Well, you've read the notes, the notes were smoother, and now it is time for you to post until the smooth cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SUSURRATE!
-
First post after BK!
-
Second post after BK!
-
From last night:
Jane, since you re seeing George's show on Saturday night and probably staying overnight in Olympia, it would be silly for you to journey north just to have lunch.
Perhaps we could meet at Hawk's Prairie (where we met up last time)?
My sister wants to go and get a tree from a tree farm on Saturday and I have no interest in cutting down a tree. Maybe if it's at the same time, I could meet you while they're getting a tree. :)

Tom, I just bought a ticket for IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE's Sunday matinee, and it's right next to Jane and Keith's seats.

Tom, I just bought a ticket for IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE's Sunday matinee, and it's right next to Jane and Keith's seats.
Really?
Yes. Jane e-mailed me their row and seat numbers, and the seats on either side were still available.
-
Also, we have no Sunday performances, at all. Too many conflicts.

No Sundays at all? That is different.

No Sundays at all? That is different.
It is. We would usually do one Sunday evening performance so that people in other shows could see our shows, since no one else did Sunday night shows.
-
Funny, tonight some of the cast members were saying it was too bad we didn't do a Sunday night show so that the other people in Tacoma shows could see our show.
-
good morning to all
-
Good morning, all!
-
This is my physical therapy day, so I'll be out of here in another hour and a half.
-
DR George, is tonight your official opening?
-
I got new eye drops from my ophthalmologist yesterday and they burn like hell. Even worse, they are to be used twice a day.

I got new eye drops from my ophthalmologist yesterday and they burn like hell. Even worse, they are to be used twice a day.
Is that burning supposed to happen? Do the materials or write-ups online say that's a possible side effect, so that you shouldn't worry about it?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Ultrasound is done. No results until next week sometime.
-
Performance vibes to those with shows this weekend.

Good morning, all.

Is this a Friday?

BREAK LEG VIBES to any and all who are having another op'nin', another show tonight!

Yes. Jane e-mailed me their row and seat numbers, and the seats on either side were still available.
Which I noticed when I picked the seats 😊
-
I've got another op'nin' to attend, myself: Noel Coward's Private Lives.
-

Continued good vibes!

Twice a day forever?

TOD:
I still have many things that I recorded during the HBO free weekend, including 2 more episodes of WESTWORLD.
-
Also, we have no Sunday performances, at all. Too many conflicts.
I was pleasantly surprised knowing you might be able to join us.
-
DR George, I should have read the conversation between you and Tom before sending the email this morning.
-
We have used the nape of the neck Flea medicine DR JANE. But this particular Vet frowns on them....says they are not effective and recommends that we don't use them.
This new pill seems to have done the trick....it's only $10.50 from the Vet's Office. It lasts a month. It is called Simparica. Dr. Tamar says it's the latest and best.....but who knows.....
-
Congrats to MR BK on his Amoeba bonus - it's great when one thing pays for the other!
-
I bought my vegan sister a Ninja Bullet Extractor so she can eat all the vegetables she wants - and can drink them, too. I also found a couple of nice necklaces. I also got her and her husband some of those Virtual Reality headsets that you use with your phone....it came with six free apps.....
I watch the commercials, and it seems to me that I would get motion sickness from them, but I might get one for myself as well.
-
Opening night vibes for DR GEORGE!
-
Too much me on this page.
-
Good morning.
-
I am slaving away here at home today. I am cleaning the oven. I had to push a button.
-
Mr. Bill Hayes and his wife Susan Seaforth Hayes were at DePauw in September to do LOVE LETTERS.....they were VERY good....there were a lot of people around, so I didn't try to talk to them.....but it was probably the best performance of the show I have ever seen.
They also both spent time with the students and a couple of acting/singing seminars, and they charmed all of the students AND the professors!
Some of the boys put on a Davy Crocket Hat and sang to Bill..he was most amused. :D :D :D
-
You better sit down DR LAURA, you don't want to wear yourself out this close to the holidays.
-
TOD: I have A Funny Thing ... Forum in the car cd player.
My ipod died. RIP Dolores.

First post from me today.

