Well, you've read the notes, the notes were unattractive and fruity, and now it is time for you to post until the unattractive cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LIONIZE!
-
I wonder if Danise will be around today - if she is, tell her to go read yesterday's notes for her birthday wishes.
-
A Very Happy Birthday to DR Danise on Her Actual Birthday!! :D
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
good morning to all

And the word of the day is: LIONIZE!

Good morning, all! I have a long day today. I'll work here on my ROBERTA liner notes until I leave for physical therapy, go directly from there to the back/sports injuries specialist for an EMG, come home and chill, then head out to see Rosemary Ashe, who in from London. Come home and crash. I had forgotten that our DR ChasSmith will be in town todayfor IRMA LA DOUCE, and I'm sorry that I won't have a chance to visit with him.
I finally got a lot of sleep last night, around nine hours' worth, so I'm feeling rather good today. I think I'm still in shock that it's May 7 already!

Happy real birthday, Danise.
-
Wednesday morning greetings! Today we're going to the funeral of a woman we didn't know well, but we know her daughter and one of her sons. Millie was almost 89 and lived a great life.
-
Happiest of birthdays to DR Danise - again!
-
From the way this week has gone , it seems like we should be further along than Wednesday.
-
Good morning, all.
Coffee, please.
-
I believe I'll take the train into the city today, and enjoy a book or something on the way there and back. Yes sirree, that sounds like just the ticket.
-
DR ChasSmith, that sounds like a very relaxing way to spend the day. Have a great time at ENCORES!
-
DR Elmore, will you be going to the Trinity concerts? The 15th is the only iffy one for me, but I'll try to make it happen. I'm definitely in for the other two.
-
Thank you, DR Ginny. I'm really looking forward to it. It's a unique piece and I'm loving getting familiar with it.
-

I'll be around for the 15th and 29th. I'm mixing ROBERTA on the 22nd.
-
BK,
You keep teasing us about "the sick and twisted occurrence".
You don't have to mention names, but please elaborate.
::)
-
Wednesday.....someone said someone was having a birthday today....I'm not sure.
-
DR TCB has a lovely new avatar.....and I think DR KEVINH has one, too.
-
We did the rest of Act One yesterday....and then blocked HAVANA.....which turned out fine. Still a bit of REE-finement to do on it.....but not much.
Tonight we run all of Act One again....minus the seven people with conflicts.
-
ASK BK
Do you have any favorite Hal David songs that he DIDN'T write with Burt Bacharach?
-
And the word of the day is: LIONIZE!
And The Song Of The Day Is: IF I WERE KING OF THE FOREST
-
OVERLORD arrived in my mailbox this morning.
-
Happy Birthday to DR Danise!
-
DR Jane, I am pretty sure that Allegiant is much longer than the first two books. Email me when you finish it (it caused a lot of controversy).
-
A second round of birthday wishes for DR Danise!

Good morning, all.
I happen to love persimmons and generally keep about six in the freezer for when I need them. In nature, they're not ripe until the first frost, so popping them in freezer does the same trick: It causes the sugars to flow, creating a fruit that is extraordinarily sweet and silky in texture with just a touch of tartness. They're a great addition to pies or pumpkin soup.

Two!

Happy birthday, DR Danise. Whenever it is.

-
Happy Birthday a day after your Very Merry UnBirthday celebrated in these here parts yesterday, DR Danise!!!
-
I is here on Wednesday!
Ain't no small miracle!
-
Morning, all!
Fer the love of Pete, Bruce, try a persimmon. They're delish!
The most unattractively named fruit is, of course, the ugli fruit (not terrible, but not to my taste at all... stick with the persimmons).
Happy actual birthday, Danise!
-
DR TCB is looking especially dashing in his new avatar.
-
Wishing wonderful birthday wishes to E & T DR Danise!!!

I am back from having that most unpleasant of diagnostic tests, a colonoscopy, with all the unpleasantness that the preparation entails. It felt so good to be able to eat today! Also, a good report - no polyps, so I don't have to have my next one for 5 more years.
-
I had to wake at 3:30am for the final bottle of junk, so there will definitely be a nap in my future at some point today.
-
Speaking of Hal David, DR Mike, Ella Fitzgerald has a wonderful, creamy version of "Candy" on her "Twelve Nights in Hollywood" compilation. She sang it because he was in the audience one night, but she doesn't know the lyrics -- and it doesn't matter. I don't think I've ever heard the song sung better. Just delicious.

There is no way I can do the drink in the morning. They have to time my procedures for the last drink to be the night before.

