A couple of weeks ago, Theater Artists Olympia held our annual elections through an on-line survey site.  That worked, except that our vice president position resulted in a tie.  So, for the last several hours, I was creating another survey for the tie-breaking vote.  I got it all set up and sent out, except this time I couldn't figure out how to set the end day/time for the survey.  We got it set up the first time, but I didn't see any place to enter that info this time.  Oh, well.  I put the end date/time in the survey e-mail, so we just have to not count any votes if they come in after that specified time.  I'm sure that it'll be fine. :)

Good morning, all.

Had a pretty good sleep, but had to get up promptly to call the air conditioner people because last night it started leaking in the basement which means it had been icing up, and is time for a cleaning and a draining.  This has to be dealt with every few years.  Since I can't run it until it's taken care of, I'm sort of begging them to try to fit me in today.  If they can't, this afternoon and tonight will not be fun.

Coffee!

Thursday morning greetings!  Today we're painting the wall behind our headboard, so we slept on our "bed island" last night.  My job is much simpler today because there's no window in this wall.  We'll also probably put the bookcases into the corner we painted yesterday and Richard will spend some time filling those up while I have my hair cut and do some other errands.

as for all the catchphrases I think the ones I knew came from sitcom from the 70's and 80's. But they all came tiresome after a while.

But perhaps the best one to come from a 60's Dramatic program was from "The Prisoner"

I'll Be See You

Complete with the right hand forming a circle putting it up to the eye and pulling it away

Of course they have a July 4th. I think they call it, "July 4th."  It usually occurs between the 3rd and the 5th (except for leap year, of course).   ;)

Good morning, all! I have physical therapy at 11:00 this morning, and very little planned before or after.

DR cillaliz, what a neat appointment! I hope you find it a rewarding experience.

DR TCB, around 1987, the building next to mine was being renovated, probably some apartments of 3-5 rooms were being converted to 1-2 room ones. I asked the landlord what a 1-bedroom was renting for, since i was tired of a studio. He told me $1500/month, and that was nearly thirty years ago. I think I was then paying about $500 for my studio, so I stayed.

We watched a very interesting film last night, BLUE RUIN.

It's an often violent thriller, but I did like it.  Reminded me (in tone) of the Coen Brothers first movie, BLOOD SIMPLE.

No names in it, but it's quite good.

Well, I haven't found how to set time so that it closes automatically, but I found how I can close the election manually.  That's pretty easy.  We've already had more than half of our voters vote!

My family always watches either "1776" or "Independence Day" on July 4th.  This year, it should be "1776."

And an appropriate Topic of the Day (although, it's a stage/movie musical and not a TV show):  "He's obnoxious and disliked."  That's more of a running gag in the show/movie, but it fits.

I don't want to make an issue out of this, but with the exception of the chat room you link to and Tom Lisanti's column, I find no mention of Don's passing from any major site on the net.  I've tried Google...Variety...Hollywood Reporter and just checked Deanna's FB page again.  I also phoned Variety and they know nothing about it.

Sadly, the story could very well be true, but there certainly hasn't been any official news as of yet.

Reminds me of when People referred to the "late Abe Vigoda".  Abe and I had a ball with that one, and it even inspired a webpage and a song.

We had a lovelier than lovely lunch here in the office...just six of us.  It was going to be red, white and blue salad bar, but what do you serve with salad that's blue?

At any rate, we had smoked chicken, shredded turkey, Caprese salad, blue tortilla chips, salsa, and diced onions/tomatoes/cucumbers and shredded cheese for anyone wanting a more traditional salad.  Topping it off was a red/white/blue trifle...strawberries/whipped cream/blueberries and pound cake all together in a trifle bowl.

I'm still full, and it's been over two hours since we got up from the trable.

"1776", anyone?

My family always watches either "1776" or "Independence Day" on July 4th.  This year, it should be "1776."
...

On my way to Mom's I stopped at the flooring place to pay for the new upstairs bathroom floor and the check I wrote was #1776.

Cool!

Storm got here, feels so refreshing, but it's a strong one and the neighborhood just lost power.  But ten seconds later, I had power!   :D

Power's still off.  The AC will be working Saturday morning when they get out here.  But if it had been working today, I'd have that now, too.

And an appropriate Topic of the Day (although, it's a stage/movie musical and not a TV show):  "He's obnoxious and disliked."  That's more of a running gag in the show/movie, but it fits.

And speaking of "1776," I'm now listening to the London cast recording.  It's very...British.

:D
