Well, you've read the notes, the notes were brought to you by, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - the cows are brought to you by Phillips' Milk of MOOgnesia tablets.

And the word of the day is: INCOGITANT!

Finally!! Comcast had an outage yesterday, starting sometime after about 4:30 pm until about an hour ago. I had no interwebs AND no TV (I've been up in my bedroom watching a DVD and burning DVDs of shows that I had recorded). It all seems to be up and runnung, now...and it's way past my bedtime. I'll have to ketchup on all of yesterday's posts later today.

Morning all.
That is all.
-
It's been a very hectic week all around.
I'm at the office and work continues apace.
-
Good thoughts to one and all.
-
Good morning.

Oh Boy! It's Monday!

Good morning, all!
I had to use the local Staples copy center this morning. It's not cheap, but they've so far been able to accomplish my photocopy reductions, scan and email them, and we'll see soon how they fare with printing them. Since trhe place is always packed, I figured the sooner i got there and accomplished things after they open at 7:30am, the better.

We're in for more wet weather today, so I may stay in and work, rather than hit the NYPL. Tonight, I have to see at Birdland a reading of MERMAN'S APPRENTICE, written by my friends Stephen Cole and David Evans.
-
Monday morning greetings! It's "crunch time" for me in terms of getting ready to leave for California in 48 hours. Some AAUW loose ends to tie up, some emails to send, and - oh, yeah - some packing. And a visit with Mom...
-
Good morning, all.
Got up early then went back to bed for a little more sleep, and ended up with one of the most epic of epic crazy dreams...out of which I am more than happy to be.
This one even included needing coffee. So...guess what.
-
DR Ginny, that sounds like one heckuva day. Good luck with it all!
-
Good morning to all
-
The cold rainy day will definitely keep me inside. I need to work on some genealogy. Been very lax on that these past couple of years, but I need to supply some info to my favorite Second Cousin Once Removed when I go for a quick visit sometime soon.

Oh, and it just developed that DN Lauren and Baby J might visit us some time today.
And tomorrow is really CRAZY - dentist for a cleaning and my new crown, meeting with AAUW's 2 immediate past treasurers about their filling in for Karen who has a broken left knee and right arm, and - oh, yeah - packing...

Keith is looking forward to settling in our own home, having coffee first thing in the mornings while sitting at the computer doing genealogy.

I am doing 3 last loads of laundry this morning before we change hotels. We get white layers of dust on our jeans when we go to the condo and do work there.
-
We are thrilled to get out of here today!!!!!
-
The work begins on our floors this morning...progress :)
-
I wish the hotel switched had happened yesterday as we are missing a beautiful, so we have been told, hike this morning to waterfalls.

Vibes for a smooth move today, DR Jane!
My friend Karen is also moving today from our local hospital to a rehab facility somewhat north of here. She's coming along nicely, but has a long road of rehab ahead of her.
-
Thanks Ginny. I am sure your day will be far more hectic than ours. We have an early check out here and don't know when we can check in. Since the new hotel is in downtown Vancouver, not too far from the condo, waiting shouldn't be a big inconvenience.
-
Continued healing vibes for Karen. I feel bad for her that she can't go home.
-
Vibes for smooth days for you DR Ginny as you prepare to leave on your trip. When you began planning this we did not know yet that we would be leaving Ashland for a new adventure.
-
At times I wonder Why I wanted a new adventure ;D
-
And then we go to another delicious new restaurant :)

Today is the birthday of one of the greatest musical arrangers and orchestrators, Robert Russell Bennett.
-
I have not been sitting here like so much fish, but holding sweet baby J and visiting with his Mom.

Today is the birthday of one of the greatest musical arrangers and orchestrators, Robert Russell Bennett.
My introduction to Mr. Bennett was in 5th grade, my teacher fancied himself a singer and he would play Broadway cast records during study time. His favorite was the soundtrack to VICTORY AT SEA. No one ever dared challenge him. He was a WWII vet, a SeaBee, but he was really a softee inside. Outside though he was like the old Robert Conrad commercials, tough fireplugs.
-
I'm up, I'm up - didn't fall asleep until about three-thirty, up at nine-thirty, and fell right back asleep until now. Still not eight hours, but close.

Fred's not the only one who read it and wrote a review.

I am trying to stay as calm as possible, but I guess I have anticipatory anxiety about surgery tomorrow. If I were a Buddhist master, maybe I could eliminate all anxiety, which is a type of fear, but I'm far from that.

Believe me, I know what that kind of anxiety is all about, even for minor surgeries or "procedures".

Dan, have you ever tried Rescue Remedy? It's for stress and shock. Some people really swear by it. When I'm in shock I don't think to use it. >:(

I agree, a full slip would have been a much better choice.

