Bon Voyage, Ginny!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Safe Travel Vibes to DR Ginny and Richard! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Labor Day morning greetings! We'll leave the house about noon for the Cincinnati airport for our 4pm flight to Paris. The housemates are having company for dinner.
When I'm mad and want to burn off energy I do no mow, I walk and talk to myself and say all the things I need to say privately.
Since my sister passed away I rarely talk to myself as I walk.
Lovely photo of Boo.
Travel vibes for DR GINNY and DH RICHARD....
Of course we need photos from start to finish!
Good morning, all.
Travel vibes for DR Ginny. Hope the trip is great.
Bon Voyage to Ginny and Richard.....safe and pleasant travels!!
Have a great trip, Ginny!
And the word of the day is: BLETTING!
By adult I mean not a book geared to children.
We are having a lovely day. We went into town and walked around a little. Lunch was good. I ordered the barbecue salad & thought of DR John.
Romaine, black beans, avocado, tomato slices, cucumber, tortilla strips and an herb buttermilk dressing. It comes with cubed pieces of chicken dipped in BBQ sauce. I usually toss the salad and then kind of pick out the chicken, maybe eat a couple of bites for the protein.
Today I requested it without the chicken and extra beans. I forgot that without the chicken I would be missing the secret ingredient that makes this salad special. I was given a side of sauce and I dipped my tortilla strips in it and tossed the salad. It worked :)
And i am home from the movies. Matthew and I had to decide between BOYHOOD and LOVE IS STRANGE, which worked for out time slot. We went in expecting a comedy of sorts and emerged from a very moving independent film with a great cast: John Lithgow, Alfred Molina, Harriet Harris, Cheyenne Jackson, and Marisa Tomei in a really marvelous performance. It is not a comedy but it was truly wonderful and heartbreaking.
I really want to see both movies. Glad to hear Love is Strange is that good. And I love the cast.
Is she excited? How long is kindergarten there? Ours is half day unless you need a before or after school program and then you have to pay for it.
It reminded me a bit of the Beulah Bondi film Make way For Tomorrow.
That was one of the most heartbreaking movies I've ever seen.
Mom, not parent, or is it just that your sister will be the one to go. It is nice they build up to full day.
VIBES SHE ENJOYS SCHOOL!!!!
Which, "Make Way for Tomorrow" or "Love is Strange"?
I think it is all the moms that are going. But I suppose you could send your dad.
Didn't you see his comment implying that he had not seen "Love is Strange"?
I'm now on my third load of laundry.
I'm still not sure about this, but I'll stick it out for at least another episode. I just read "Some Answers to Questions...[spoilers ] (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3552166/board/flat/233855163) on IMDb, which answers some questions. The original poster read the book and what he posted makes sense and sounds kind of interesting. As long as the TV show doesn't get stupid, I'll probably keep watching it...probably. :)
Thanks for the report. I think I'll read the spoilers.
We found our first episode of DOCTOR WHO intriguing. We plan to watch it again.
By adult I mean not a book geared to children.I knew what you meant! Although I admit the other meaning did cross my mind. That said, the first book I read that had rather "mature" content was "Proposition 22". It was my sister's book, and my dad wasn't pleased that I was reading it. The funny thing is that he didn't take it away from me. He just went and yelled at my sister about it. She in turned yelled at me for showing it to him.
T.O.D.
Probably FANNY HILL. I found it in my mom's room. I believe she borrowed it from my sister. I was shocked!! I think I was probably 35 or 36.
So, where would The Adventures of Tom Sawyer fit in all of this? I think I read that in fourth grade.
Welcome home, Vixmom!
After one night, HISTORY's Houdini miniseries starring Adrien Brody is on track to be the least accurate Houdini biopic ever made, and that's saying something.
I didn't watch the show, but I started reading through the article. Here's the first sentence:QuoteAfter one night, HISTORY's Houdini miniseries starring Adrien Brody is on track to be the least accurate Houdini biopic ever made, and that's saying something.
