I love both the novel and the Cristie/Bates/Finch/Stamp film. I am afraid to watch the current film now playing.

bk, I asked the other day, but you must have missed it:

Is the Kritzerland show moved to Monday because of the Tony Awards airing on Sunday night?

bk, I don't know if you read the blog of arts administrator Howard Sherman, but you might find today's entry interesting, as it has to do with the LA theatre scene:

I just got hollered at a van driver just as I was turning to my road. I did indeed get home safely, I live just across from a gas station, so I don't really feel that lonely round here.  :) It's currently very cloudy, and I think we're about to get a thunder storm. Little droplets of rain is being poured in.

Just finished a music video of Bowie's Rebel Rebel on our 18 year old portable TV. That's all.

Yes, because the stupid Tony people couldn't do what they usually do - the second Sunday - and they moved up their broadcast a week, playing havoc with our schedule.

We had to read "Return of the Native" in high school, which was so bad (the teacher had a lot to do with my loathing that book) that I didn't read Hardy for another 25 years or so. It took seeing the film version of "Madding Crowd" to get me to go back to read him again.

I loved "Return of the Native"! I'm surprised it hasn't had as many film adaptations as"Mayor of Casterbridge,""Tess," or "Madding Crowd."

DR George - so glad to hear that you finally had some good news, electronics-wise.        :)

Thanks, Sing!  I was very pleasantly surprized.

Thanks to everyone here at HHW.....opening night was a great success.  We were nearly sold out - only three tickets left - and there are only a few single seats left for the rest of the weekend.  Next week with four performances has several tickets, but those will probably be sold easily in the next few days.....

Lots of new people in the show = lots of new people in the audience.....so we are happy.....of course it also means lots of $$$$ for the bottom line.

Congrats on the success, Jrand!

DR George it is nice when we get proper customer service.  We are at the point where we think something nice should be given us for all the times our key cards have stopped working.  The record breaking day was 3 new cards for Keith and 2 for me.  We hope they finally fixed the problem yesterday.

Yikes!  Hopefully, YOU'LL get some better customer service soon!

And an excellent orchestration on an album produced by BK. I wonder who did that?

But there is a musical version. I think it's called Dance on a Country Grave. I have the CD somewhere.
