Well, you've read the notes, the notes were petrified, and now it is time for you to post until the petrified cows come home.

And the word of the day is: ANATINE!

Morning all.
That is all.

Good morning. I have Been trying, unsuccessfully, to go back to sleep for the past hour
-
I am sure I will be overcome by exhaustion and fall asleep two seconds before the alarm goes off
-
Of course I was overcome by exhaustion and fell asleep in the recliner last night which is why of course I am up too dang early
-
good morning to all

Good morning, all! I am stuck home today since the buildng management is upgrading (at last!) our intercom system. In about 45 minutes, i am heading to Staples to pick up paper for the Toyland printer, and run a few errands so I can be home after 9:00 for the servicemen. God alone knows what time they will show up.
BK, I finally saw some press on the shows yesterday: http://www.talkinbroadway.com/allthatchat/d.php?id=2242927

Congrats to singdaw on the job news yesterday!!!

Well, I'm quite excited; an email just informed me that an abandoned diplomatic package from London in the Harrisburg Airport has a ton of money that was to be sent to me! I have to send a pertinent banking info and I will be a millionaire. This is my lucky day.
On top of that, I got second email informing me that there is $2.8 million waiting for me in Africa!
The shock of being so wealthy so suddenly this morning has given me the vapors. I have to lie down before I send my social security number, bank account numbers, and, i think, a pint of blood.
-
DR elmore3003 - congratulations on all your newly found wealth!
-
When it rains, it pours! I just got offered a chance to narrate Arnold Schoenberg's harrowing "A Survivor from Warsaw" for a concert in January.
-
Thank you to everyone for your well-wishes for me and my car. So, yesterday I get an e-mail from the insurance guy handling my claim that they did receive the Title I FedEx'd and it will now take 13 days to process. Thirteen days??!! On the phone, he told me three days. So, I e-mail him back to confirm and he e-mails back, "Sorry, I meant to type 1-3 days". What a difference a hyphen makes. Whew! I'm car-shopping tomorrow.
-
Buy something nice DR AMY.

Nothing is happening here today....and I don't want to MAKE something happen....so it is very quiet. Which is nice.

Congrats on the narrating gig, Singdaw.

Friday morning greetings! Rob and I took Richard for the follow-up appointment for the carpal tunnel surgery he had 2 weeks ago. He's very glad to have the stitches out and was released from that doctor's care until the other hand needs to be done. Knee still hurts, but maybe not as much as yesterday.
-
And the word of the day is: ANATINE!
And The Song Of The Day Is: RUBBER DUCKIE
When I was doing an overnighter at the Southern European Network (Armed Forces Radio) in Vicenza, Italy, circa 1973-74, I would often get requests for "Ernie's 'Rubber Duckie'". I'd always play it.

Just as I was ready for bed (post-Project Runway All-Stars), one of the kitties made her presence known....begging for treats and attention. I shared many treats and petted and praised her...skritched her and attempted to hold her (she wasn't much interested in that, thanks). This morning, she was front and center waiting to be fed. She was a "hongry" girl, too. The other kittie (her sister) remained out of sight. I tended the chickens who let it be known they wanted "out" of their coop and into the yard. They'll have to wait for tomorrow.
I slept SO WELL! When I got up, I opened curtains and looked out at a vast expanse of the bay area, expecting to see some fog. All was clear. Driving in, and down from the lofty heights of the Oakland Hills, I encountered the fog I had expected to see from the house. That was two hours ago and there is still a bit of ground fog present (isn't that called Thule fog, or something?).
Looking forward to the weekend, I am. I may get to take Monday off making it a four-day weekend as Tuesday is Veterans Day.

When I was at the library yesterday I met the reference librarian who receives the reservations/suggestions we email for books we want. I had never met her before, but there was a problem with something involving the online suggestions.
I have never even seen this lady before. So she says, "what is your name?" I say "Jennifer" and immediately she says my last name. :)
I request a ton of books. But the crazy thing is that I only get half my books from the library (since i get a lot of ebooks and review ebooks). I should have told her that. :)
-
Excellent White Collar last night.
-
Speaking of library books. i currently have five books out and see that two new releases i suggested/requested are in binding. I guess October/November is a busy month for new books. Luckily I don't have any review books due for November (they are all jan/feb/march) cause I don't know if i can keep with the library books.
I also have the dvd chef which i will probably watch tomorrow.
-
Something sort of odd happened to me yesterday. So I'm at a store and only one cash was open. I had one item and the woman ahead of me (who was probably around 75) had a lot of stuff. She kindly said "oh you have one item go ahead of me". So i smiled and softly said thank you. Then she turns around with a mean face and screams (something like) "Oh my gosh how rude - couldn't you at least say thank you." She was sort of mean about it.
It was really weird because even if i hadn't said thank you why would she scream like a lunatic?
So I just pretended that she hadn't just screamed at me and I said, "I did say thank you, but I said it sort of quietly. Sorry you didn't hear me."
Then she did a 180 and sweetly talked to me for a few minutes saying how some people are so rude (but now not me).
She was the Jekyll and Hyde shopper with two personalities.
-
I'm up - got nine hours of sleep and the helper came by and we had to get some stuff done. Now I'm thinking about food.
-
I hope those are two separate DVD's DR JOHNG.

Hello, everyone.
WHAT??!! Only on page 2!! OMG!!
Let's see what we can do here.

