Well, you've read the notes, the notes were bruised and fruity, and now it is time for you to post until the bruised and fruity cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: INVEIGLE!
-
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

-
Oh yeah - happy St. Patrick's Day.
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
Cool video!

And here's the "making of":

-
Good morning, all.
Woke up way early, tossing and turning from silly dreams, a too-warm room (I didn't set the thermostat to a good enough sleeping temperature), and half of a sleeping back ache. I'll probably have the other half tonight.
Coffee!
-
I am still trying to digest the story of Sandy having never eaten (never having eaten?) pastrami. What, never? Hardly ever? Will there be a second lesson in how to order and eat same?
My thoughts shouldn't be turning to pastrami at this time of day. But they are.
-
Well, I'm sure you've heard the rumors by now. And they're true. Starting late this morning I shall once again be slaving over a hot stove preparing another St. Patrick's Day feast for self and friends. Just the usual, and plenty of it. A lot of plenty. Because I not only love a fresh feast. I love leftovers.
-
When you know the notes to sing...
-
You can sing most anything!
-
:D
-
And I'm serious about that. When it comes to these two feasts of the year -- Thanksgiving and St. Pat's -- in whatever share of the preparations I'm involved with, I plan as much for the following days as for the initial meal.
-
Those who like to eat (you know who you are) will understand.
-
TOD:
I quit SONS OF ANARCHY and TRUE BLOOD after the 3rd or 4th seasons.
I thought that both shows lost their way.
-
TOD
Classic example: TWIN PEAKS, after the initial mystery is solved. It later found its way in new story lines -- not to everyone's satisfaction, but over the years I grew to love most of it.
-
Yes, I was sorry to see TRUE BLOOD lose it. The first two seasons were wonderful.
-
For gravity geeks - the classic feather and bowling ball, with a new twist:

-
More taxing without catching up today.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I will putter about here until 11:00 or so, then head down to City Center and watch the afternoon dress of PAINT YOUR WAGON.
-
I'm missing Dublin today.
-
I will putter about here until 11:00 or so, then head down to City Center and watch the afternoon dress of PAINT YOUR WAGON.
Can't wait to hear about that!

I am googling/YouTubing electric harpsichords.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, all.
-
TOD:
Moonlighting. Loved that show but it just fell apart.
I'm sure more will come to me.
-
It's morning. Other than remembering we are all supposed to wear green today, I know not much of anything.

DR LAURA, during the voir dire, prospective jurors were asked specifically if they had any connection with anyone in the case including the attorneys and prosecutor....this juror said no. Even though the prosecutor had sent her first husband to jail.
Her daughter is also a Facebook friend of the mitigation expert for the defendant. She also watched the Lifetime movie about Jodi Arias, although she claimed she only had it on in the background while cleaning.

My sweet cousin Linda passed away this morning. We always watched The Twilight Zone together during its first two seasons....my brother and I would walk down the road to spend Friday night with her and her brother Danny and my aunt Bessie.
We were the stars of the school bus and always had lots of fun during the summer.
DO NOT SMOKE!
-
Linda was the girl in the photo I posted last week of me holding onto the potato chips.
-
Good morning to all
-
Dr JRand
Sorry to hear about your cousin's passing
-
It is always interesting that tern "Jumping The Shark" actually came a television show where someone jumped a shark!
-
And now there is a new term that refers to movie franchises: "Nuke The Fridge"
-
DR GEORGE that was a great video. And I loved the poster....it is especially funny if you know the play.
-
Very sorry, DR Jrand64.
-
Thank you DR MIKE.
-
The last season of Roseanne was jumping the shark, but in the end it really wasn't. They were spoofing the shows that Jumped the Shark
-
TOD:
Glee
-
Still waiting to hear about my car. I called them yesterday afternoon and the news was good, but nothing today.
-
What the HELL?
I forget what was wrong with the car. Was it a big repair or just little stuff?
-
My wife is flying to Los Angeles today to visit her kids and our new granddaughter.
She's going to be gone for more than a week.
I'm missing her already.
:'(
-
Thank you DR CHAS SMITH.
Her daughter asked me last week to do a slide show for her service, so I am waiting for the photos.....if they ever come.
Her daughters from different husbands are not in agreement on which photos to use, so there will probably be TWO different photo slide shows - at opposing ends of the funeral home. :(
-
"Mr Rumsen, in a town of 400 men, would you rather I be down at the rapids bare beamed and buck nekked in the middle of the day?"
That's a line I will not hear today, since the only things the show has in common with the film are the title and a few songs.
-
St. Patrick's Day greetings! It's very gloomy here in SW Ohio, quite a change from the glorious spring weather we had over the weekend.
-
DR JRand, I'm so sorry to hear about Linda and about the discord in her family.
-
DR Elmore, have fun at City Center today!
-
Thank you DR GINNY.....we shall see what happens.
-
My friend Kullan Edberg is in a play called "Tutors" at the Kraine Theater in NYC. If any NYC HHW'ers happen to go, please tell her I said hello.