I am slaving away here at home today. I am cleaning the oven. I had to push a button.
Could you train a dog to do that for you?
-
I have no dog. And Joshie just won't do anything I tell him to do.
-
Friday morning greetings! We thoroughly enjoyed SHE LOVES ME on the big screen last night. However, I am not comfortable with these new recliners they've installed in all the movie theatres around here.
-

Well, gosh!

I'll have to look into this, as well. Nice to know. Still, the "nape of the neck" flea medicine always worked on my cats.
-
Here are Bill & Susan at a symposium.....Bill is from the class of '47 at DePauw. You may have to be a member of BookFace to see it.

I'm up, I'm up - hammering aplenty, so seven and a half hours of sleep rather than eight.
-
I am home from therapy. It was a good session, and I go back on Monday. I wish the knee X-ray results would come through.
-
I have to finish orchestrating "The Hot Patata" this weekend. So, I guess it's time to get to work.
-
I am not one of them, but for any of you fans of the musical Titanic, here's the Signature theatre's new promo for the production that Joshie is currently orchestrating. His work is good, as you can hear on the video.
I just detest the show.

I know what you mean. I detest most of the movies, too. (Love the Barbara Stanwyck/Clifton Webb/Audrey Dalton/Robert Wagner version, though).
It's such a downer.
-
Fa-la-la-la-la La-la-la-la!

It's beginning to look somewhat like Christmas.
Except in Rachel's office (directly across from my cubicle).
She spent yesterday morning lining all her windows with LED lights.
After she left work, our boss walked by and said "String lights are prohibited." He unplugged her timer and left a note on her desk.
Her office is now barren of Christmas lights. She was NOT happy. LED lights are cool to the touch and there was nothing flammable coming into contact with them.
My boss is not terribly popular a çe moment!
-
Off with their heads!

Ford F-150 Super-Doody!

I have to finish orchestrating "The Hot Patata" this weekend. So, I guess it's time to get to work.
You need to get that finished asap, Larry. Your next assignment will be to finish orchestrating "The Hot Patootie".

It's Friday, and it's payday.
It seldom gets better than that.
-
Farewell to page 2.

Hello, Page 3

Go Navy, Beat Army!

I did mention I used that neck medicine on the dogs, however, it was DR Ron who asked "Jack, do you use those fleat/tick ointments that can be applied to the nape of a cat's or dog's neck? I found them super-effective back when I had cats."
I am glad whatever you are using it is not a Hartz product.

I like putting my legs up. We have only gone to the theater that has those seats a couple of times. We are happy with the stadium seating, much less expensive, theater close to home.

I am home from therapy. It was a good session, and I go back on Monday. I wish the knee X-ray results would come through.
I didn't realize you would have to wait for the results. Good luck!

DR Laura how did you foot manage on your long hike?

My zen stone is on the fritz, too. There's something similar on Amazon for $20, but I haven't bit the bullet yet.

Thank goodness you didn't ask Mr. Scrooge for extra coal on the fire.
-
I'm having Chinese for lunch. My dance instructor has lost her restaurant and today's the last day. Kinda sad.
-
Yes, kinda sad.
-
DR TCB, Prairie Hawks is fine with us. It is also very close to where we are staying. Might there be someplace closer to you? We will have plenty of time to drive back to the hotel after lunch and check into our hotel before going to the theater.
What time? We will be leaving home and going straight to lunch.
-
DR TCB is there an intermission?

I've noticed that the theaters in this area that have converted to the recliners haven't raised the prices of the movies. Hopefully, the prices will remain steady.

Back from getting my flu shot (high dose!) ... for free. :)
-
TOD - I have the L.A. Now and Then playing on my iPod - FINALLY. Taken me a few months and a replacement copy for this to happen. I love it so far!
-
DR George, is tonight your official opening?
Yes, it is!
Break a leg!
-
Had a good meeting at Kay's, then Doug and I got a bite to eat, then I came home. Cold out and windy and just too much to jog in this weather, much as I want to. But I've kind of made the decision not to go tonight - I don't think it's a good idea to be out two nights in a row and tomorrow night I really am obligated to attend.
-
Picked up a couple of packages. Richard Sherman will be here any minute to rehearse us singing Two Roads for next week. Then I have to just rest, I think. Listening to a Menotti triple bill - historic recordings of The Consul, The Medium, and The Telephone.
-
I just finished orchestrating the dance chorus of "The Hot Patata," and my mind is fried. Tomorrow I will work on the last vocal chorus.

