Well, you've read the notes, the notes were oh so so-so, and now it is time for you to post until the oh so so-so cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HOLOPHRASE!
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
First after Ben!
-
Now must try to ketchup.
-
Meanwhile, in Ely...

-
Good morning. Consider me to be the fourth person to enter the thread. ;)
-
So considered. So moved.
-
DR George - so glad to hear that you finally had some good news, electronics-wise. :)
-
It's what's for breakfast.
(not really - but it's fun to say)
-
Actually, it's National Donut Day. Apparently.

It's Friday. And so far, we've started out with thunder and rain, so it looks to be a beautiful day!
-
Good morning, all! I slept late, and I had a weird dream about working on a production of KISS ME KATE.
I must get to the post office this morning. I have some hell to raise with them over an undelivered package.
The new 2-CD set of THE RETURN TO OZ score is quite wonderful. For the weekend, I am going to finish up the first season of Father Brown mysteries, catch the last disc of season 1 of Miss Fisher's murder mysteries, and begin THE GAME OF THRONES.
-
TOD:
The final season of JUSTIFIED.
-
Good morning, all.
All packed up for Austin this weekend. With two overnight bags, a shoe bag, a suitcase with my sleep machine bag stuffed in it, an ice chest, my laptop and who knows what all else, I feel as if I'm leaving for a month and not essentially two days.

Re: FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD
Back in the late 1990s, when he had his studio in Ireland and wanted to do some literary period films, Roger Corman asked me to write a screenplay adaptation of FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD.
I suggested that, since the Julie Christie version was only about 20 years old and considered to be a minor classic, he might be better off adapting a work that, if it had been previously filmed, had a much lesser reputation. Besides, on a Corman budget, we would never come close to the splendor of the earlier MADDING CROWD.
Roger saw my point, so I wound up adapting THE ASPERN PAPERS instead, setting it in Dublin, rather than Venice.
I know, but a paid writing assignment is a paid writing assignment.
Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), by the time I had finished the script, Corman had decided that he didn't want to make any more period films, since they were not selling in his key market. I was fully paid, but the script was shelved.
Although I had previously sold him two of my original screenplays (both produced), this was my first Corman "assignment". Others were soon to come.

Good morning to all
-
Don't have anything planned in my viewing cue this weekend
-
The trip to the post office was a waste of time: they cannot locate the package, even though the tracking info says it's there.
I have to deal with Staples next. Oy!
-
Good morning, all.
And a late one it is. I slept soundly till the phone woke me at 9:44! That's almost unheard of these days, and boy did I need it.
Coffee!
-
I did a lot of '1776' listening this week, probably the most I've ever done. But I was following the score closely and learning more about it than ever, and that was most satisfying.
-
I am kind of nervous even thinking about a Roger Corman version of FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD.
-
Thanks to everyone here at HHW.....opening night was a great success. We were nearly sold out - only three tickets left - and there are only a few single seats left for the rest of the weekend. Next week with four performances has several tickets, but those will probably be sold easily in the next few days.....
Lots of new people in the show = lots of new people in the audience.....so we are happy.....of course it also means lots of $$$$ for the bottom line.

I always travel with more stuff when I am driving vs a little bag when I fly.

DR George it is nice when we get proper customer service. We are at the point where we think something nice should be given us for all the times our key cards have stopped working. The record breaking day was 3 new cards for Keith and 2 for me. We hope they finally fixed the problem yesterday.

I'm glsd it eent well. I thought good vibes but didn't actually type it since I had run out of computer time, as I am about to now.

I need to get up and moving. The granite is being installed in the kitchen. I am nervous how I will fell about it once it is in.

Madding Crowd has been a Masterpiece Theater mini-series and now a new movie since. It's one of my favorite Hardy novels, though The Mayor of Casterbridge may edge it out.
-
We had to read "Return of the Native" in high school, which was so bad (the teacher had a lot to do with my loathing that book) that I didn't read Hardy for another 25 years or so. It took seeing the film version of "Madding Crowd" to get me to go back to read him again.
-
I need to get up and moving. The granite is being installed in the kitchen. I am nervous how I will fell about it once it is in.
Hopefully you won't fall at all. ;)
-
Two!
-
I love both the novel and the Cristie/Bates/Finch/Stamp film. I am afraid to watch the current film now playing.