TOD:
I really liked "Ally McBeal" until one of the attorneys started picking his nose in meetings.
And, John, I agree that "Moonlighting" fell apart too.
And I've now stopped watching "Gotham". It's just gotten too gross - it's not enjoyable anymore.
-
Did anybody watch DWTS last night?
-
Very sorry DR JRand. :(
-
So sorry,JRand. Many vibes of comfort.
I hear you on the smoking. It'll be 23 years in May.
-
TOD II:
Bosom Buddies had a great first season and mediocre second.
-
Did anybody watch DWTS last night?
Been reading about it. Sounds like it could be a fun season.
-
I see on my iPhone that I've been given an Appke Watch app even though I don't want it. And I can't delete it.
-
Condolences to Jrand.
-
I'm up after eight hours of sleep. I woke up at ten, stayed in bed and read e-mails on the iPad until ten-thirty, got up, did all my corrections on the two charts and got those where they needed to go, then pushed the rehearsal for an hour because the Piano Man is coming to take the hammers to be replaced. He's saying I should have it all back by Friday or Saturday and hopefully that will be the case.
-
Thanks to DR JENNIFER and DR JOHN G and MR BK.
No word on when I will be getting the photos....but we shall see.
No word on the car either.....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
-
I hope your Piano Man doesn't have the same sense of time that my car man has, MR BK.

Thanks, Jrand! And in case anyone missed it from last night, check out this Vintage 1993 promo for Laughing Stock at The Playhouse (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hs0h-HoUrA4)!

I'm sorry to hear about Linda, JRand.
-
I didn't follow the Arias case - except that one couldn't escape it around here. I just don't like the idea of prosecuting jurors who don't even want to be there anyway.
-
I celebrated St. Patrick's Day by hiking too long in the sun. It's not terribly hot, but the sun is beastly. And now I don't feel so great.

And I am home from the afternoon dress of PAINT YOUR WAGON at Encores! The cast is excellent, the male chorus is quite wonderful, the dancers are pretty and they have some good choreography, including a wonderful pas de deux, and a fantastic orchestra led by the absolute best. The show? Second-tier Lerner and Loewe is better than some of what passes as first-tier now.
-
Thank you DR LAURA and DR GEORGE.
-
Today I resumed my basement walking routine because 1) I didn't like what I saw in a picture that was taken at the book sale and 2) I need to "train" a bit for the treadmill stress test I have scheduled for a week from today.
-
We also finished getting our tax materials together and Richard took them to the accountant this afternoon.
-
It was an interesting day; while I waited for the bus at noon, I ran into a college friend I've not seen in maybe 15 years, and we rode the bus t the theatre district together and gossiped.
-
I heard some fascinating gossip today that a conductor of a musical opening soon - whom I dislike and distrust immensely - is hated by everyone on the show. That cheered me up.
-
Now that I am home, I will have some dinner and relax.
-
DR LAURA my problems with the juror come from her connections to the defense team, her admissions to the judge, and her lying to get onto the jury.
I also am suspicious that 12 other people (including one other alternate) heard the same testimony she did, and voted for the DP.
I don't mind that the sentence on April 13 will be LWOP, it's really better for the Alexander family - they won't have to deal with an annual appeal - and Arias has to pay for her own appellate appeals.
-
I hear that DR GINNY....I am trying to shed some pounds before the summer theatre season begins.
-
Here are some City Center videos on the show:

