Good morning, all!  After a long wait for the referral, I return to physical therapy this morning. On my return I will stop at the post office.

BK, I had no idea of the extent of the dental work you were going through yesterday. Oy!
Vibes it continues swiftly and painlessly:

Friday morning greetings!   It was 6pm before we finally got home from the airport yesterday, so I had less than an hour before going over to Marianne's for book group.  Came home from there very tired, went to bed early, and slept like a rock.  Now I'm enjoying coffee from my very own Keurig, which I missed last week.

Not sure what I'll watch this weekend.  I have 2 more discs to view from MAVERICK, Season 4, but I may wait on those.

Sunday, assuming it's not raining, we're going over to the Ransom Center in Austin to view the GONE WITH THE WIND 75th Anniversary exhibit.

I have 2 new books that will become available within the next few weeks.  I really didn't plan to bring them both out at the same time.  It just worked out that way.

MURDER IN BABYLON is my novel (based on fact) that deals with the William Desmond Taylor murder.  99.9% of this semi-fictional account was written almost 40 years ago...and I'd completely forgotten about the manuscript until I discovered it 2-3 months ago in my storage space.  The novel looks at the sensational unsolved Hollywood murder from the point-of-view of a fictional newspaper reporter of the day.

SEXY REXY is the newest and 12th stage play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection.  It's a dark character comedy about Rex Harrison.  The five characters include Harrison, Lilli Palmer, Kay Kendall, Rachel Roberts and Carole Landis.

I'll post more information as each become available.

Well I have to say that I have been in many snowstorms, Ice storms etc here in Buffalo and West Seneca.

I absolutely think that this storm has been the worst.  We live in a mobile home and the snow on our roof was about 3 feet.
I was a nervous wreck.
Finally I flagged down a truck.  Thank God they were professional roofers.  There were 5 guys that cleaned the snow off of our roof.

We have a tip-out that didn't get entirely cleaned.  I called them and am waiting for them to come today to look at it.

All and all they did a fantastic job.

The cost $800.00.  Worth every cent to feel safer and have piece of mind.

There is still a driving ban in most areas.  The snow is about 7 feet deep.  We have a path to get out thru the garage.  Finally we had our car cleared off also.  Now we have to worry about the floods.  We were packed and ready to evacuate yesterday.
Thank God we had the roof cleaned.

Our dog wouldn't go out for a day and a half to do her business.  I don't know how she held it, but she did.  Finally she did!

I never remember feeling so anxious and scared during a snowstorm in my life.

We have to wait it out and hopefully soon the driving ban will be lifted, and things will be getting back to normal!

Got a copy of Ethan Mordden's Broadway Babies yesterday. Haven't read it in 30 years. Was pleased to see that Elmore's name is among the prominent acknowledgments. Since I didn't know him then, it didn't mean anything to me. Makes the book that much more valuable to me.

Topic of the Day:

Just received from Target.com:  the 3-track exclusive version of Coming Home (http://www.target.com/p/kristin-chenoweth-coming-home-deluxe-edition-target-exclusive/-/A-16690195) by Kristen Chenoweth.  I also received the soundtrack to the new version of "Annie," but I accidentally ordered the regular edition and not the 3-track exclusive version, so I want to return it (hopefully, it wont' cost any more $).

Also waiting by my CD player to be listened to again:  Sandy Bainum's "It Might Be Fun"

Well, I'm off to the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.  I'm ushering for a concert by Derik Nelson, an incredibly talented local boy who's gone onto bigger and better things.  He became the guitar player in the band on "Glee!"  He and his younger brother and older sister have been putting on a tour that go to and help support high school music programs.  Tonight, they're performing An Acoustic Evening with Derik Nelson & Family (http://www.washingtoncenter.org/upcoming-events/2014/11/21/an-acoustic-evening-with-derik-nelson-family.html).  It'll be in the WCPA Black Box, which only holds about 120 people, but it'll be packed!

I got a call shortly before lunch about doing a follow up on the interview.   I said that I was surprised they wanted to do a follow up when they didn't air any of the interview last night at 6 when I was told they would.  The news director said, "No, you were on at 5:00.  We did use it".  Oh. So I explained that I had been told it was 6:00 and that I had told my family and friends to watch and then it wasn't there. They were very nice about it and agreed to put it on the website so I could see it.  So, I was able to share it on FB.  I'm happy about that

The reporter didn't end up doing a follow up, but I was too busy for it anyway.  He did call and apologize for telling me the wrong time.  He said he really got a lot out of our interview and was able to understand what was going on much better because of it.  I sent him an email with some links to information and some ideas if he wants to do a story on immigration fraud, something we discussed.  I also told him he could call me if he has any questions about immigration or criminal law and I'd be glad to answer them for him

Bruce, in my experience having the new crown put in is rather easy. You've already been through the difficult part--the drilling, the impressions, and so on. It might just take a couple minutes--and no numbing.

It's been many years since gold was used for crowns. The white material they use now isn't really porcelain, although it's still often called that. It's much more "biocompatible" than any metal, ie, it's healthier.

I fed Nick his breakfast, and then he wanted to go out.  I wasn't paying much attention, so when I started getting cold, I closed the sliding door.   Almost an hour later, I heard him crying out on the balcony.  Just lucky I didn't go back to bed without checking on him.

The Derik Nelson and Family concert was quite wonderful.  It was just Derik singing and playing guitar with his brother and sister singing, and a friend of Derik's on piano.

They did do a few covers, including "The Christmas Song" in a very modern arrangement, but like the rest of the songs, it was a really nice arrangement.
