Well I have my cast.....I wanted 18, right now I have 17. I still have to cast Lt. Brannigan which I can do sometime between now and opening!
Last night two high school students came. One was a 17 year old girl who said she wanted to be Adelaide or nothing. She sang...it was okay....she read, it was terrible....and she couldn't dance. After the dance audition I told her that I would not cast her as Adelaide and if she was NOT interested in another role tell me so I wouldn't include her in our casting discussions. She said she wanted to be in the show.
Her friend, an 18 year old high school boy, arrived at 8:30 - 90 minutes late....did the dance audition with the other men. Then he sang and read....and was okay.
My friend Cameron who was in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE and CAMELOT and THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE also came last night.
Our casting discussion went on until about 9:30. We had just the right mix of voices for all of the songs.
AND....you guessed it, all three of the mentioned dumb asses declined the roles and did not want to be in the show.
So this morning I found a couple of others that will be better than the two high school kids and probably about the same as Cameron.....they are very excited to be in the show.
These three names will be given to the director of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.
DR Ron Pulliam neglected to turn the page.

All the videos start with no sound and freeze up at 8 seconds (give or take 2 seconds) mark. I try to refresh but the same problems happens.

I am officially senile. I ordered a new camera because I thought my old one was broken. Turns out that I was trying to put the battery in backwards.
Just shoot me.

Hello Fellow DRs! I've been E & T for a variety of reasons. I had some friends stay over until yesterday. I got to visit with the medical staff that had treated me while in hospital last year (I will try to share some pics). But, I've been in a panic 'cause I have a blood test tomorrow and I can't help but worry since my white blood cell counts have been quite low. I want to remain cancer free and healthy. Plus, my job applications yielded nothing. So, I haven't been in the best frame of mind these last couple of days.
BK, thank you for the song you wrote with Mr. Sherman. It helped elevate my mood! :)
I hope no one confuses croquettes with croquet...

I don't mind pan fried chicken..
Greetings to one and all
this week is nothing but meetings over food.
This talk of pan fried chicken is starting to bug me, man. I was thinking about it recently, how that was just about the only way I had chicken in the first however many years of my life. I can remember the large frying pans or skillets, and later, electric skillets, absolutely sizzling with it.....usually on Sundays, but other times, too.
While I enjoy the occasional national chain fried chicken meal as much as anyone, I'd thought recently about how, as tasty as they are, not one of these places serves an actual piece of fried chicken like what I knew as a kid. The modern processes just don't equate. I LOVE Colonel Sanders' secret herbs and spices, the extra-crispy, etc., and in the '80s I used to love taking home Pioneer Chicken from the place on Sunset Blvd. (unfortunately, I have no real memory of what theirs tasted like, but there was something about the place and the menu selections that I just really liked a lot). I have managed to have Popeye's all of twice, since they have no outlets local to me, so I have no real sense of their variety. And a lot of people swear by Roy Rogers chicken, but now there are none of those around here, either.
So where was I going with that? Anyway, the idea of ordering fried chicken somewhere just never occurs to me, other than the very occasional take-out from KFC. I've never been one for trying to fry chicken myself, either. I would just like someone ELSE (as DR John G. noted) to do it for me!
One nice but brief childhood memory is from one of our family car trips between Ohio and Florida, in the days just before you could drive it all on interstates. This time, we went through Corbin, Kentucky, and stopped for lunch at the large and bustling original Colonel Sanders restaurant for a sit-down fried chicken meal. I'd like to do that again, right now.