-
Elmore, any word on a recording of Paint Your Wagon? It would seem to me that it would warrant one.
-
I hear that, too, DR Ginny. I've already planned for this week to include a healthy change in habits.
Damn it to hell, where did I set that plate of corned beef?
-
I'll be seeing Paint Your Wagon on Friday, and here's another vote for a recording to come out of it.
-
Elmore, any word on a recording of Paint Your Wagon? It would seem to me that it would warrant one.
No, but I hear there have been inquiries. If I were representing Lerner and/or Loewe, I would put some of my MY FAIR LADY, CAMELOT and BRIGADOON royalties into producing one, simply to get a good cast - and this cast is good - and excellent orchestra to preserve a more complete score in great sound.
I was really knocked over by Justin Guarini today - very charming, moves well, sounds quite good - and I love the young lady Alexandra Socha (?) playing Carradine's daughter Jennifer. Carradine is excellent, and my friend Bill Youmans as the Mormon selling a wife is very funny.

I love the PAINT YOUR WAGON score.
I've never seen it on stage. Hated the movie, but I understand that the story was completely changed.
-
Thank you DR KEVIN H
-
I love the links DR ELMORE.

HA! What's the difference between community theater and Broadway?
The price of the tickets.
-
Cannot tell you how odd it is to see a grand piano with no keys, just a big hole where they would be.
-
Had a very good rehearsal, gave some notes, and then we went to CPK for food - I had the salmon, so very low calories.
-
Traffic coming home was not so hot.
-
Just got word that will make KevinH very happy - Brent Barrett will be joining our cast for the ALS benefit.

What if you offer to look at all the photos and ask them to let you choose. Maybe you can also request a number cap on what to choose from.

-
Thanks for the weather report DR Kevin.
-
Packaging in for approval.
-
And now, I'm off to the theater. I'm much less secure on act two of "Laughing Stock," and that's what we're going to run tonight. :-\
Well, as I frequently say, "It'll be what it'll be."
Until later.
-

Her daughter is also a Facebook friend of the mitigation expert for the defendant. She also watched the Lifetime movie about Jodi Arias, although she claimed she only had it on in the background.
JRand how was the question asked? A prosecutor sending a relative to jail doesn't really mean you have a connection. That's usually explained as knowing someone through business or personally. She likely didn't know the prosecutor. And the prosecutor would have known her name, her husbands name etc. He would have had access to the computers in their office and could have run the names. They do that here. If he didn't, that's his loss, if he did and decided it didn't matter then it doesn't matter.
Who her daughter is a facebook friend with is irrelevant and the lifetime movie would likely have lead to a death vote.
I think you are overreacting. Deciding life and death is something I'd never want to do. Everyone needs to leave her alone. It's hard enough to find jurors brave enough to speak their truth even when no one else agrees with them. That's what we ask them to do. The jury instructions say don't change your vote just because you don't agree with everyone else or to reach a unanimous verdict.
I don't care if 112 people thought it should have been death or 1012 people thought it should be death. The juror voted as she voted. In our system that's the answer and we must accept it.
-
So the attorneys all have the names of the prospective jurors? How far ahead of time do you get that information?
Any idea how the names of all the jurors became known to whoever blabbed it on social media?
-

