Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of beginning a new novel, and now it is time for you to post until the novel cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: REDINTEGRATE!
-
BK, I always enjoy reading about your book writing.
I wonder what or how much of a bribe Jeanne would take to spill the bean.
;)
-
I'll spill the beans at some point - this is not one I'm worried about anyone copying. All my books have a lot of humor in them, but I'd say this one, if it works as it should, will be the first purely comic novel I've written. I'm trying to find ways to have some other stuff in it, but mostly it's just meant to be funny.
-
good morning to all
-
Good morning, or more accurately good evening since I have not yet been able to sleep.
-
TCB - many congrats on your very round milestone!!!!

No I couldn't sleep. The temperature is fine.
-
Vibes for you my friend
-
Good morning, all.

TOD:
The Champs Elysees in Paris during the Golden Age
Las Ramblas in Barcelona at most any age
The Ku'dammstrasse in Berlin during the 1920s
New York's Fifth Avenue in the 1890s
The streets of Venice during the 1920s
-
Congrats on your milestone, TCB.
-
Good morning, all!
I am feeling quite melancholy this morning. I'm not sure why.
-
I dreamed last night about Wales, late 19th century.
-
I have company arriving around noon. E&T DR Ben and Anthony are coming by to visit. I haven't seen them since they and DR ChasSmith helped me evacuate Toyland.
-
And I have some work on CABIN IN THE SKY to finish.
-
DR Jeanne, I loved the first six seasons of FOYLE'S WAR. The Cold War espionage mysteries didn't appeal to me. Is there now a 9th Season?
-
Vibes for you my friend
Thanks.
-
Good morning!
-
Congrats to TCB on his milestone!
-
Congrats on your milestone, TCB.
Thank you.

I'm listening to Kiri te Kanawa's Christmas album. After dealing with her and her general and genuine ugliness on her Gershwin recording, I never wanted to hear her name again. When I realized that the album was arranged and conducted by Carl Davis, I decided I should hear it for his orchestrations. Him I like. Her I don't.
-
DR elmore--please say hi to Ben and Anthony for me. I considered going to NY this weekend but it was too late to get a good train fare or airfare. The hotel prices are very reasonable, though.
-
Congrats to TCB on his milestone!
Thanks, Kevin.
-
Good morning, all.
Last night I got hooked watching episodes of HOUSE M.D. that some channel was running as a marathon, and was awake till all hours. And I do mean all of them. I think I covered about every hour there is.
So, at some point today a nap will be in order because tonight I'm attending the closing performance of a friend's holiday revue. But for now...
Coffee! And a cream cheese danish.
-
Big congratulations to TCB on his beautiful round millstone.
I was glad you held out for the arrival of DR George because that was one not to miss. And kudos on selecting such an ideal quote for the occasion. Well done, sir.
-
Hellos to Ben and Anthony, please. I am sure that DR Elmore will have a most enjoyable visit with them.

Congrats to DR TCB on his millstone.

Good news about the novel from MR BK, a comic novel is always welcome!!!
AND congrats on moving ahead with getting your pension money that is all YOURS and belongs to you and should be in your account. Hopefully that will include your social security AND Medicare A & B which is most reassuring to have....just in case.
-
Some good choices for the TOD....I shall continue to think.
When I saw the description of the SHERLOCK HOLMES and saw that it was set in the original time period, I thought for some reason that it was NOT a Cumberbatch episode.....so perhaps I will see it online or ON DEMAND at some point.