I love The Telephone. "Hello, hello, oh, Margaret, it's you; I am so glad you called . . ." one of the funniest arias ever written, and that "Black Swan" duet from The Medium, is also cherce. The original lead in The Medium, a singer named Marie Powers, appears briefly in Capote's novella, "Breakfast At Tiffany's." She's the opera sdinger in the neighborhood who roller skates.

First the creator of the Big Mac died earlier this week at 98.
Now the creator of General Tso's chicken also dies at 98..

"Rodzinski" aka Tom something.
He used to post here. He also used to have a column at Playbill.com
Anyone still in touch with him?

We just ordered in General Tso's chicken in his honor.

Just thought I'd share - the information, not the chicken, unless someone wants to come over for some of it.

He is happily married and has a cute little boy.

And now, I'm leaving work. I'm going to my parents' for a bit to visit with my cousin and his wife (and maybe have some dinner), then I'm off to the theater for our official opening night!
Be back later!
-
I ran into Rodzinski last I was in NY a couple of years ago - too bad he doesn't come back.
-
I opted out of tonight, wisely I think. I had an omelet and hash browns earlier - I may get some chicken soup later tonight.

Back from a great dinner with Carol and Betty, who head back to upstate New York tomorrow.
We went to one of my favorite restaurants, which specializes in Cajun and Creole food.
-
We started with oysters on the half-shell, followed by crawfish pimento cheese toast and fried redfish with a salad.
Entrees included blackened drum, duck with sweet potato gnocchi and collards, and more redfish with cauliflower. Sides included baked cheese grits and green beans amandine.
-
But the desserts really rocked. I ordered the pecan pie with cream cheese ice cream on top and the brownie special, which came with egg nog on the side. Pieter, the chef, sent out the butterscotch pudding and beignets (not on the menu).
So, the three of us ended up with five desserts. Yum.
And Carol ended up with breakfast from the leftovers.
-
i haven't eaten like that in a while. Extra exercise tomorrow for me.
-
Just got a call from my doctor (at 9:40 p.m.) to tell me my blood test work had come back and everything looked good. Thyroid may be a little under functioning. She even said she doubted the ultrasound would be needed. I then told her I had it done this morning, and she said she'd get back with me further next week.
I've never had a doctor do that before.
-
I am home from work
-
That is all
-
I am home from the play. And that is all, too. (It was good.)

Sounds like some damned decent news, DR John G.

Hopefully, Jane and Keith won't be the only ones in tomorrow's audience. ::)

Beignets...yum!

Once in awhile you get a doctor like that. It is extra nice when the news is good.

I am home from work
Way too late!
-
Hopefully, Jane and Keith won't be the only ones in tomorrow's audience. ::)
;)
If we are, please remember I might not hear all the lines and respond appropriately.
-
And now, I'm leaving work. I'm going to my parents' for a bit to visit with my cousin and his wife (and maybe have some dinner), then I'm off to the theater for our official opening night!
Be back later!
We had a great opening night...smallish but responsive audience, and a good show from the actors. ;D
:)
-
Page five? Really? For the last four HOURS?
-
Finished with my viewing and back to listening to the last of the three Menotti operas - The Telephone.
-
Page six? Really? For the last four SECONDS?
-
After the show tonight, a bunch of us stuck around and chatted and mingled.
-
One of the actors made some pumpkin beer and he brought it to share.
-
I don't like beer, but I tried it and didn't hate it. ;)
-
It was interesting. I could actually taste the pumpkin.
-
Everyone else who tried it and likes beer really liked it.
-
And now I'm home watching "This Is Us."
-
Good evening!
-
My ipad has gotten disconnected from the Wifi, and now it wants a password to reconnect to it.
-
I have no idea what the password is for the wifi!
-
Nor do I have any idea how to change the password.
-
This really pisses me off.
-
Even when I have taken it on vacation, when I returned home I don't remember having to type a password.
-
I don't know where to go to reset the password.
-
The wifi is working fine on my laptop, which is what I am using right now.
-
How come I don't need a password to use it?

Great medical news for DR John!