I don't know what you fill out in Arizona, I don't remember, but here you fill out a short bio sheet. As attorneys, we have a list and the basics, name employment, spouse, spouses employment, age, children, prior jury duty, etc The State always runs everyone on the computer for prior felony convictions - a disqualifier for jury duty, I doubt they run spouses, but they could. We get the list ahead of time, I can't remember how far in advance in Phoenix, here I can get it several days ahead, but that early I get all the people on the list that could be called in that day. On the day I get the list and bios of who is actually on my panel and a list of who is going to be called to the jury box. The attorneys have more information than you'd think
-
Anyone in the clerks office, the attorneys offices, the judges office, they would all have access to the jury list. I'd be surprised if there wasn't an order not to disclose them. If not, there should have been
-
Just got word that will make KevinH very happy - Brent Barrett will be joining our cast for the ALS benefit.
Will it be recorded? (Or do I have to wait and ask that on Wednesday?)
-
Watching a Comden and Green comedy called "What a Way to Go." Never have seen it, but love the cast: Shirley MacLaine, Paul Newman, Robert Mitchum, Gene Kelly, Bob Cummings, Fifi D'Orsay.
Apparently there are a couple of Comden, Green and Jule Styne songs, and Nelson Riddle did the score.
It's 20th Century Fox.
-
I am 2 books behind my normal reading schedule. Aside from being distracted lately, and sleeping more, I haven't finished the last two books I began.
-
Since I'm bored with what I've been reading I decided my next book will be for my April book discussion. I am not looking forward to it but since it became available at the library, what the heck. It might seem better after the last several books I have read, or not read.
-
This is supposed to be the best night in a decade to see the northern lights, they are saying even as far south as Texas or Florida. If it's clear where you are try to go out and take a gander

This was the opening attraction of the Studio Theatre on Central Avenue, formerly the Strand Theatre, around 1963 or so. I went to the opening showing. The late great Margaret Dumont is also in it, and I once talked about it to author Clive Barker.

Hello, everyone.
-
HAPPY ST PADDY'S DAY to all!
OK, a little late.
-
JRand, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Vibes to you.
-
I saw the osteopath today for my back treatment. I walked out feeling a lot better. I'll be seeing him again next week.
Thanks to all those who sent me vibes. Much appreciated.
-
Car repair vibes to JRand. I hope it proves worth the wait.

Jrand, car vibes and condolences to you.

Glad to hear you're exercising again. I had some anxiety about my treadmill test several months ago. I did fine, but it's tough if you're not used to it. Vibes it goes smoothly and easily.

Thanks. It always helps, but it takes a day or two for it to "shake out", which can be uncomfortable. I have to schedule downtime, but at least I can plan around it.

Yes, sleep vibes to Larry. With a good ole smirk, as well.

Jane, I just finished Stewart O'Nan's new book, "West of Sunset," about the last days of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Sad, fascinating story.
I also just got the new Anne Tyler from the library. Looking forward to giving that a whirl.
-
DR Jennifer - I watched DWTS last night. I thought there were some really good dancers and a few not so much. The girl who kept complaining about trying to dance with her big boobs can go home any time
-
Mom said the same thing she says every first episode "I'm really disappointed, I don't think they're as good this time" Then in a few weeks she'll say how great they are. She always has someone she wants off now, she hasn't picked that person yet
-
Condolences and ~ ~ ~ VIBES OF COMFORT ~ ~ ~ to DR Jrand64 and family...

Finished with my viewing and continue to proof the final designed book.

Everything I have read about Scott and/or Zelda seem sad.
I don't usually read Taylor but comparedto thebooks I've been reading I expect one would be a good distraction.

I am trying not to think of my house & all I have to do before leaving to hike in the morning, just in cade Keith receives a request from the realtor to show it.
-
Page five? Really?
-
I have to be up at six in the morning. Really?

Well, as I frequently say, "It'll be what it'll be."
Until later.
We finished running act one (what we didn't get through last night) and ran through all of act two.
-
We didn't have time to run act two twice, so we went through the last to scenes of act two and we were done for the evening.
-
I actually was able to get through my scenes without too much trouble.
-
Now, I really need to work on memorizing my lines more completely and thoroughly.
-
Which is what one should actually do as soon as possible. ;)
-
And since we're so close...
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
