More nice remembrances from DR JEANNE yesterday and thanks to DR ryacko for sharing his story.
Happy Birthday to DR ChasSmith!
Apparently no one knows any youn people in the US because the amount of homework they are given is insane and probably quadruple what we used to get. It is hours upon hours and involves every class. As to algebra and geometry leading to abstract thinking, I think pretty abstractly and I took neither class
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR CHASSMITH!!
Wishing you a wondrous celebration day!!
We've returned from Target, proud owners of 700 white lights that we now have to string on the Christmas tree - my least favorite holiday chore.

In my high school we had the option of taking High School Math - and that's what I took. I hated all that stuff - science, math - just not for me and why should I be forced to take something that's not for me - make it an elective.

I would find that quite awkward. Better, I think, to print it out, as you did.
AND we have a new script that is only available electronically, so we have been asked to bring our laptops with the script on it.
perhaps I am a grinch or just poor but I cannot imagine spending $15,000.00 for a dog

DR Cillaliz - I did not know (or had forgotten) that you also play the piano! :)
Good morning, all! 2014 can only be better! I awakened with what I hope is not a stomach virus, but I am clearly under the weather at the moment. Between my gimp leg, a longterm project folding, my latest wound, and my state of mind, 2014 can only be an improvement over the past five months! So much for self pity.
I did sleep really well last night....
And Peter O'Toole in My Favorite Year.
I don't remember a lot of homework in the grades. Maybe a couple work sheets or something. I had a fair amount in high school. I took all the college prep classes....well I didn't take calculus or physics in high school, but all the rest. So there was always math home work, reading for lit classes etc. I was also in choir, swing choir, band, jazz band, and a multitude of small groups, did theater, debate and I'm sure I'm leaving out some things. We rehearsed jazz band at 7:30 am and we finished with swing choir about 7:30 at night, 9:00 if we were rehearsing a play. So I was at school most of the time. It seems like there was still time to mess around with friends and get homework done

You haven't changed, organized, productive, and great amounts of energy & focus. :)

I don't know that Edith would agree with that, lol.
And Peter O'Toole in My Favorite Year.
My Favorite Year is one of my favorite movies
And I'm afraid it has happened.
Joan Fontaine has also died at the age of 96
Wow. Not a good day for some to get out of bed.
And I am off to bed. Physical therapy in the morning.

Today, I ushered for "It's a Wonderful Life," starring our very own TCB...and here's the proof!

Don't worry about it, Tom. I figured that you would just want to get home after a weekend of performances. :)

I have just been in lots of pain the last three days, I don't know why.

Chinese take out? If you had told me, I would have decorated your tree.
This woman came up to me after the show. She said that she loves the movie version of IAWL, and she watches it faithfully every year. And she said she thought I was better than Lionel Barrymore. I don't know about that, but it was a very nice thing for her to say.
