I have never heard that phrase before.
DR Ginny--I'm glad you're Mom's move went well.
Not exactly seasonal
Vincent Price is not the first person I think of when I think of Christmas.
There's something going on in our living room that I've wanted to happen for 26 years, but never had the energy - a Christmas tree is going up. We always put ours (artificial) in the family room, because that's where we spend most of our time. I've thought about a second tree and this year it's happening, courtesy of Rob and Mary Linda. They like to cut a fresh tree, which they did this afternoon. They're trimming while I wrap presents downstairs and Richard's picking up pizza for our dinner.
Back from a nice visit with Mom, during which I didn't have to worry about cleaning her apartment, stocking her kitchen, or administering her meds. Worth every penny of the increased costs!
And she told me she's planning to celebrate her 100th birthday in this new room :D

Jane's drunk picture just popped back up on my Facebook page!

Two tree, I would be thrilled. I miss having a tree and decorations around. Keith doesn't want a tree and the decorations are packed too tightly in the storage closet for me to get out. Maybe next year cuz I don't have any holiday spirit this way.

I thought your wrapping center was in the basement?

I really didn't have any holiday spirit, either, until today. Some really nice things have happened over the last couple of days - from Mom to the living room tree to discovering that Richard had had my car cleaned inside and out to receiving an invitation to Christmas dinner at his brother's house in Cincinnati.

Yes, it is, DR TCB - right below where the kids were trimming their tree and playing Christmas music on the stereo.
I stopped in Barnes & Nobl;e during my afternoon errands to buy some wrapping peer.
TOD: TCB version of SCROOGE, of which I just watched the highlights
I'm always up early, TCB.
Makes me feel good to read of your successful transition with your mother, DR Ginny.
Hi all
Hi all
Good to see you, Cilla.
I hope I get well soon. I haven't written anything on my book in days.
*Stays quiet about Phoenix weather in December*
I was still really tired today. We have had about one day with any sun at all since oh....I don't know before Thanksgiving maybe? Maybe not that long, but man I hate this fog and gloom.
Hugs, TCB. I wish you felt better.
The person who had the open house today really thinks he's a foodie. He ordered a bunch of stuff from some place in Duluth. A lot of people raved, but honestly I really never thing it tastes that great. The fudge was good though

Is it from a restaurant in Duluth?
Did anyone watch THE SOUND OF MUSIC - LIVE (RERUN) tonight?

Some meat shop or something it was mostly salmon and some sort of sausage

But I will bet it was expensive. I mean; imported all the way from Duluth.
No, no tv.
No offense, but you wouldn't have any salmon in Iowa that is fresh would you?it was smoked
I saw this tv at Shopko. Don't know if it's any good, but it would be cute in the right house

Kewl! I love it.
Actually TCB there are these things called airplanes that fly in salmon, especially to the sushi restaurants :)

How do these airplane things work? LOL!
I am not familiar with Shopko.
For A Christmas Carol, it's Alistair Sim for me all the way, baby. I have actually not even seen most other film and TV adaptations. I only remember, as a kid, being less interested in the Reginald Owen film version.
However, the other night TCM was running a bunch of them and I caught just a few minutes of the 1964 TV movie A Carol for Another Christmas which I'd never seen, and it looked wonderful. Written by Rod Serling, directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, starring the likes of Sterling Hayden, Eva Marie Saint, Ben Gazzara and others, with a score by Henry Mancini -- what's not to like? I am truly sorry I didn't get to watch or DVR it.
(I don't suppose DR George or anyone DVR'ed it? hmm? hmm?)
Good morning, all.
Add me to the list of people who did not sleep well last night. Wonder if it's the moon?

Congratulations to Bryan on all those offers!
Listened tonight to Brian Setzer's Christmas Comes Alive. Big band arrangements rocking out the joint. Very cool. And fun.
I wonder how George did with his reduced sleep today.