The heart of the morning is still here.

-
But what about the stomach of the afternoon? ;)
-
bk, I asked the other day, but you must have missed it:
Is the Kritzerland show moved to Monday because of the Tony Awards airing on Sunday night?
-
bk, I don't know if you read the blog of arts administrator Howard Sherman, but you might find today's entry interesting, as it has to do with the LA theatre scene:

I just got hollered at a van driver just as I was turning to my road. I did indeed get home safely, I live just across from a gas station, so I don't really feel that lonely round here. :) It's currently very cloudy, and I think we're about to get a thunder storm. Little droplets of rain is being poured in.
Just finished a music video of Bowie's Rebel Rebel on our 18 year old portable TV. That's all.
-
bk, I asked the other day, but you must have missed it:

Yes, because the stupid Tony people couldn't do what they usually do - the second Sunday - and they moved up their broadcast a week, playing havoc with our schedule.
-
I'm up, I'm up - only about six hours of sleep.
-
I'll take some oh so so-so pastrami over no pastrami any old day.
And... wouldn't you know it... this just happens to be any old day!
-

I loved "Return of the Native"! I'm surprised it hasn't had as many film adaptations as"Mayor of Casterbridge,""Tess," or "Madding Crowd."
-
DR George - so glad to hear that you finally had some good news, electronics-wise. :)
Thanks, Sing! I was very pleasantly surprized.

And the word of the day is: HOLOPHRASE!
And The Song Of The Day Is: NEW WORDS
A Beauty Of A Song By Maury Yeston
-
Thank you DR GEORGE and congrats on your great money saving enterprise!
-
I love "New Words" - it is a wonderful song to do in sign language.
-
Silent vibes are as good as any DR JANE.
I hope you are having a good day as well.

And an excellent orchestration on an album produced by BK. I wonder who did that?

But there is a musical version. I think it's called Dance on a Country Grave. I have the CD somewhere.
-
We appear to be stalled.
Stalled, I say.
-
I am reticent.
Oh yes, I am reticent.
-
And recalcitrant.
-
I guess you could say calcified, as well.
-
And you wouldn't be far off the mark.
-
By this, you may gather that it's a slow day at work.
-
And again, that would be pretty close to the truth.
-
Despite my having dispatched quite a number of long-standing sticky issues.
-
And, speaking of sticky - have a donut. For National Donut Day.
-
At long last - PAGE 3!
-
:)
-
PAGE 3 couldn't have come quickly enough.
-
Are we still on PAGE 3?
-
Three is free.
But four is more.
-
Oh, you poor suffering DRs, that have to read these paltry ramblings.
-
Rumbling around the windmills of bk's mind.
-
Misty.
-
Water-colored.

I think that I just might have to.
-
Back from seeing Inside Out, about which much more in the notes, and lunching in the Disney commissary, about which much more in the notes.
-
I think I might be losing my religion.
-
I don't have one, oops. :D
-
Stay tuned, folks.

-
The show must go on, but with no host.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
What's going on here? Last night I could log on, but my posts weren't posting. Now this place is deserted. Or should I say desserted? I like desserted better.
-
Even though I'm trying to get off sugar again.
-
It doesn't take much to get addicted.
-
Nothing doing.
-
Glad to see a happy ending to DR George's DVD repair story. He's due for some good electronics vibes. So...
GOOD ELECTRONICS VIBES to DR GEORGE!!
-
I guess you could say calcified, as well.
But never ossified.
-
As you can see, I have no news.
Which is a good thing. Although somewhat boring.
-
TTFN.

Thanks, Jeanne! I certainly do need 'em!

