreciate it.
-
Continued feel better vibes for DR ELMORE.
Rent the office vibes for DR CILLA LIZ.
Congrats to DR TCB on his anniversary yesterday.....I meant CLOSING NIGHT not NIGHTS.....if that answers the question... :)
Thank you, Jack.
No, I'm sorry, I thought George's show closed last week.
-
I just went to post again and got this message"
The last posting from your IP was less than 5 seconds ago. Please try again later.
My response is, what is this bullshit?
I believe that would be bullfish.
-
I haven't had trouble posting.
That is because you are a friend of Barbra.
Nice photo, David!
The top two Miss America contestants are both Asian! Miss California is Chinese and Miss New York is Indian (India). And I just came across an article that said Miss California's name is Crystal Lee and Miss Hawaii is ALSO named Crystal Lee. That's the first time that two contestants with the same name competed together.
-
HEAVENS TO BETSY! I believe I failed to acknowledge TCB's impressive anniversary. I am very proud of you dear Tommy
Thanks, Debby, I really appreciate it.
-
Now, it's over. I won't say who won, but I hope that no one minds at least knowing the top two. :)
-
I, too, forgot to mention congrats to dear TCB!
Thank you, Ben.
-
A Very Happy (Belated) AA Anniversary to DR TCB!!
Thank you, George.
-
Happy 20 year and one day birthday to TCB.....sorry I'm late, but it is one day at a time ;)
Thank you, Cilla. 20 years and 1 day.
