I just had to make a phone call I didn't want to make.

My first real dental problem. My gum didn't heal properly after the crown I had done last year.

Not good.  Vibes you can find a solution!  Have you tried using a rubber tipped gum massager?

On the way to the post office we discovered the address on the slip was for a different post office, not the one near us.  My neighbor and I still had a nice walk back.  That was her first time walking home from downtown.

I signed the slip and put it in my mailbox.  I will soon find out if that works.  The neighbor said she does it all the time.  I also found out if you put in the tracking number there is a box to fill in for them to redeliver.

Which, in case you're wondering, is what I just ate.

Gold Star.  Hadn't had that one in a while.  It was excellent.

And, btw, their beans are not of the kidney variety.  I'm no expert on beans, but I think they're pinto.  And I think those are perfect for this dish.  Now I really want to try Skyline's right away to compare flavors and beans and such, but I don't think that will work out.

I did, however, just pick up several cans of the Gold Star to add to my stash of several cans of the Skyline at home.  And a few more 12-packs of Diet Vernors.  This should see me through the winter.

Those are a Stew Leonard's in Connecticut speciality, so they get picked up as soon as I get back.  And I'll make sure I get them to you right away.

I have been revising a piece I wrote for Halloween two years ago that started me on my memoirs.  I've finished the orchestration I was working on and I will show it to Joshie on Tuesday when he returns from Providence.

My colleague on Guys & Dolls is not working as fast as I, so our invoices will not go in for at least another weekm I learned about an hour ago.  I am so financially screwed at the moment because of this news.  As Scarlett O'Fever says, I'll think about it tomorrow.

They may be my only food for November!

I know you like Vernors.  Do you eat Cincinnati chili?  I'd be happy to include some in your gift basket!  :)

Regular, please.  I sugar replacement in diet sodas does not agree with my system.

Friday morning greetings!  Richard's at the clergy meeting this morning and I'm puttering at our hotel.  We'll be outta here by noon to head west.  Tonight we'll be in either Beckley or Charleston, WV, depending on our driving stamina.  We rarely travel without confirmed lodging reservations, so we're kinda livin' on the edge here...

That is when cell phones come handy.

Except when you're traveling through a mountainous national forest!

Anyway, after several dropped calls I was able to make a reservation and we're now settled in for the night just south of Charleston, WV.

And now, I'm off.  First, I'm going to my parents' for our weekly family dinner, then I'm going to the movies with my friend Margo.  I don't remember what we're going to see, but it'll be a movie that won't start until probably after 10 pm. :)

Be back later...much later.

From DR George:
Quote
I'm watching the first episode of the new TV version of "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" on BBC America and it's set in Seattle.  That's pretty cool.

You neglected to mention that the show is very strange  :-\ ;D

I'm watching for the first time Crazy Ex Girlfriend, since I have two friends in it, Donna Lynne Champlin and Santino Fontana.  It's very bizarre and very funny.  Santino did an Irish song, "When I'm drunk I pee my pants" and Donna Lynne sang something about luck changing while looking like a fairy tale princess.

We might watch an episode of COUNT ARTHUR STRONG.

I am not sure what else we have to watch.
