Well, you've read the notes, the notes were inexhaustible, and now it is time for you to post until the inexhaustible cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: NEPHALISM!
-
First post after BK!

I am waiting for a Mandy review.

I am waiting for a Mandy review.
The show was great. It was just Mandy and his accompanist for about two hours with no intermission. He told stories and sang and it was a very well put together show. The audience loved him. I'm very glad I got to see him. He sang "Children and Art" and "Sunday" from Sunday in the Park with George. I got a little teary-eyed at that. He also sang "The God-Why-Don't-You-Love-Me Blues from Follies. :D
-
And I can't believe that I forgot that he also sang the complete (solo version) of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody!" For real!
-
Tired I need to get some more sleep

I have little news. I feel like the sheep in Candide:
Every day is like the other . . .
-
DR John G, I can report this concerning several E&T folk:
DR Singdaw claims he will return when his workload eases up.
DR Dan(the Man) has ignored my several inquiries into his disappearance
Anything I know about Ben is conjectural, since I haven't seen him in some time; he used to post during the day from work, and I gather there are many changes in his workplace.

I've almost finished the new Barbara Cook bio. I enjoy it.

Got to sleep in which was needed and lovely, but I still feel tired. Took a Benadryl to ensure a solid sleep while relieving light but irritating allergy symptoms. That worked, but here I am, sneezing again.

There's a Roar of the Greasepaint at Goodspeed which closes tomorrow that I'm sorely tempted to drive over for. It's in their second theater, not on the main stage, and I haven't been in there. As of a couple of days ago there were good seats. I wonder. And how often can you see one of those? Perhaps more often than I think? But this is Goodspeed. Hmmm...

The usual suspects, I guess....since these are already named.
I will add a Twilight Zone episode called The Odyssey of Flight 33 - about an airliner that gets lost in time and tries to find its way back.....

My trip to market went well. As I waited for the bus to come home I had to deal with what I will charitably call an alte kakke with a walker who insisted on push me to buy his great composers coloring book. Oy!
Happy to be home. The chicken soup is begun and I need to cjop onion and garlic, then get to work on "Fugue for tin Horns."

There was a story that the CD is selling quite well. It landed on five different Billboard charts, including the Top 100.

I love this show. I wonder, though, if the audience reaction the author is describing is the type that BK got after recently.

This show and the cast are really magical. People either like it or detest it, but for those who do, it catches your heart. Carmen Cusack was robbed of the Tony. Her performance as a young girl at 16 and her older self at 39 is amazing, and she slides beautifully between the two time zones. The story, which contains a bit of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale, while its critics call it hackneyed and unbelievable, totally worked for me.
So, I think for a lot of people going into the show this week they find a delightful. moving romance, a bit of a fairy tale, and a heroine so wonderful you can only wish for her happiness. Audiences really want Alice Murphy to have a happy ending.
-
Moving vibes for the Vixter and her boyfriend!

So glad you get to see it again DR ELMORE. I do love the CD!

Oh yes Terror at 20,000 Feet gave me nightmares for YEARS.

Cooking and most of ther cleanup is over. I have a huge pot of chicken soup and a smaller pot of a chicken stew-potage. When everythig's cooled, I'll put it into containers for the freezer and scour the stove.

Talking vibes for MR BK - but I don't think he requires them.

When mine gets here I'll be sure to post all over the World Wide Web as to whether it's CD or CD-R.

Meanwhile, here's a download that's at a resolution double that of CD audio -- which, for this Encores! recording, I'm mighty tempted to entertain the idea of buying it a second time.

The page says file size is 1.6 GB, so you couldn't burn it to CD. Maybe you can burn it to a DVD instead? I'm beyond the normal limits of my knowledge here.

Actually ChasSmith, burning onto a CD is dependent on the length of the file(s), not the size. If the file format is compatible with the burning software, it should work...I think.

But of course none of that matters if you have crappy speakers or headphones. That will negate any quality of the recording.
-
And now, I must be off. I have to get a card for one of my staff who is retiring, then I need to check the mail of a friend and his wife who are vacationing back east with her family and their friends, then it's the final evening performance of "The Bible...."
Be back later.

We have a month of company and reunions with old friends. I will be somewhat E & T. It is nice having friends near.

Back from the talk. I had fun, some good questions, mostly talking about the CD producing stuff and the wonderful folks I worked and work with.

Hey, Vixmom, any plans to be in Florida in late September?
-
Love & Friendship was fun. It's not a great movie, not even a great Whit Stillman movie, but my friend Gail, an Austen fanatic, and I both enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Quite a lot of laughs.
And it felt good to be back in a movie theater with other people again. There were about 30 or so for the first matinee. Nice turnout for a picture that's been here a few weeks already.
-
It might be possible to burn audio files to a DVD DR CHAS SMITH - the internet says you can....depending on the original format.....however a regular CD player would NOT be able to read the disk and it would have to be played on a DVD player....
At least that's what a cursory glance at the inner web seems to say....but I could be wrong.

