We have our new Daisy Mae - the very talented Maddy Claire Parks - she's done one of our Kritzerland shows, and starred in Oklahoma at Musical Theater West, and she's Betty Garrett's granddaughter, so comes from very good stock. Beautiful legit voice and beautiful inside and out. Very happy to have her.
My father passed last night. The family was with him when he took his final breath. There is a lot to do during the next few days.
So, was the pizza guy a real pizza guy or an actor...or both?
So, was the pizza guy a real pizza guy or an actor...or both?
Here's what the TODAY SHOW reported:
Midway through the show, a pizza deliveryman walked out on stage and presented DeGeneres with boxes of pizza from Big Mama & Papa’s Pizzeria, a small chain in the Los Angeles area that’s a favorite of DeGeneres’ talk show. He was no actor, but a real employee of the restaurant. The shop is known for its Giant Sicilian, which is cut into 200 square slices and serves 50-70 people, although the pizzas delivered onstage were of normal size.

I wonder how much the guy took home in tips.

Yes, I saw Joan.... I really thought they would close with Joan or Shirley Temple rather than an overdose case.....but I was wrong.

I too was surprised that it didn't close with Peter O'Toole, or Shirley or Joan, but alas this Oscars broadcast didn't even have the decency to fully acknowledge and appreciate Liza and the importance of having her there to pay tribute to her mother and the iconic WoO. I am of a mind that the producers chose to ignore the old Hollywood.
I'm reading a list of actors snubbed in the "In Memoriam" segment and am shocked Joan Fonatine was left out. Is this true? I'm also wondering why they included tv & commercial actors in the snubbed list. The first name mentioned is Cory Monteith-was he even in a movie?

Joan Fontaine was there.
Michael Ansara and Jonathan Winters were not.
I believe I saw Joan Fontaine in there - sure of it.

Talk about a lost opportunity...a duet with Liza AND Lorna singing "Over the Rainbow" would've been fantastic!

Ansara I understand as I don't think he was in any films, not that I am against including him. Supposedly that don't include tv "only" actors. Of course if they stuck to that rule Michael Jackson would not have been included the year he died.
I didn't watch the Oscars last night. However, I did catch most of the opening monologue. I was quite amused by John Travolta's mistake, no matter who's fault it was. I'm not a fan of said actress.

I am shocked, shocked! You are forgetting "Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy"!
Larry Hagman had a career (mostly TV, some small movie roles) very comparable to Michael Ansara's, and I am almost dead certain (sorry, couldn't avoid that pun) that he was included in last year's obituary segment. Most viewers may not know Michael Ansara by name, but to anyone who is a Trekker, he will always be Kang the Klingon.
If you need a laugh, watch and be patient....

That was hilarious, DR Jane!
I just realized that Russell Johnson was also snubbed. While he was mainly known as The Professor on "Gilligan's Island", he was in the sci-fi movie cult classic, "This Island Earth" and several other movies. He certainly was worthy of recognition.
a very small Bernese Mountain Dog.
Jean Stapleton was also snubbed. I hope she forgives me for forgetting her as I've been watching "All in the Family" in recent days.

I didn't know such a thing existed. :)
Let's see if we can top it tonight!
I just read something so funny. There is a new game where you put in your name and they tell you how John Travolta would pronounce it. This stems from him calling Idina Menzel by the name Adele Dazeem.

I am Jessica Morzgan.
I'm going to finish watching the awards and hear Travolta instead of simply reading about it.

Shortly I shall be on my way to sound check and then show.
Wes Anderson's upcoming movie sounds intriguing; great cast:

The news showed the clip of the idiot screwing up all morning. I've always thought he was a creep, and now i think he's a creepy moron.

I have to wonder how he didn't know her name since he is a fan of Broadway musicals.

Whether he's a fan of broadway or not, he should have known who he was going to introduce

Congratulations to DR Elmore for the DEAREST ENEMY reviews.
Looks like everyone is all posted out
