We watched KILLING REAGAN last night.

Was very disappointed.  Thought they left out the most intriguing part of the book.

There was a TV movie many years ago, THE DAY THEY SHOT REAGAN, that was much better.

Weird dreams lately. One I remember had me going back to Catskill and everyone expected me to take over the newspaper and do all the work. My friend Jim, who left that paper before I did, showed up to announce that I was back to do the job, even though I hadn't been told anything about it. And he promptly disappeared. I don't remember actually doing any work, I just heard people complain about how overworked they were.

Tom, I just got an e-mail from the PHYSICIAN stage manager confirming the performance dates:  Dec 2, 3, 4 (the 4th is a Sunday night show), Dec 8, 9, 10, 11 (the 11th is a matinee), Dec 15, 16, and 17 (close on that Saturday night).

Finished with the commentary.  For a show that was supposedly built and written, I changed two-thirds of the show and had to write most of the commentary from scratch, because back in 2011 and our fifth show, I hadn't found the style of the commentaries yet.  Thankfully since we've done songs from most of the shows in various shows through the years, I was able to cut and paste the history parts in - still it took about three hours to do, but it's done and one less thing to have on my plate.

I told the library selectors about this sale, and the fiction selector has chosen 14 pages of titles!!  However, because of the way the list prints out, there are only three titles per page...sadly, trees had to die for this sale. ;) She had originally wanted 4 copies of each title, but Criterion only allows 3 copies per title to be purchased, so that's what I can get.

Thanks for posting this, ChasSmith!

Richard and I just returned from a lovely evening at Miami University in Oxford.  We went to hear a lecture by Madeleine Albright that was better-attended than last week's presidential inauguration.  We were going to go uptown afterwards for Graeter's ice cream, but ran into our friends Katie and Mike in the lobby.  They own a bed & breakfast north of town and their daughter and son-in-law are the resident innkeepers.  Today is Mike's birthday, so we had cake & ice cream on the White Garden Inn veranda and watched the moon rise.

That sounds like a nice evening. I always respected Albright. I would have liked to hear her speak.

Watching a mess called "The Young Messiah," based on the novel by Anne Rice. All of the members of Jesus' Jewish family look like Gentiles and sport British accents. Bad people have dark skins, except for Lucifer, who's blond.

There are a couple of good actors, including Sean Bean and Jane Lapotaire.

Kay Cole is sick and has to cancel the session this weekend - have no idea when we'll all be available again and that included Capitol, but it certainly won't happen now until mid-November.

Very irritated at my classical CDs, which are all in the linen closet in such a way that I can't really get to anything without moving everything to reach the very back - all those CDs used to be out and in order where I could easily get to them.  Now it's just impossible.  Maybe we'll figure out a way to get them out into the garage where I can actually see them and bring them in to, you know, play them.

With the articles reporting that the great Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole are on their way back to Broadway:

Here's a "cell phone in the audience" salute,
"I'll Get You Kicked Out of Here" - a world-weary parody of "I Get a Kick Out of You"
(parody vocal recorded by Sheree Sano)

I can't open it on my iPad, so I will have to wait until tomorrow.

Two days ago I wrote a notes entitled In the Matter of Claus Ogerman.  Tonight he passed away at eighty-six.  I just listened to another Ogerman CD (with Danilo Perez) this afternoon.

elmore's friend Ben Davis just sang the National Anthem on Monday Night Football!  Great voice!

He was really excited about it.  I am very happy for him.

I originally wrote, "Elmore's friend Bed Davis...."  What would Freud have to say about that?

Between our production of WONDERFUL LIFE and Tacoma Little Theatre's MIRACLE ON 34th STREET, there aren't many actors in Tacoma that won't be doing a show at Christmas this year.

And on that note (G#), it's time for me to leave work.  A friend and I had made plans on having dinner tonight, but he hasn't responded back to my text.  It was his idea, so I don't know why he's incommunicado.  Anyway, I'm outta here!

Until later.

Well, it turns out that we were both incommunicado.  We chat via WhatsApp and when I sent my messages, for some reason he never got them.  Then at about 7:30, all of his messages to me just showed up, and he texted that all of my messages to him just showed up!  What's that all about??  Anyway, we didn't meet for dinner tonight, so we'll meet tomorrow at Five Guys Burgers.