Hello, everyone.
-
Bill Cunningham, the NYT fashion photographer, has died. Apparently, he had a stroke last week sometime, then passed away earlier today.
Every Saturday I'd tune into his NYT video for a little taste of life on the street in NY. I loved his passion for fashion--even god-awful fashion--and his incredible knowledge of fashion history. What an open mind!
Even though I never met him personally, I will miss him dearly.

I've been going through many of the cookbooks that Mickey left me. I have really got to be more choosy. Maybe on a second go-round.
-
One bad recipe and the book goes into the give-away stack. One example: A kidney bean salad with sweet pickle relish, hard-boiled eggs and, well, I had to stop reading there and rinse my mind.
-
I'm off to go dancing tonight. Not practice, but actually dancing.
-
We have 20 pre-sold tickets, but already we've sold more than five for walk-up! This will be a GOOD audience! :D

Many of them are Jewish, and are really looking forward to the show. :)

I love kidney bean salad with hard-boiled eggs and celery. I don't think I have ever used pickle relish, but it might be okay.

Hey, Vixmom, any plans to be in Florida in late September?
Actually we will be there the second week of September...Gosh we all are like ships passing in the night,
-
Too late for Ginny too early for John
-
I have been packing boxes all day
-
Hi, Debby!
-
Today was a beautiful day in Tacoma.
-
It was only about 73 degrees but it was very nice.
-
We just got back from the church
-
I sat on the balcony and people-watched a lot of the afternoon.
-
The Vixter bought two. Really nice Thomasville wall units from Savers They were selling for $30 a pice but we had a 30% off coupon so she got them for $45 for the pair
-
We had no where to keep them at the tie and the head of the church preschool kindly allowed her to out them in the walk in closet (it's really the size of a room about 12 X 20 )
-
Unfortunately when bringing the. In we slipped and damaged the back of one of the units
-
Vixdad just came down and fixed it
-
Cause who does love furniture repair Ina deserted church at 11:45 at night?
-
Well not entirely deserted there were four of us there
-
But we got ahead start on everything communion set up in the sanctuary, the chapel cleaned up, coffee hour set up.
-
I have volunteers to run it so that's nice

Shouldn't that be the Vixas Roadhouse?
-
There wasn't as much foot traffic today for the Taste as in previous years.
-
They introduced a free parking at the community college, plus a free shuttle ride to the taste and back.
-
I am sure that is why the foot traffic was lower.

Well it is vixemployer. Monday night will be her final shift
-
This was the David Hasselhoff production.
-
I tried watching JEKYLL AND HYDE, the musical today.
Oh no another murder just like that other murder.....
-
The Vixter was quite distressed to see than the Jekyll and hyde restaurant that was on Broadway right across from Schubert alley was closed. She and Charles had planned to have a lunch there today
-
This was the David Hasselhoff production.
We have the dvd
-
I hasten to add it was purchased at the goodwill and we had not seen the stage production prior to plunking down $1.75 for the dvd
-
Which reminds me ...the eve of .Elmores hated Into The Woods ( the traditional viewing while trimming the Christmas tree in this house) is selling for ridiculous amounts of moolah
-
I wanted to buy a copy for the Vixter for her new home and although the British And Australian region DVDs can be bought for a reasonable price the.us region DVDs are trading for Between $30 - $65
-
Bottom line, I don't like JEKYLL AND HYDE.
-
Bottom line, I don't like JEKYLL AND HYDE.
I saw the pre-Broadway tour with Robert Cuccioli and was riveted! It was so well done.
-
Finished with my viewing and am about to go meet some folks for a late-night snack - I only had an omelet and bagel at ten so I'm quite hungry but will NOT be eating anything foolish. Perhaps a sandwich or perhaps some chicken tenders or perhaps a salad of some sort.
-
I saw it on Broadway, but, at least, it had Robert Cuccioli in it; and not David Hasselhoff.
-
I only made it as far as the first transition to Mr. Hyde, and I had to turn it off.
-
I watched the DVD and laughed my ass off...and not in a good way. It was so different than the tour and all I kept thinking was that NONE of the changes that I could remember were improvements. Why does that seem to happen so often? :P
-
Well I have to be at church in 7 hours so. Nighty night
-
Well, we were going to have some kind of cast party tonight, but the three actresses all wanted to go home, so we're going to do something during or after strike tomorrow.
-
And I must be off, now.
Be back later.
-
Well I have to be at church in 7 hours so. Nighty night
Good night, Vixmom.

-
Good bye, George.
-
Greetings, 2 Guests!
-
What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
-
Close to 80 degrees tomorrow.
-
I need to go take my medications and switch over to the iPad.
-
Good bye, George.
Hi, Tom! I'm home.
-
Hi, George, I'm back.
-
Where did you eat in Tacoma last night?
-
Where did you eat in Tacoma last night?
Actually, we didn't. We left my sister's house in downtown Olympa at about 4pm and the traffic was already really bad. We got off the freeway in Lacey (only about 6 miles north) and decided to go to The Main Chinese Buffet on Martin Way and hope that traffic would improve. We were there for about an hour and it helped somewhat. It did take us about an hour to go from Lacey to downtown Tacoma, which normally takes a half hour.