Hi, Jeanne!
-
DR Amy, so sorry to hear about your auto accident, but glad it was only your car that was injured.
I hope you find a new car that you're really happy with. I've had good luck finding good late-model used cars. I don't drive much and like saving the $$$. I've found that many dealers will accept an offer that's $300-500 below asking price for a used car.
A website I found quite helpful was
www.cargurus.com
Good luck!

Hi, Fred! I was quite envious when I learned your recent trip was to DC, my old home.

Excellent White Collar last night.
I'm hoping Netflix will pick up WHITE COLLAR like they've done with other shows and keep it going a bit longer. I have no "intelligence" on this; it's just me and my own wishes.
Does anyone know why this is their last season?

The temperature is chillier than normal (low 60s), but I don't mind it. I'm headed out on a barge dinner along the San Antonio River. This is one of the chief joys of living in this city. And I never say no when offered the chance. It won't be decorated for Christmas yet, but it will be fun.

San Antonio looks quite charming. Were the canals put in for tourism, like the Venice, CA canals were in the 1920s?

scritch (or skritch)
the actual meaning of scritch is:
(1) (noun) A deep soothing scratch on the back of the neck or between the ears.
(2) (verb) To pleasantly abrade the skin beneath another\'s fur; to perform an act
of benevolence usually as a reward for past aid.
(3) (noun) An instance or situation where skritching occurs; a furr who enjoys
skritches
She loved being skritched...which is nothing more than being rubbed under the chin and behind both ears with one finger.

Vibes of patience and coping to DR Ginny!
Thank you so much, DR Jeanne - from both of us!

After years of hearing about DR Elmore's printer turning itself on during the night, I may something akin to that: a toilet ghost. Yes, my toilet, which is only a year or two old, seems to be flushing itself. It's only happened a couple times so far, so no clear pattern yet. Of course, I LOATHE the plumber they use here and will go to great inconvenience to avoid him for as long as possible. Someone must have spoken to him about his rudeness. I actually heard him say, "Good morning, sir" to one of my neighbors. I was gobsmacked. I doubt he'd ever be that polite to a woman.

I am watching CHIPS and waiting for The Amazing Race to come on....on FRIDAY!
-
Had a Cobb salad and a bagel for lunch, picked up no packages, did some banking then came home.

I then buckled down, Winsocki and finished choosing the holiday songs, put then in show order and wrote the entire commentary, just to have that out of the way.

Total screwup with my hotel reservation - we called the hotel to request a queen or king instead of two double beds and were told the reservation had been cancelled on the third. Now, this was booked through Priceline and you CAN'T cancel. The money had been deducted from my paypal account immediately on October 23. So, I called Priceline and it turns out they had a "system error" that canceled a whole slew of reservations. The first person I talked to was useless and she finally put me on with someone she said would "relocate" me. I told him in no uncertain terms I wanted the same room in the same hotel, only with a king size bed. He put me on hold and was able to get that for me, gave me a new confirmation number but said it would take an hour for it to show up in the hotel reservation system. I asked him to e me in an hour after he called them back to make sure that happened. I'm awaiting that e-mail.
-
That would have been extremely upsetting to arrive and not have a room. I never heard of a "system error" like that.
-

Well when my sister came home she had fallen asleep. But when she woke up she was crying because my sister had left had to drive my other niece to swim team practice. So i called to tell her that she was bawling like a baby.
-
When it rains, it pours! I just got offered a chance to narrate Arnold Schoenberg's harrowing "A Survivor from Warsaw" for a concert in January.
Great news, SloppyJoe!

Hopefully, all the reservation issues get worked out!

This is a very sad story, that may end up with a happier ending.
The story broke on the 5 o'clock KOMO TV News today, and by 7:00 p.m. they had already exceeded the $6,000.00 GoFundMe request by over $1,000.

That's terrible! :(
But it's great that people are contributing. :)
-
And now, it's time to leave work, go home, do some laundry, and watch some TV.
Be back later.
-
Reservation is now fine and confirmed with both Priceline and the hotel itself.
-
The work tday got my allergies into an uproar, so I took a hot bath, used the neti pot on my sinuses and i am off to bed.
BK, I hope everything resolves perfectly with the hotel mess. It was so good of Priceline to inform the customers there might be a glitch.
-
Two hours? Really? Page four? Really?
-
Well, I'm watching TV, but I didn't do any laundry.

But I am watching TV.

In case anyone wanted to know...

Matt Bomer looks like he has buck teeth, when he didn't before. :-\

Went to Gelson's for some light snacks, which I am now eating whilst listening to music.
-
Neal Caffrey (as played by Matt Bomer), just ziplined between two buildings in NYC using his leather belt. Talk about suspending disbelief.
-
And now, I'm watching "Constantine."
-
I am eating snacks and listening to music, not necessarily in that order.
-
Page five? Really?
-
At least it's not going to be the lowest day of posts.
-
Close, though.
-
Finished with the snacks.
-
Still listening to music, and will take a shower soon.

The last of the critically wounded students from the Marysville school shooting, died this evening. He was shot by his own cousin two weeks ago today. He brings the death toll to five. One other student that was wounded in the shooting went home from the hospital yesterday.
-
Who am I telling? I am the only one here.
-
No Vixmom this evening?
-
Not now, of course, but earlier.
-
I hope Elmore got to see GRIMM tonight. It was a pretty good episode
-
BK must still be listening to music.
-
Or, perhaps, he is taking a shower.
-
I wish I could be in New York next weekend.
-
I wonder if George went to bed?
-
I doubt it, but maybe.
