Well, you've read the notes, the notes were meaty, and now it is time for you to post until the meat of the cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: IATROGENIC!
-
The first really meaty post after BK!
-
A first not-so-meaty post after TCB.
-
;)
-
Tofu to you.

Hello, 1 Guest!
-
What's your favorite casserole?
-
good morning to all
-
Looks like a high of 83 today. But maybe rain tomorrow and back in low 70's.
-
What's your favorite casserole?
Does Skip's gourmet macaroni and cheese count since it's made in a casserole dish?
-
Wednesday morning greetings! Thanks to everyone who sent vibes for the Mom thing - it is what it is.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I like it when the meat of the cows comes home. Oh yes I do.

Last night's Chautauqua was just what I needed. Richard and I went early and ate dinner from the food trucks. We found my friend Becky and sat with her for the pre-show music and then the McNeils joined us in time for the performance. Theodore Roosevelt was portrayed by a retired history professor from Minneapolis. He was great, both in character and out. Tonight=Dian Fossey.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Although my doctor says I will not get the full benefit of the injection for a couple of days, I think I will find it exactly what was needed. The pains are already much less than they were, and I slept quite well last night.
-
This morning I'm meeting Rosemary Ashe at 11:00 for a cuppa. Then I head to the Kaufman Music Center to work at the piano for an hour before our Moonshine & Mistletoe music director joins me. I have some things to play with about underscoring.
-
I think that's all my news. I need more coffee.
-
I am sorry to hear the news about Bright Star.
-
Congratulations to DR John G on his promotion!
-
I am sorry to hear the news about Bright Star.
So am I...

I am sorry to hear the news about Bright Star.
Wouldn't you know?
Watching the Tony's on Sunday, it was the one number from a show that I really liked. In fact, I'm planning to pick up the CD this week.

Errol Flynn speaking in my one-person play, FLYNN:
Back around 1948….I was filming DON JUAN….Some
lady I’d “known” began spreading a nasty rumor that
I was physically… “under endowed”.
A story like that could’ve destroyed by public image.
I had to nip it in the bud, so to speak.
One day, I invited Vincent Sherman…. He was
directing DON JUAN….into my dressing room.
All I had on was a towel…my favorite attire.
“Vince,” I said, “I want to go over a point or two
about this next scene….”
While we talked, I “accidentally” let the towel slip to
the floor.
Vince almost died….I was wearing a rubber cock…
two feet long…. Perc Westmore had made it for me
in the make-up department.
Vince says, “We’ve got to pull this on Alan”.
I put the towel back on, and we call in Alan Hale.
“Alan,” I said, “about this scene….” And, I let the
towel drop….
Hale doesn’t bat an eye. He takes one look at the
thing, says: “I’ll take a pound and a half”.

I am hoping that BRIGHT STAR tickets are on TDF again next week, because i'd love to see it one last time.

DR George, as DR TCB said, 'Congratulations, I think". ;)

Congrats to JohnG!

I had a doozy of a dream last night: I was in Oxford, Ohio, and trying to remember the consecutive seasons of Miami University Summer theatre. it was begun in June 1966, and i worked on every one of the first six seasons. So, I was trying to remember, was The Firebugs the same season as The King & I? Sis Marjorie Somethingorother play Mrs. Anna? Friends from the 1960s were in and out of it
Then I was outside on Seventh Avenue and 48th Street in Manhattan, and the person looking at seedlings in this nursery-deli was my late friend Thom Heinrichs, whom I'd dreamed about a couple of weeks ago.

Howdy everyone.....just a quick note to let everyone know that the latest Broadway Radio Show is now loaded to the website featuring my chat with our very own BRUCE KIMMEL as we chat about the EUBIE! cast recording (and hear several wonderful tracks from it) and other fun topics! Enjoy!
-
It's definitely morning.
-
HA!
DR CHAS SMITH I shall endeavor to keep the play title accurate.

Trimming the bushes vibes for MR BK.

MR BK - what do you think of this?

Not much. There's a perfectly good recording of the score.
-
I'm up and awaiting the arrival of some guy.
-
A gentleman caller.
-
I wonder why the radio show isn't playing for me.
-
Okay, it does when I switch from Firefox to Chrome. I don't recall having to do that before, but as long as it works.
-
Whatever idiot was supposed to be here at eight has not arrived - since I got only five hours of sleep I did not really need to get up if this jerk isn't showing up.
-
Yes we have a fine recording of that show already.....strange.....
-
Good news from DR VIXMOM about her assistant!
-
Still a no-show. As soon as the local CD dealer comes and goes I may go back to bed.

