Well, you've read the notes, the notes were once charming and are hopefully still charming, and now it is time for you to post until the once charming cows come home.

Last night was not a good night for sleep.  There were plenty of weird dreams, but I only remember now a run of something in a theatre like the New York State Theatre Institute, only part of the cast was from my EILEEN and ROBERTA recordings, and we seemed to be in Hilton Head. Then there was this weird cast party . . .

As soon as I can this morning, I will head to the post office and send this resignation letter.

I received a certified letter yesterday.  The website to request redelivery doesn't work.  I then called for it, spent a lot of time giving my information to  an automated system only to be then told redelivery doesn't exist and to hold for a person.  10 minutes later I gave up so we could go for a walk.

I had to go get a new small space heater.  I got mine out, plugged it in last night.  It gave a POP.....and then was gone......  I think it's two years old, and it only cost $20, so I spent another $20 this morning for a new one.

I watched a Christopher Lee DRACULA movie last night that I had never seen.  It was called SCARS OF DRACULA and was fairly entertaining.  Made in 1970.  One of the main characters was something of a bounder as they said in the late 19th Century.  However, he was also fashion forward.  When Dracula discovered him in bed with his "helper" and threw him out....said bounder was wearing fashionable red bikini underwear......

I loved the Hammer films fashion mashups!  If the dress is long, it's 19th century.

At work, we're able to have personal things delivered without any trouble because it doesn't cost the library anything, but before I realized that, I would, of course, have things delivered to my apartment.  Sometimes, the UPS delivery person would leave a note saying that I wasn't home and they would be back tomorrow, but I wouldn't be home then, either.  It used to be that if I wanted to have UPS redeliver it to another place, like my work, it would be free.  I could just go on-line and put in the tracking information and new address.  Now (or at least as of several years ago), it costs $4.00 to redeliver to another address!  But if you want it held at the UPS delivery hub, that's free.  VERY fortunately, the UPS delivery hub is just two blocks away from where I work.  But since we can have personal packages delivered to work, it's not a problem. :)

Today is Friday in Oakland, CA.

Today is also our Silent Auction and our Nachos Sale.

I personally donated a bunch of kitchen stuff to this here silent auction.

I find myself looking forward to retiring by this time next year and facing a move across country.

I needed to lighten my load..considerably.

I'm up, I'm up - I was up at about four-thirty - something from last night really didn't agree with me and I suspect it was a combo platter of the rich carbonara and a piece of pizza that had a lot of red sauce.  I'm guessing my red sauce days are done.  I coughed a lot, trashed my voice certainly, and finally fell back asleep around seven so maybe five or six hours of sleep.

This has not been the pleasantest day of the week for me.

No, it has not.

Still, last night I got a terrific night of sleep.

When I was just about ready to leave the house this morning, I was
plagued with a bout of disruptive something or other.  It went on for
a while until my dosage of Pepto took hold.

I do hope I haven't come down with something.

When you say how much she likes that look, do you mean that she doesn't like the look at all, or that she really likes the look?

No, that couple still live next door to the north.  The monstrosity, that was JUST finished about eight weeks ago is the next house to the east of me and the new teardown is the house next to that to the north - that house actually shares a fence with the couple to the north of me.

Listening to some interesting Japanese classical music by Akira Ifukube, who, of course, was one of the top Japanese film composers - his most well known music is many of the Godzilla films, including the very first one.  In fact, listening to a classical piece from the 40s, towards the end suddenly we hear the famous Godzilla march from the first film.  The classical pieces are very much in the style of his film scores - he's pretty great.

On the way to the post office we discovered the address on the slip was for a different post office, not the one near us.  My neighbor and I still had a nice walk back.  That was her first time walking home from downtown.

I signed the slip and put it in my mailbox.  I will soon find out if that works.  The neighbor said she does it all the time.  I also found out if you put in the tracking number there is a box to fill in for them to redeliver.

And, btw, their beans are not of the kidney variety.  I'm no expert on beans, but I think they're pinto.  And I think those are perfect for this dish.  Now I really want to try Skyline's right away to compare flavors and beans and such, but I don't think that will work out.

I did, however, just pick up several cans of the Gold Star to add to my stash of several cans of the Skyline at home.  And a few more 12-packs of Diet Vernors.  This should see me through the winter.

My colleague on Guys & Dolls is not working as fast as I, so our invoices will not go in for at least another weekm I learned about an hour ago.  I am so financially screwed at the moment because of this news.  As Scarlett O'Fever says, I'll think about it tomorrow.

Friday morning greetings!  Richard's at the clergy meeting this morning and I'm puttering at our hotel.  We'll be outta here by noon to head west.  Tonight we'll be in either Beckley or Charleston, WV, depending on our driving stamina.  We rarely travel without confirmed lodging reservations, so we're kinda livin' on the edge here...

That is when cell phones come handy.

Except when you're traveling through a mountainous national forest!

Anyway, after several dropped calls I was able to make a reservation and we're now settled in for the night just south of Charleston, WV.

I'm watching for the first time Crazy Ex Girlfriend, since I have two friends in it, Donna Lynne Champlin and Santino Fontana.  It's very bizarre and very funny.  Santino did an Irish song, "When I'm drunk I pee my pants" and Donna Lynne sang something about luck changing while looking like a fairy tale princess.

And tried some new wines. The one Texas wine I tried was an oddity. It wasn't bad, but its taste was that of orange blossom water.

It was better than the wine from Arizona.

After that, I stuck to a couple of wines from California and a couple from France.

Not great. If I make them again, I will double the cherries and halve the amount of Eagle Brand (it calls for two cans). I'll also up the unsweetened whipped cream.

So tired.  Did a two-and-a-half mile jog, bought Halloween candy and some supplies for she of the Evil Eye, watched most of a motion picture and listened to music.  Visit with Mr. Sherman was delightful and is described in the notes that will be posted very shortly.
