Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of croquettes, chicken or otherwise, and now it is time for you to post until the cow croquettes come home.

You Tube is endlessly and needlessly confusing, and when you click "share" it defaults to a code that plays EVERYTHING on your channel instead of just the one video - you have to uncheck a box to get the proper code - that's why it was playing everything yesterday.  I'm going to try and edit the Facebook posts - the notes have just the single videos.

LOVE the new Sherman/Kimmel song!  It's just so light and bouncy and fun!  And the other videos were wonderful, too!  Great singers matched with great songs. :D

still have problems watching and listening to the videos. don't know why. Perhaps someone here can help out. No matter which venue, HHW, Facebook or you tube itself. All the videos start with no sound and freeze up at 8 seconds (give or take 2 seconds) mark. I try to refresh but the same problems happens.

TOD

I just cooked this on Saturday and it was a big success.

Brazilian Curry Chicken

Ingredients
1.5-2 lbs chicken, throw in a mixture of boneless, skinless thighs AND breasts*
¾ cup coconut milk
2 tablespoons tomato paste
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon ground ginger
4-6 tablespoons curry powder (hell, throw in the whole jar!! kidding)
2 bell peppers, chopped into 1 cubes (i used yellow and red)
1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup chicken broth
Instructions
Grab out your crock pot!!
Add in the coconut milk, tomato paste, garlic, ginger, curry powder, salt and pepper and whisk together.
Add in peppers and onions.
Next, add in chicken and pour broth over the chicken.
Mix all ingredients together to completely cover the chicken in the curry mixture.
Cover and cook at low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
Then eat it in a cute Tupperware bowl. Or plate….be that way.

I suggested to get boneless and skinless. It will make the process easier.

When I used to eat chicken, I often made Chicken Marbella from The Silver Palate cookbook when company was coming over.  SO delicious!
I used boneless chicken breast pieces and adjusted accordingly:

= = = = = = = = = =

I don't know anyone who doesn't like this recipe - me, your mom, as well as many of my friends who really can't/don't cook - it's that simple!

This was the first main-course dish to be offered at The Silver Palate, and the distinctive colors and flavors of the prunes, olives and capers have kept it a favorite for years. It's good hot or at room temperature. When prepared with small drumsticks and wings, it makes a delicious hors d'oeuvre. The overnight marinating is essential to the moistness of the finished product: the chicken keeps and even improves over several days of refrigeration; it travels well and makes excellent picnic fare. Since Chicken Marbella is such a spectacular party dish, we give quantities to serve 10 to 12, but the recipe can be divided to make smaller amounts if you wish.

servings: 10-12

ingredients:
4 chickens, 2 1/2 pounds each, quartered
1 head of garlic, peeled and finely pureed
1/4 cup dried oregano
coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
1 cup pitted prunes
1/2 cup pitted Spanish green olives
1/2 cup capers with a bit of juice
6 bay leaves
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white wine
1/4 cup Italian parsley or fresh coriander (cilantro), finely chopped

preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl combine chicken quarters, garlic, oregano, pepper and coarse salt to taste, vinegar, olive oil, prunes, olives, capers and juice, and bay leaves. Cover and let marinate, refrigerated, overnight.

Arrange chicken in a single layer in one or two large, shallow baking pans and spoon marinade over it evenly. Sprinkle chicken pieces with brown sugar and pour white wine around them.

Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour, basting frequently with pan juices. Chicken is done when thigh pieces, pricked with a fork at their thickest, yield clear yellow (rather than pink) juice.

With a slotted spoon transfer chicken, prunes, olives and capers to a serving platter. Moisten with a few spoonfuls of pan juices and sprinkle generously with parsley or cilantro. Pass remaining pan juices in a sauceboat.

To serve Chicken Marbella cold, cool to room temperature in cooking juices before transferring to a serving platter. If chicken has been covered and refrigerated, allow it to return to room temperature before serving. Spoon some of the reserved juices over chicken.

Good morning, all.

Got a very busy day today; in fact, I'll be out most of the day and E&T until later this evening.  So, just a few minutes here and then ta-ta for the nonce.

More coffee!

In other news, it seems my router is dying.

In my experience:  Routers Die.  Period.  Case closed.  End of story.  Actually, I've never had one last this long.  It's been good for several years.  But suddenly yesterday evening I had to reset it twice when the devices using the WiFi started losing it, and even the computer hard-wired to it was losing it.  And then again this morning.  Damn it.  Damn it to Hell.

I don't even know what to buy.  This is a LinkSys and I'll guess I'll stop at -- you know, a "store" -- and get whatever the current model LinkSys is.

Good morning, all!  Well, I looked at those photos from the party again, and OMG! There is indeed half of my face. I'm so close to Heidi and Jay and I have no memory of seeing them.

I've got to spend some time cleaning up my space to move the contents of my bathroom into part of it, confirming dates this week to do the repair with the super, talk to Josh about IRMA LA DOUCE and perhaps make a trip to City Center, and to work on this choral arrangement. I think about all of this and seriously consider going back to bed.

DR Ginny, the answer to the quibble I had is No.  I know very little about Kevin Vortmann, whom I met when Rob cast him for the ROBERTA Collegians. He's a nice guy and extremely talented. I think he and his wife just had a baby, and I know he has a brother living on the East Side, to whom I mailed his ROBERTA score since Kevin was out of town. He's on our list of casting possibilities for this series at Trinity Church in May, and I hope he can do it.

Curiously, in the Goodspeed production of MOST HAPPY FELLA from about two years ago, he played Herman!

DR elmore3003 - I have been to several of those Trinity noontime recitals, and they are fabulous! Always high quality, and they have flatscreens arrayed throughout the sanctuary for good close-up viewing by all.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Another slow morning here, which is fine with me.  Richard and I both have appointments this afternoon.  His is dental, mine medical, and neither is life-threatening.  We are both continuing to pick up loose ends that we dropped during our festive week in Philadelphia and New York.

DR CHAS SMITH I bought a D-Link and a TP Link router and neither really worked with my new tablet.

There was a LinkSYS on the counter at Goodwill for $4.99.....it WORKED GREAT.  So I think LinkSYS is the way to go.

Well I have my cast.....I wanted 18, right now I have 17.  I still have to cast Lt. Brannigan which I can do sometime between now and opening!

Last night two high school students came.  One was a 17 year old girl who said she wanted to be Adelaide or nothing.  She sang...it was okay....she read, it was terrible....and she couldn't dance.  After the dance audition I told her that I would not cast her as Adelaide and if she was NOT interested in another role tell me so I wouldn't include her in our casting discussions.  She said she wanted to be in the show.

Her friend, an 18 year old high school boy, arrived at 8:30 - 90 minutes late....did the dance audition with the other men.  Then he sang and read....and was okay.

My friend Cameron who was in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE and CAMELOT and THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE also came last night.

Our casting discussion went on until about 9:30.  We had just the right mix of voices for all of the songs.

AND....you guessed it, all three of the mentioned dumb asses declined the roles and did not want to be in the show.

So this morning I found a couple of others that will be better than the two high school kids and probably about the same as Cameron.....they are very excited to be in the show.

These three names will be given to the director of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.

Cameron was interested in Sky or Nicely....but I had two better guys for those roles.  Since it's such a small cast, I offered him Harry the Horse, knowing he would be in all the BIG numbers and in the Havana sequence.

Lucas wanted Sky....but he won't be Sky for a long time....if ever....well MAYBE in High School, if his father is the director.
