Quite possibly.
Except that those are chocolate chips. :)
It seems to be it has become a day like St. Valentine, President's, Memorial just to celebrate and have sales. People seem to forget what it really is all about.
I know that's meant to confuse, but if anyone is looking for stringpaw, he's "Thither".
Thanks DR BEN for the information about tablets. I was asking because I have WIRED internet, not WIFI, so I would have to find some kind of hot spot to use a tablet.
I don't know from St Patrick's Day. Although I knew a Patrick who was born on St. Patrick's Day.

Thank you, bk. Because of the reviews, I was not going to go out of my way to see "The Book Thief." I had loved the book too much. I would have eventually seen it, I'm sure, but now I'm actively going to seek it out.
Great dance, Mr. Pulliam.
The earthquake this morning was intense - short, though. I just did what I always do - sat in bed and kept saying, "Stop, stop, stop" until the thing listened to me. It probably wasn't the ten seconds I thought, more like six.

BK's comments about not going to Facebook after the earthquake reminded me that a friend of mine has coined (he believes he's coined) a word for folks on FB who seem oblivious to so many things:
"Oblivipods" is the word.

I've gone missing for a couple of days, partly because my lovely Irish mother was in the hospital, and there was a real fear of losing her yesterday. Happily, she made it through an emergency surgery and is in ICU for recovery. So far, so good.

Thanks DR BEN....yes I am charged a rental fee for my modem....but it is updated whenever I ask....
I purchased a D-Link Wireless router which should work with my modem....and I purchased a medium priced tablet with a keyboard case.....so I should be working with them both by the end of the week....
I particularly wanted the tablet to use when I am rehearsing at the theatre so that I can post on Facebook each time I finish blocking a scene or choreographing a musical number. I have to keep my friends informed, you know.
DR Mike - Karen won the Tony several years back for her Anita in the revival of West Side Story.
DR Mike is right, of course, that the meal and probably just about everything else have absolutely nothing whatever to do with St. Patrick or with being Irish. I am none of the above, myself. I just love the food, and will eat a nice corned beef at the drop of a hat. And at the drop of another hat.

My library just got Gravity and Catching Fire. So it will be a big movie week for me as I'm going to see Divergent on Wednesday.
I don't actually love going to the movie theatre, as I have a hard time sitting for that long. For some reason my knees don't like being scrunched up like that.

It was indeed intense--lots of shaking rather than the rolling kind. Yes, five or six seconds, rather than ten. I normally just sit still and wait to see if something more is happening. Today, though, perhaps because I was sleeping, it scared me and I was thinking, "This could be a big one," and jumped out of bed.
I can see it now. Jolt happens and the immediate reaction of everyone is to grab whatever device is handy and post to Facebook. I mean withi five second.

Also, I do not like corned beef and cabbage. My mom is actually making some for dinner tonight, but my sister and niece are vegans, so they'll bring their own foodstuffs, and I'll bring my own, also (probably a Subway sandwich ;) ). My parents will be the only ones eating the corned beef and cabbage.
Wow, I also have a plumbing story for today. Relating to things being green, the pool at my apartment complex is on the fritz again, and so, as a result, we have been without water for at least 2 hours now. I'm so glad I started cooking my dinner earlier. I'm not Irish, but I like corned beef. I do not like putting it all in the same boiling water. I bake everything separately in the oven, and make braised cabbage on the stove top. Not that I'm a big cabbage person. (That last sentence is hanging out there like a perfect pitch to hit out of the ballpark for DR singdaw!)

I'm very glad to know that our SoCal contingent is OK after today's earthquake.
That is one hell of a story, DR Elmore.

The leak is indeed from the bathtub above mine, so I am stuck here tomorrow waiting for the damned plumbers to repair the problem they caused today. I can hear the water falling onto the floor and i will probably need another new bathroom ceiling. Color me Extremely Pissed. That's No. 107 in your Crayola box.

So . . . no one told the tenants above me about the leak and she just took a shower. My bathroom is a total shambles. I went up and spoke to her husband about the situation,we agree the plumbers are assholes, and he said that would be the end of the tub unril the plumber shows up. There's a good half-inch of water on the floor and it was pouring from the ceiling in about 10-12 places.

There's a small hallway just off the bathroom, where the closets are. It's perfect--no windows and I could close both doors if glass were flying. We've had earthquakes before, of course, but I've never taken refuge there before.
DR Jane the theatre I usually go to is stadium. And it bothers me a lot. The one on Wed is a new IMAX theatre so I have no idea. I am just praying that nobody around me will have perfume on. I will sit on an aisle. So it will only be the person in front and behind. I usually try to go to the theatre when it will not be full.

You know that phono cartridge I said probably should be up for replacement by now? Of course you do. You've thought of nothing else since I posted of it.
Well, guess what happened yesterday. It broke! I put a record on the turntable and found the stylus (the part with the LI'L diamond or whatever the needles are made of) BENT. The poor little thing was turned at a right angle to the grooves!
I was actually able to nudge it back into alignment (more or less) just enough to check out this record for a minute. It didn't play well, but I heard what I needed to hear. And in the end, no harm done. It had probably gone many hundreds of hours over its expected service life, and I will do some research today on what to replace it with. It's not that I needed something new to spend money on, but let's face it, getting a new one that will probably sound fabulous will be kind of nice.

Why do they live there?

Well it is still very cold here now. But often in April it is nice. And May. June, July and August are usually fairly hot. I would say it is 80s in July and August. And September is usually nice as well.

I was just at a "sidecar" party downstairs. Not the traditional St. Patrick's day drink of choice. But one guest was wearing a green derby and green flashing sunglasses.