I'm not sure I have heard this one. If Ella sang a song, no one did it better, IMHO.
-
I like the country song You Can't Hide Your Lionize.
-
Good one, JRand!
-
I just called my uncle to wish him a happy 94th birthday. I wish my aunt had been home as it is difficult to carry on a phone conversation with him. The last year hasn't been too good for him.
Sigh.
-
Our company was originally arriving around 2:00. I had to drop my plans to go to the gym this morning when they moved the ETA up to 11is. Now they are back to 2:00. Oh well, I rather they eat lunch out before coming here as we don't normally eat lunch unless we skip breakfast.
-
I'm up and have been so for two hours, but stayed in bed and did some stuff on the iPad.
-
All of the alluded to crap that's been going on cannot be discussed until I know what the lay of the land is. When or what that will be is unknown to me at the moment.
-
Poor Sami has to go in for a brain scan today - her brother slammed a door shut and unfortunately Sami's head was in the way - he didn't see her there. That was three days ago and her head has hurt her sporadically so better safe than sorry - she probably has a minor concussion. She'll still probably come to rehearsal but she won't have to do anything strenuous tonight.
-
But to be on the safe side, do send her some super-strength excellent vibes and xylophones that she's fine and dandy.

Have you heard Ella's live version of "Mack the Knife" from her "Live in Berlin" recording, where she again doesn't know the lyrics? I love that recording! She's fantastic.

94 is certainly a ripe old age! Best birthday wishes to the DU of DR Jane.

And I am home from physical therapy and my EMG on my lower back and legs, wherein I was prodded, poked, and pricked. It was either electrodes or needles and both hurt and were unpleasant. I was also lying on a narrow table far too narrow for all the turns I had to make.
I like my doctor, who's Vietnamese, I think, but he's very young and has little sense of humor. At one point, he said, I have to change the needle, and I replied, I feel like a gramophone. Zip! Right over Wilt Chamberlain's head.
Because of my schedule for this month, my next appointment with him is on June 2. After a cursory examination of the exam, he said that he believed some of the nerve damage is diabetes related but that a lot of damage seems to have occurred years ago. I suspect there's another MRI in my future.

Thank you Singdaw & John.

VIBES FOR DR ELMORE!!!

DR Jane, I'm sure your uncle appreciated your birthday phone call!

Thanks Ginny, I hope so. I wish my aunt had been home and I'm wondering why she was at physical therapy-if I heard correctly. My uncle has round the clock care making it easier on my aunt. I've met one of the caregivers and he was very nice.
-
I am off to Runyonland.
-
Our company should be here any minute. Once they are here I don't know if I will have free time to stop in until they leave on Friday. I hope I will. I especially don't want to miss DR Danise. I also want to know if Sami is ok.

Yesterday "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug " became available on Redbox and we were able to rent it :D

Big accident on the I-5 and our friends were stuck in traffic for a long time. They also underestimated the time it would take to get here from Sacramento.
We are sitting on the deck enjoying hummus & veggies and watching the birds.
-
Keith took a photo of me on the deck. He would post it if he knew how to downsize a photo on his iPad to do so.
-
DR Jane, why doesn't he just download it to Photobucket and then copy and paste the link address to your HHW post? It is much simpler.

That is Keith's beer on the table. I'm holding two phones in case our friends call. So far they have only text.
If you look closely you can see why the deck will be refinished next week.

no purchase necessary must collect in person at the local car dealership
It states the chances of winning at 1:60,000

ASK BK DAY
Where did you finally get your muscle men for Dogpatch?
We didn't - it proved impossible and in the end our solution is much better for future productions of the show, because who wants to hire six separate husbands who do nothing but one scene?
-
Rehearsal was terrific tonight - lots of cleaning up and making things sharp as a tack.
-
And a great meeting prior to it with the head of the LACC Foundation - it was mostly about the Richard Sherman event on May 30th, but I also informed him of all the stuff that's been going on, what we've needed the super-strength vibes and xylophones for. He was appalled and not so happy about it. He completely understood my points about everything and thinks that certain folks have behaved reprehensibly and possibly even illegally. That's a story for a later day, but I think he may be making some telephonic calls about it. I felt much better about everything after our chat.
-
DR TCB, add me to the list of people who like your new avatar!
Thank you, Ginny!

Thanks for the birthday wishes DR Cilla.
-
Yes, my solution was simple and obvious and I'm sure like the rest of the production will immediately be ripped off by anyone doing the show. I simply am having the boys playing the husbands do it. Their husband costumes are being designed to make them look puny and most of them are actually really well built - it works perfectly, actually. What the point really is in that scene is that they've lost all romantic drive and that point in the staging is made very clearly.
-
this of course should be my new avatar

It appears despite my number being a "confirmed winner" and despite the fact that said "winning number" appeared next to the photo of the 55" flat screen TV the winning number only meant I won "one of" the pictured prizes and my prize was a gold replica coin.
Then the fella had the audacity to try and sell me a car.
When I got home I checked their reviews on Yelp! - they ain't pretty...
The big question is did anyonw win a car. If not they might be in trouble if someone taskes the time to report them ;)

Sounds like a simple and effective solution.

Very good news, BK!