Thank you, DR Jeanne, for these and for the travel vibes! I wish I could see you and BK and other SoCal DRs, but on this trip I will fly over LA on June 22 and through LAX on July 1.

Thanks! The hospital billing dept. just called to get their hooks into me. The affordable insurance is definitely not that. I had to pay $800 just for copayment and $200 will be due if I am in for more than 1 day. That's 2/3 of what I make in a month.

Since I've only heard old, scratchy recordings, I couldn't tell, but was Toscanini all that? Or has the legend grown greater than the truth?
There are some conductors I don't like. I know that Ormandy has lots of bona fides, but for me the Philadelphia sound under his direction was too syrupy, too schmaltzy. Not being a pro musician I know I may be out of my depth.
-
Richard and I are going out soon to visit Mom and then to pick up some dinner. I am in no frame of mind right now to think about planning, shopping for, prepping, and cleaning up after home-cooked meals.
Bye for now!

Back from a Cobb salad and Jell-o. Picked up no packages. Am waiting to hear back from possible cast members.

I did have some good news at the hospital yesterday, not sure if I shared it. The three trips I take after the initial emergency room visit are not emergency room visits. I am considered a "series patient" I'm not sure what that means insurance wise, but I shouldn't have to pay the $350 emergency room copay for each shot

Better get ready to go to the ball park. It's a beautiful night and I need it. The cats woke me up at 4:00 am acting like there was something in the house. If there was/is I certainly couldn't find it. Boo came and slept under the covers, she's never done that before. Makes me wonder what was up. I was awake for about an hour and got back to sleep

They are all fine now. Goofy cats

Well, I must be going. Theater Artists Olympia is having our monthly board meeting (a week late) and I need to be there.
Until later!
-
Really would rather not be going to this meeting tonight, but since I'm the rabble rouser who's been pushing for it for two months I guess I should. This has to do with Equity trying to shut down the 99-seat theater code that's been in existence for a very long time.

Thank you! This affordable care insurance isn't so affordable after all.

Nope. It turns out, it was an RV that caught on fire: Olympia motor home fire injures 1, knocks out ‘Game of Thrones’ (http://www.theolympian.com/2015/06/15/3775765_motorhome-fire-injures-one-causes.html).

Meeting was fine. Too much yakking and following Robert's Rules of Order, but good energy and some very positive stuff. I have been pushing for this meeting to happen for the past eight weeks. I have been relentless about it on the Pro-99 Facebook page. The leaders of the group castigated me, made light of me, said a meeting would never happen for security reasons, but in the end way too many people agreed with me that some transparency was needed right about now. When they saw they ware losing the battle they actually lied and said the only reason a meeting hadn't happened was because no one had organized. I think you can imagine that I was not letting that lie stand - then the leaders all tried to rewrite history and say they weren't really the leaders, when there'd been a vote early on making them the leaders, which they'd accepted. But several folks came up to me and said that this never would have happened without me, even though others took on the task of organizing it - and they're right. I was a rabble-rouser. I wasn't even invited to the meeting at first because a couple of people, including one of the leaders thought I was going to be a loose cannon and a troublemaker. When I found out about that I think you can also imagine the fireworks I caused. I had people calling me, PMing me, and I told them that since I was completely responsible for the meeting happening that it was rather foolish to then try and keep me out. A few people had my back and I was invited. And the joke, of course, was I didn't really even speak - just listened. And the ONLY time I spoke was when one of the leaders who would like you to think she's not really a leader made a point about not posting inflammatory remarks about people on the other side, you know personal put-downs, which I agree with. But this woman has been horrible with me from the beginning. I PMd her early on in this thing trying to straighten out a point she was incorrect about - and instead of replying privately via PM she replied publicly on the page, which I found really bad form. I called her on it, and ever since she's done nothing but attempt to deride me and minimize everything I post. Well, just seeing her in person told me everything I needed to know about her - and she's the one person in that room of about thirty, who didn't come up and introduce themselves.

Is the Internet up?
-
I was only going to have a bite or two of the potato salad but it's REALLY good.
-
Notes will be a little late as I'm just digesting too much potato salad and listening to transcendently beautiful music.

I've been looking at www.groupon.com for some TV ideas. They have several that are comparable to Costco's prices, but some (mostly refurbished) that are less. I don't mind refurbished. My TV that just died was a display model and lasted probably eight years. That's not too bad.

I've been looking at www.groupon.com for some TV ideas. They have several that are comparable to Costco's prices, but some (mostly refurbished) that are less. I don't mind refurbished. My TV that just died was a display model and lasted probably eight years. That's not too bad.

I've only been in a Walmart a few times. Looking at their website, they do have good prices. I'll keep them in mind.