I get really irritable when that happens.

Ir's been a good day except for the lousy bus ride home from Lincoln Center. The MTA seems to insure us that life can be shit living in NYC and relying on them. I already dread tomorrow's ride to 21st Street since the bus schedules have been crap all week.

In 1971-72, I crashed and burned as a college instructor because I was too immature and unprepared for an academic career. I was embarrassed at the time, but I have come to realize it was one of the best things to happen to me or i would not have had the life I did. The only positive side of that disastrous year were the friends I made and the scene designer and his wife who made me their best friend that year. They fed me, kept me company, offered advice, a guest room when I was too drunk to drive home, supported my projects, and when I had to pack up and leave, helped me get through it. I had known for several years that Sue, Charlie's wife, was fighting cancer. Today I received an invitation to her memorial service.
She was a lovely lady.

Downloads coming in still. There are another six or so to go. Even doing the perfunctory math it's too long for one CD, unless I'm really off on the last tracks coming in, which I won't know until later. Since I don't really want to cut anything, we're trying to think of what we'd add as bonus material. One thing we could add is the monologue about the Pan Pacific Auditorium - I'd put it on as a bonus track I think rather than in the musical program, although if I put it on in show order it would have its own track so people could skip it. What do you think? I could also put on one of the sketches in the bonus section? Then we'd do two CDs and break CD 1 at the end of act one.
-
Oh no. Sorry, DR Elmore. What a lovely remembrance.

And when am I not the type who wants it all? A 2-CD set sounds wonderful.

I had my hairs cut earlier today. My hairdresser, Richard, attended a Tony Awards viewing party sponsored by the Writer's Guild the other night at the Beverly Hilton and was saying how nice it was to see people elegantly dressed. It was a mostly over-50 crowd and they were dressed for the occasion. Like me, Richard is a casual dresser, but I too like to see people dress with elegance from time to time.

Yes, I also vote for a 2-CD set.

Bruce, was the audio recording made on Thursday night (when I was there) as well as the video?

-
Man, was it hot this evening.
-
I was out in the heat pouring wine at a fundraiser. It went on for close to four hours. But people were pleased with what we had to pour.
-
Also got to go around and eat a lot of stuff that many of the people at this site wouldn't eat, all of it good.
I think my favorite was a watermelon-blueberry soup (and since I knew the chef, he added a little gin to the mix, making it truly delicious).
-
Good evening!
-
Larry, my condolences on the loss of your friend.
-
But Larry, great early news on the injection.
-
I guess this is the day for good medical news.
-
Sandy had a very positive doctor's appointment.
-
There is no remission possible, but the cancer has been slowed by the chemo.
-
And the doctor thought a trip to Vegas would be a good thing for Sandy.
-
That's really good news for Sandy.
More vibes.

My condolences, Larry.

Finished off Cop Rock. One of the stars, Anne Bobby, was on BK's recording of Merrily We Roll Along.
Loretta Devine was a wonderful guest star with a good solo number while regular cast member Vondie Curtis Hall had been her co-star in Dreamgirls.
Not a great show by any means, but not terrible and surprisingly topical.

Hello, 0 Guests.
-
It's me against the world,
Sometimes it feels like me against the world.
-
I have noticed in the last 24 hours, or so, the news media has stopped referring to the nightclub shooting, as the "gay" nightclub shooting.
-
For the first few days it seemed like they were trying to put some of the blame on the victims for being in a gay nightclub.
-
Sorry, it is a pet peeve of mine.
-
It makes no difference what kind of nightclub they were in when they were killed; they remain the innocent victims.
-
I hope I have nothing on my calendar tomorrow. I feel like being really lazy.
-
Maybe then I can figure out where my camera is hiding.
-
I thought it was in the camera case next to my desk, but that is an older camera.
-
I might have to use that one, if I can't figure out where the new one went.
-
I am probably looking right at it. It drives me crazy when my brain fails to function.
-
I am excited that SHE LOVES ME is going to be filmed.
-
I imagine it will be released on DVD at some point.
-
My muscles are really cramping tonight.
-
I may have to take two more muscle relaxers before bed.
-
Also got to go around and eat a lot of stuff that many of the people at this site wouldn't eat, all of it good.