I feel like Emily in Our Town. I'd like to go back to a family gathering around 1960. My grandmother, my parents, and my aunts and uncles seemed so much older than I. Now that I am older than many of them were when they died, I'd like another perspective.
-

Will do!
-
Saturday morning greetings! I'm having trouble keeping track of the days of the week - this seems so like a Monday...
-

Me, too, DR Elmore. I'd like to go back to the 1920s or '30s in Owensboro, KY, to meet my paternal grandmother and Indianapolis, IN, to meet my maternal grandfather. They both died before my parents even met and loom large as mythical figures to me.
-
Today I'd like to visit Mom, but I'm still coughing (especially when I talk too much) and I sound kind of like Darth Vader. Maybe tomorrow...
-
Like DR ELMORE, I am sometimes astonished to realize that I knew my grandparents when they were MY age now, and they seem so much older than I am today....
And I watch old movies and realize that I am older than Humphrey Bogart, for example, when he died....and older than so many of them when they made the movies I am watching.....
It is a strange feeling.
-
Cough be gone vibes for DR GINNY. Mine has held on for almost a week and half.
-
Thanks, DR JRand - only half a week to go!
-
THUMBS UP!
-
Good morning... eh, whatever
-
I need to make some recordings today and do some shopping. Tonight is the parish staff Christmas party in which I (along with the youth minister and Fr. Brian) am one of the chefs. It's a fun gathering. I'm hoping to take tomorrow off from church, also.
-
It seems like Sunday.
-
I'm with DR Ginny! I have no idea what the hell day it is!
-
I've been up for an hour trying to answer a lot of e-mails. I didn't fall asleep till almost six because of the old itchy leg thing.
-
So, late start in the writing. I'll try to futz and finesse right now, then eat, then pick up packages, then do the new writing.
-
Back from a lovely lunch with cousins from the Scranton area (or more specifically, Dallas, PA).
Interesting that they think nothing about coming into New York City just to see a show or a ball game, while it seems so many New Yorkers think a 2-1/2 to 3 hour trip requires an over night stay. Or am i wrong about that perception?

This is sad news!

-
Aw, man. I never got in there.
But I'm sorry to hear about such closings, anyway. Damn it to hell.
-
DR Vixmom re: the yonanas. If you are going to use it a lot then it is worth it. If you are just gonna try it once and store it then no. :)

Oh, no! Remember the fun HHW gathering there in 2005?
-
Sadley Rio was a bust due to lousy weather, long lines to see nothing, and the tour guide refusing to go someplace else where of interest.
We are losing our wifi. Hopefully I can post from our next stop, Iguazu Falls and the hotel has wifi.
We are leaving the ship at 6:30 tomorrow morning.
I hope we can see the falls and don't have a repeat of today.
-
Sounds like your guide got up on the wrong side of the bed DR JANE.

let's go
-
three!
-
Spent the day in Austin where I had a very good lesson in some country dancing, not my favorite and largely because I have done enough of it.
-
Then we went for dim sum. I passed on the chicken feet, but did taste some of the tripe (bland). I more than ate my fill from among the rest of the goodies.
-
Then we drove back in a downpour.
-
Tomorrow is supposed to be a little dryer.
-
This is sad news!

I knew it was struggling but am sad to hear it. I've know Angus since the early 90s when he was the host at Joe Allen. I was nervous for him when he made the move, and frankly I was loyal to Joe Allen, who has also weathered many tough times. I did go to Angus's a bit - we had one of our Haines His Way gatherings there, and the cast party of The Brain was there, too. He was always very good to me and very accommodating. It was he who made sure I always had table twenty-three at Joe Allen and he who referred to it as "my table." And when I asked if we could shoot the first Outside the Box episode there, he gladly said yes and didn't charge.
-
Page three? Really?
-
I futzed and finessed quite a bit, adding a few things and subtracting a few. Then I wrote one new page and went and had a bacon and cheese omelet, a small fries and a bagel. Then I picked up one package, which contained the fixed version of Welcome to My World, which looks really good, then I came home. I've now written a total of five pages, will take a brief break, and then write at least five to ten more. I do know I'll be finishing the chapter I'm on, which is quite long.
-
I am enjoying the updates on the novel-in-progress. BK, are you finding comedy different to write from writing a mystery or western? Does it take any different approach?
-
Getting ready to watch JRand's least favorite Doris Day movie, "Tunnel of Love." It's the last film in this series. I hope I survive it.
-
I hate the headline, but here's a review of a new recording of Sibelius' symphonies that sounds good.