A couple of FB friends posted this...The 33 Funniest Passive-Aggressive Notes From Neighbors Ever Written (http://offbeat.topix.com/slideshow/15799)! :))
Warning: some of these are not very polite...but they're pretty funny. ;)
-
And, speaking of sticky - have a donut. For National Donut Day.
I wondered why I was offered a free one when I bought my iced tea at Dunkin Donuts today.
-
On the way home I noticed a line of cars turning into Krispy Kreme causing a traffic jam in the right lane.

The closest Krispy Kreme is in Tacoma. There are a couple of local donut places that are close...and it looks like at least one (the closer one) is open until 8:00! I do have to work concessions for a show tonight, so I'd have to get donuts before concessioning. I think I have time. :)

Where I get coffee/tea and a donut is in the outskirts of my favourite city. This is the third time I went to that place in over 10 years.
-
Well, something came up at the last minute and I didn't leave work in time to get some donuts from Twister Donuts. Oh, well. Maybe next year.
-
And now, I must be off. I'm working concessions for the same "Evening of Comedy" that I for last weekend...the show where practically no one showed up. Hopefully, the word has gotten out and more people will show up. We'll see.
Be back later.
-
Well, DR George - it wouldn't be National Donut Day... but you could buy donuts there one of the other 364 days of the year!

Oh my!

He has now scheduled my second cataract surgery.

Finished with my viewing.

My second cataract surgery is scheduled for July 16.

I have a ticket to the Sunday afternoon matinee performance of the hit production of CABARET at Tacoma Little Theatre.
-
Good evening. It was very nice out this morning, so I headed out for a hike. My plan was to hike until my fitbit notified me that I had reached my goal, then turn back. I was planning on getting a double dose of exercise today. After a long, long, long walk, I figured out that the battery was dead.

I have a ticket to the Sunday afternoon matinee performance of the hit production of CABARET at Tacoma Little Theatre.
Unfortunately, it is going to be close to 90 degrees on Sunday, and Tacoma Little Theatre does not have air conditioning.

So far the problem seems to have been solved. Tomorrow I will brave the laundry room if I can get two machines. There are 4 washing machines but one is out of order. The room is empty noe but I am not about to do it this late. I will get up early and hope I haven't dragged myself out of bed for nothing.

Summer has arrived early to Washington State.
-
Silent vibes are as good as any DR JANE.
I hope you are having a good day as well.
Thank you. Well, most of the granite was installed today. For some reason the backsplash part had to wait. Keith had to call the concractor and ask because we thought they had forgotten to do it.

It is a beautiful night to be out and about. Like attending a Seattle Mariners game!

How much more work is there to do?
-
We had to postpone deliverery of our belongings. It looks like we will be in a hotel for an extra 2 weeks. The question is do we change hotels or not.

Bummer!!!! Vibes you can get one when you reapply!

Listening to music after just doing a mile-and-a-half jog. The commissary meal at Disney was really good. It's fairly amazing there, like a food court. You can get Mexican, pastas, grill (hamburgers, etc.), salads, and several other things - each kind of food has its own station. We opted for the most popular and longest line - the pasta. They ask you what you want on your pasta - you can have sun dried tomatoes, scallions, mushrooms and other veggies, you can have sausage, chicken and shrimp, and you can top it with marinara, alfredo and pesto sauces. Fresh grated cheese awaits you after you get your food. The Mexican food also looked really good.

LOL Right now we feel we need to do a better job of remodeling ours.

I went to Gelson's earlier and got some crab bisque soup (just a small cup) and one chicken enchilada and some melon balls - that was my evening snack.

Topic of the Day: I am watching the new Blu-ray of "1776," through my DVD burner, on my 32 inch (non-HD) CRT TV up in my bedroom.
-
The picture is automatically stretched vertically to fill the 4:3 screen because my TV can't adjust the aspect ratio.
-
It will be a while before I can get a new hi-def TV...not necessarily because I can't afford it, but because I REALLY need to clean my room before I can even think about getting my dead TV out of there. ::)
