And the word of the day is: KNACKER!
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
Mercury retrograde ends today, so things should start looking up.
From DR John:
Is that what children are for? To clean the house?
From Cilla:
I have no children, my house is a mess, my wallet doesn't stay full and my heart isn't empty. I just get irritated with some of those sayings that go around
I am feeling much better, and everyone is blessed today because I seem to have lost my voice....
Posting from church, as I am here 7:00am Mass this morning to run a video. It's nice to see the looks on people's faces when I walk into the church before this Mass (which is the Mass without music on Sunday - except for Easter) They vary from "<smile> - which translates, "YAY were going to have music" to <scowl> - which translates to "how dare you interrupt my personal prayer time and make me sing"
Good times :)
My phone just rang, I answered it, and a woman's voice asked, "How are you feeling?" It sounded like DR Ginny, so I started talking, and she said, "I think I dialed the wrong number." So, I said, it was nice talking to you, and hung up. How weird!
Remember : Cold season is starting and cows seek heat on car hoods. do not forget to tap on the hood to give the cow enough time to get off before you drive away!
Last night I watched, for the first time since I saw in in the theatre around 1996, Ang Lee's glorious film of SENSE AND SENSIBILITY, which is s much better than its source novel. I love Miss Austen, but she was still finding her way in that book. It's hard to believe that, with no more fumbling around, she followed it up with PRIDE AND PREJUDICE.
Thank you DR FJL.....it's working its way back.
My sister Paula has been having COMPUTER problems.....I worked on it a bit....but finally I just went to WalMart and bought her another one....she was very surprised and happy.....
Last night, I saw a production of God of Carnage which I enjoyed quite a bit. I had never seen the play before. I thought it was well done and all 4 actors were really great. I can see it being not so great if even one of the actors wasn't strong.
As the person said there: "You can't sing a protest song without a fabulous gown, a glamorous wig, and matching heels."
Started watching "The Bishop's Wife" again. Don't know if I'll have time to watch it all tonight, but 10 minutes into it and I'm suckered into it, hook, line and sinker.

Hello, everyone.
I think DR Kevin needs perma travel vibes.
I'm also pleased to hear that there's a carousel museum (however you wish to spell it).
DR JANE - DR JEANNE is correct....Clark Kent's suit is made from a special fabric that folds flatter than an envelope and special glasses and shoes as well, and the entire package is placed in a pouch inside his cape....very convenient.
Good afternoon, all! I debated staying in bed for the rest of my life, and I was having a bizarre dream about talking bankruptcy to a receptionist at the Leonard Bernstein publishing co,'s offices while a typhoon raged outside, water was leaking in the windows and Broadway was going through hell, and my friend Charlie Harmon was in meetings with Jean Druesedow, the woman whose graduate assistant I was in 1969 and 1970.
That was all pretty horrifying, but so is my life at the moment, and I'm both scared and angry. I'll try not to let too much of this onto HHW, but things do not bode good for me at present, and staying in bed is my metaphorical means of burying my head in the sand.

I've had a very busy day today, but with very little to show for it in terms of a list of accomplishments.

In honor of THOR hammering all the competition at the movies, isn't it a good time to take another look at Debbie Reynolds' version of IF I HAD A HAMMER from the Scopitones days?

fifteen minutes to Venice Blvd. via the freeway and then ten minutes from there to the theater
Had another good drill rehearsal, made a couple of decisions, added a song, made a duet a solo. Then we ate at a bbq jernt on Lincoln that's gotten raves from all over, including the Food Network show, Diners, Dives and whatever. Simply put, one of the worst meals I've ever eaten. I love bbq and I love most of all Kansas City, where the sauce is sweet. Here all the sauces were tart and vinegary and tasted bad. The pulled pork had no flavor at all, the cornbread was grotesque, the cole slaw a bore, the creamed spinach inedible, and needless to say I won't be going back.
Very surreal catching up on the posts.
Seems "Big Fish" is nearing its expiration date. A closing has been set for December.

Hello! DR Kate and I went to our great-nephew's 1st birthday party at the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum:

Some of the adults even rode the carrousel
I think DR Kevin needs perma travel vibes.

What happened to the photo?? Grrrr.
Sunday evening greetings from W. 54th St! Our flight was smooth and took less time than getting from Newark to our apartment. We took the bus, which left us at Port Authority. We tried to get a taxi from there, but ended up walking the 12 blocks. I'm having trouble getting the wireless - posting with my phone instead. Not very convenient...
The weird thing about the board and posting was that the board itself was fine - it loaded, I read posts, got from page to page, but just couldn't post.

You are all very lucky to be close the way you are.
Elmore, I think you should go to the party and be charming - you never know, it may lead to something
Some of the adults even rode the carrousel
I would have.

I did!
I think I went boating once...Where you're moving to, boating is not suggested for those 11 months of snow.

Hubris. The reviews weren't that great in Chicago, as I recall. I still would like to see it, since I know several of the cast. I've known Andrew Lippa since he got to New York after University of Michigan and joined the Gay men's Chorus 20 years ago. I'm not much of a fan.
Four!

I know that Kevin has been visiting, but why hasn't Kate been around today?Yes, I have missed Kate, too.
Four!
I couldn't get my post to work.

We're watching the homeward bound telethon on the Military Channel (didn't know there was such a channel). It's to raise money for veterans.
Jason Gould is supposed to be singing. Connie Francis is one of the people behind the telethon. She was on but didn't sing.
test post
Testing to see if I can post yet.
Something is going on and we're trying to figure out what
Our tech guy is all over this. It may be smf and not the host - trying to figure out
I came home and we were on page three, which wasn't right at all. Then my posts wouldn't go through, then I called and while the tech was looking for the problem, we suddenly were well into page four, now page five and a bunch of repeated posts, although that could be because we were all trying to post the same thing multiple times. Very weird. Hopefully we'll be okay from here on in, but our excellent tech is monitoring and still poking around.
I'm not much of a fan.