Thirty-five minutes in and it is fairly excrutiating.

Donde esta todo la gente hoy?

I just finished watching the next to the last episode of the fall season of "Minority Report." Now, I will watch the fall seaon finale.
Just had to share. :)
-
Good evening!
-
Congrats to DR TCB on his millstone.
Thanks Jrand!
-
Where is everybody?
-
I just finished watching the next to the last episode of the fall season of "Minority Report." Now, I will watch the fall seaon finale.
Just had to share. :)
And are you enjoying the season?
-
Page three? Really?
-
I am watching the Alamo Bowl from San Antonio.
-
I guess John gave up his ticket to the game.
-
It is another one-sided bowl game.
-
I am watching the Alamo Bowl from San Antonio.
You're in San Antonio? Wow. You should have called.
-
I guess John gave up his ticket to the game.
Yeah. Right. That's it exactly.

You never gave me your phone number.

And are you enjoying the season?
I am. I like the show even though it's not very different from so many other sci-fi...and not so sci-fi...cop procedural shows.

Seventeen years ago on the day of the Alamo Bowl, I came to San Antonio on a job interview that was rather surreal. I was sick with a fever and remember reading a good chunk of John Irving's Son of a Circus on the plane ride in. The circus part seemed somewhat apt.
I couldn't breathe through my nose, so I really couldn't taste the food at the interview lunch, which was at a busy River Walk place, overrun in a sea of purple and yellow, the main colors of the two teams that year. I had never been to San Antonio before and had no clue about the River Walk or anything other than the Alamo. There were three women interviewing me, one of whom had the great idea that I should review the meal as part of the working interview. There was another option, which I chose instead. I don't remember what that was, but I do remember writing an article on the fly about a Portuguese soup that features plenty of garlic and is used to fight whatever ails you. I was desperate for a bowl of that.
I had to suffer through a bad Italian meal that night before I was dropped off at a noisy airport hotel in which I could not get the thermostat set higher as I had developed the chills. I couldn't sleep much that night and just sort of slunk off the next morning thinking that the whole trip had been a mistake.
I somehow got the job and have been in San Antonio ever since.
-
This movie hasn't gotten any better an hour into it.
-
Let's move on.
-
Four!

When my dad was in the army, he was stationed in San Antonio for about a year. I was probably three to four years old. I know we moved to Germany from San Antonio when I was four.
-
Where in Germany did you live, George?
-
My only visit to San Antonio was 33 years ago this month for ALA Midwinter. That was one of the few times ALA was smart enough to have our winter conference someplace warm. This time I'll be in Boston for it...

Kaiserslautern. I went to kindergarten and first grade there. We moved to Ft. Carson, Colorado during the summer before I started second grade.

Ha!
And last year I was in Chicago for the big Super Bowl blizzard.
So far, the 10-day forecast for Boston looks OK. And I'm paying a little extra to stay in the hotel that's connected to the convention center by an enclosed walkway.
-
I don't know what I did or why I needed to atone for it, but "Tunnel of Love" is over. It is truly a movie whose time has past, if it ever had one.
-
The Alamo Bowl has turned into the most exciting game all day.
-
Oregon was leading 31 to 0 at half-time.
-
I don't know what I did or why I needed to atone for it, but "Tunnel of Love" is over. It is truly a movie whose time has past, if it ever had one.
Why were you watching it if it was so terrible?
-
They are now going into overtime tied at 31 all.
-

I was doing other stuff while it was playing.

