The other day I viewed, for the first time, MEET ME IN LAS VEGAS starring Dan Dailey and Cyd Charisse...I always forget how wonderful both actors are.fun movie. I really enjoyed the feel of it. Relaxed.
This is one 1950s musical I had not seen before, and I am sorry I had missed it. Lovely film. The picture quality wasn't as clear as I would have liked, but still, it was quite pretty!
DR Jane, that shot was taken in Maine. :)
Recording the MGM lion (1929):
Well, Dear Readers, I will tell you that our Act One....which is actually the book Act One (Two Scenes) and half of Act Two....will run about 119 minutes.... This of course means that with a regular intermission, our play will run until about 11:08 p.m.
That is, of course, assuming that people will come back to their seats for Act Two....since it will be after 10 p.m. when intermission happens.
SO - fewer people will see me in Act Two....than will have seen Act One. They won't even know I was in the show!
And I am home from therapy!
And I think I am

TCB, in answer to your question from yesterday: Yes, my mother made a tuna casserole with rice, walnuts, sweet peas, lima beans, celery and green beans all held together by lime jello.
It was so disgusting that I later won a dinner for four in an essay contest on "The Worst Dish My Mother Ever Made."

Thought this was the worst Altman movie I had ever seen the first time I saw this. Second time, 20 years later, it was an enjoyable shaggy dog of a movie.
I would stick around for the second half, for sure, DR JRand!

Meet me on the MGM backlot - with second unit footage of Las Vegas.

The northern lights, as seen from Alaska.
I'm sure that this one is "enhanced" too, DR Jane! :)
DR John have you finished watching "Country Matters" and did it turn out to be wonderful?
We decided to give Netflix a try again and I'm adding things to the queue. I hope this time round Netflix actually sends us something from our small queue.

I did finish. Yes, they were very good, but I will also say that a lot of them were depressing and bleak in that Thomas Hardy kind of way.

I will make sure that I print or save my Netflix queues (discs and streaming), just in case I want to come back to it. ;)
Shall I add HOMELAND to the queue?

This is funny :)
When the producer comes to visit, I'll try to get up there for a day or two, but don't know that I can swing more than that. I do want to spend some time with him. He's a nice guy. When he was in junior high, he decided it was time to give up this really cool electric train set. His dad brought it over and gave it to my brother who was a little kid at the time. The funny thing is, my brother still has the train, set up in the basement of his office,

Great story. I love train sets. Do you have a photo?
Sorry to be E and T. Didn't realize I haven't been posting all week. I'm exhausted. I'm trying to get everything done at the office and there's just too much for me to do. We had a high volume of stuff when Edith left and there have been some things I"ve had to correct and redo since she left. I think if I just get through September things will slow down enough that I can try to hire someone. Right now I don't have the time to train them. So 6-7 days a week for a few more weeks and I should be in good shape.
Band started Wednesday night. It was so nice to be back with everyone. I moved from the second row of flutes to the first row. For this concert I'm second chair. Our first chair has a wedding the day of our first concert. It's where they started me three years ago when I definitely wasn't ready to play that music. Now I am. :)

Well, I've never seen this show so I don't know anything about it.

I've seen seasons one and two. It's excellent. I am anxiously awaiting season 3's dvd release next week.
I've been watching Season 2 of Orange is the New Black
Thanks. It's really not that big a deal, but it's fun!Band started Wednesday night. It was so nice to be back with everyone. I moved from the second row of flutes to the first row. Sorry, I missed this earlier. Congratulations!

I should probably watch it and find out why it is so popular. I just don't want to watch a show about people in prison.

Reading about it I didn't think it was funny.