Wow...that's one heck of a comeback!
-
Well, I just finished the fall season finale of "Minority Report."
-
Oregon was leading 31 to 0 at half-time.
They are now going into overtime tied at 31 all.
Wow...that's one heck of a comeback!
They are now in double overtime tied at 38.
-
Now triple overtime 41 to 41.
-
Now triple overtime 41 to 41.
That does sound like fun.
-
TCU wins!!
-
Been watching the downton abbey marathon on local pbs channel but really dozing on and off
-
Man, I feel like I just played the game myself.
-
Are you feeling better tonight, Vixmom?
-
I am beginning to fade.
I think I'll say good night, all.
-
Good night, John.
-
We must get to the next page.
-
Slow going tonight.
-
But we can do it together!
-
Okay. I can do it together.
-
Just one more post.
-
Five!
-
I have no insights tonight.
-
So, it is the same as usual.
-
Where has SungWung been lately?
-
I hope he hasn't been working Vixmom-style hours.
-
Oh wait. This is the weekend.
-
The final score of the Alamo Bowl was
TCU 47
Oregon 41
The biggest comeback in bowl history.
-
I wish I could go bowling!
-
Sometimes I forget my limitations. The other day I saw an infomerical for a NordicTrack Incline Trainer. I was wondering how much room it would take up in the second bedroom. Then it finally occurred to me! I can't walk!
-
I have been working on my lines on and off today.
-
I believe I have the first act down completely.
-
The second act, not so good.
-
But I don't have to be off book in Act 2 until Thursday.
-
I should have the second act down by Tuesday.
-
That gives me two nights to call, "Line!"
-
I hope we all remember each other's names at rehearsal on Monday.
-
At least, the character names.
-
Feeling somewhat better but the voice keeps coming and going and the cough is very annoying
-
I don't have anymore wfphiskey yo add
-
No Pythagoras was
-
Hell, I had to stop and think what my character's name was.
-
The iPad has a mind of its own it's like typing on a dang ouigi board
-
No Pythagoras was
You stumped me with that one.
-
I ran out of whiskey yesterday it was just a wee bit in the bottom of the bottle when I started the other day
-
I am enjoying the updates on the novel-in-progress. BK, are you finding comedy different to write from writing a mystery or western? Does it take any different approach?
Same approach, really, because there's always so much humor in the regular books. And I'm trying to find ways to have it have a bit more depth at times, just for fun.
-
I am not drunk this is just a combination of moot fast fingers and the iPad adding of its own two cents in time from time
-
My fat fingers
-
Stooooooooooooopid ipad
-
I've done about twelve pages and am exhausted from too little sleep, but I finished the long chapter and may write a bit of the new one just so I pick up tomorrow in the midst of it rather than starting a new chapter first thing - it's easier if there's something there already.
-
No Pythagoras was

I have no idea the iPad just added that
-
I dozed off for almost an hour earlier.
-
I am not drunk this is just a combination of moot fast fingers and the iPad adding of its own two cents in time from time

I don't like the auto-correct at all. I turned it off on my tablet, so all typos in my posts are directly fom me.

Hello, everyone.
I seem to have gotten the cold that is going around. So many people that I know have it.

Feeling somewhat better but the voice keeps coming and going and the cough is very annoying
Glad you can see some improvement.
Vibes you continue to improve. And Ginny, too.

Perhaps one of DR Elmore's ghosts is residing in your iPad.

At this rate BK will have the first draft done by Friday.

Of course. You want your typos to be your own, originals--not some robotic substitute. I quite understand.
-
DR Elmore, I, too, loved the early seasons of FOYLE'S WAR. They keep bringing it back because it's so popular--and I'm glad they do--but the flavor has changed a bit. I have to say that I don't love it quite the way I did, but I'm not sure why. There are only three episodes to season 9 and they all appear to be a bit different. I'll watch them happily.

Vibes to all!

Hi, Tom.

Vibes for your lines.

Good night, Jeanne.

I must say that I am truly saddened by the death of Natalie Cole. I really enjoyed her voice and her music. R.I.P. Natalie!
