Well, you've read the notes, the notes were not judgmental, and now it is time for you to post until the non-judgmental cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PARERGON!
-
And a happy haineshisway.com birthday to dear reader Kate.
-
A Very Happy Birthday to DR Kate!
-
I just finished watching a DVD from the library, a British movie from Britain called Tyrannosaur (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0069UV0LS/). It's very interesting and kind of violent, although you don't see a lot of the violence. Anyway, the DVD that I have is the last library copy...all the other copies were lost or stolen or just went missing, and this last copy is damaged. The hub is cracked, but not so bad that it didn't work, but definitely bad enough that I, as a library employee, won't allow it to be put back into circulation. There aren't any other holds, so I'll let the selector know so she can decide if she wants to get new copies or not. We had our first ever (as far as I can remember) budget cut, so she probably won't replace it. :-\
We'll see.

Topic of the Say (kind of): One of my favorite authors is Fredric Brown. One of the first books of his that I read was one of his several sci-fi short story collections called "Space On My Hands." The cover on the edition that I read had absolutely nothing to do with any of the stories in the book. Here are a couple of early covers:
and:
I don't know if either of these is the original cover, though.
-
Here's another cover that looks like it was later than the edition that I read:

-
All of those covers are very science-fictiony. However, here is the cover of the edition that I read:

:o
-
I got that book from a friend of my mom's when I was in high school. Fortunately, she told me (and my mom) that the image has nothing to do with the stories, and really enjoyed them. :)
-
And now, to bed.
-
Good morning to all
-
Good morning, all!
-
This is a therapy day. when I get home, I will work for an hour or two on Guys & Dolls, then go back to "The Great Indoors."
-
Good morning, all.
-
Lots to do today. This and that and the other thing. Feels like a Monday.
-
TCB, are you in touch with a doctor or nurse or anyone?
Hope this is the turnaround day for you and you start feeling better posthaste and forthwith.
-
Good morning, all.
-
More vibes for DRs TCB and Kerry.
-
Happy birthday, DR Kate!
-
Well, it's a Monday for sure now.
Car won't start, and I'm 99% sure it's the starter again -- the starter that was REPLACED last month.
My day is complete.
-
Monday morning greetings! Richard and I each have 2 routine medical appointments this week - sounds like old people!
-
Happy Birthday DR KATE.
Continued health vibes for DR TCB!
-
Yesterday's Middletown Symphony Orchestra concert was only half symphony. The other half was Maestro Carmon DeLeone and his New Studio Big Band with guest Mike Reid. Katie and I had a good time and were glad to get home before the snow got serious.

I like MR BK's style of judging which is also the style I use when i am asked to judge anything. I haven't had to for awhile....but it is good to be positive.

TOD:
So many!!! DR GEORGE's example was most entertaining!
Among my favorites would have to be
BENJAMIN KRITZER - although ALL of MR BK's books have great covers!

I just realized I bought my copy of VOD the paperback edition in February, 1967, with my first income tax refund....it cost $1.25....50 years ago!!!!
-
Later there was a paperback movie tie in edition with stills of the stars from the movie....I got one of those many years later at Goodwill. I had bought the LP soundtrack for twenty five cents from a Cutout bin at a local drugstore about a year after the film's release.....

I'm up, I'm up - awoke at six and unable to fall back asleep - don't know why really, and I might go back to bed, but the hammering, while not horrible, is out there so it probably won't happen.

I agree. It's also harder. But worth it in the long run.

Two!
-
Car vibes for ChasSmith.
-
Biopsy finally scheduled for Feb. 7. And I hope a little stress relieved. Though I'm not quite sure yet.

Isn't it amazing, though, how -- even though those two original ones are entirely different in concept -- they still beat the living pants off the later ones?

Vibes for a good report!

Happiest of birthdays to DR Kate!
-
Finished the newest play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection and have just ordered the printed proof.
Once I check that, I will announce the title and make copies available in both paperback and on Kindle.
-
Starter vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
Health vibes for DR JOHN G.
-
I like the title Space On My Hands.
-
I got back in bed and I think I probably got another hour or so of sleep so that's five hours.

There once was a lady named Kate,
Whose birthday was on this fine date,
She wanted a cake,
But her friends could not bake,
So her candles just sat on a plate.
Happy Birthday, DR Kate!

Greetings from the [ adjective deleted ] car place.

I painted myself into a corner and I'm stuck until I hear back from Rob Berman or Joshie.
I'm also in need of a nap.

Finally! Vibes it is a real stress reliever due to excellent results!

Randy called me. His meeting with the realtor went very nicely and the property is listed. We're going to see what nibbles we might get.

Corner painting AND nibble vibes! :)

In other news...
Fuel pump. Yes. Which sounds like an innocent enough thing, right?
Well, it's about $1,133.00 innocent. Or guilty, if you prefer.

Yikes! :o Was that just for the part and labor? I have a '98 Ford Escort and was told at the place that I usually take my car that a fuel pump for my car would be about $700-800, plus an extra $100 for labor. A former coworker of mine has a Subaru Outback and she told me that she had her fuel pump replaced (at another place) for only about $500...including labor!

at the moment I remain in the corner. I got a cryptic message from Rob Berman and nothing back from Joshie, I cannot continue until I get a yea or nay, and it's working my last nerve that I've been waiting around for two hours for an answer.
-
More health vibes to John G!!!!

Happy birthday to DR Kate!

Sorry to have been E&T but it's been a little busier than usual.

It's a VW. I love it, but never again.

Rehearsal in forty minutes.

Had a fun lunch with David Wechter at the Coral Cafe - had my chicken strips and fries. And who should walk in to lunch at the restaurant but our very own John Boswell.

I might have said I was thinking about doing this, but I did re-watch THE FACULTY just a couple of weeks ago, and though I have no idea what your original story was like or how it differs, I really enjoy it.
-
Our original script is vastly different in every way, save for the bones of the story structure, which is all ours and Elijah's character is the same archetype as ours. I enjoyed what they did with it, but in many ways ours was better and I will say we had a couple of really great gross out scenes they should have kept.

BK, have you ever thought about expanding your original idea into a novel and publishing the story that you originally wanted to tell? Charles Pogue did that with his original version of "Dragonheart (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1572971304/)."
Just a thought. :)

Rehearsal vibes for MR BK & Co.

That's a LOT of money.....DR CHAS SMITH - more money than I paid for my first car....in toto.

It's a VW. I love it, but never again.
It is a shame it has become expensive. We have a VW SUV, diesel that can not be fixed. Recently they announced the buy back price which we plan to take advantage of at some point.

Just ushered a very weird event. The theater was taken over by a hotel chain for their annual awards dinner. So the seats were dropped, the floor leveled and the dining tables set up. I was mostly directing people to the bathroom and answering questions.
-
Now I'm sitting in a Mexican seafood joint with a ice-cold beer and two blazing hot sauces that are burning my mouth in different but welcome ways.
-
ChasSmith, I'm sorry about the car repairs.

I didn't know that was possible.

Yup...I've ushered for a couple of those kinds of events. The WCPA is also available for corporate rentals, but I haven't heard of that happening in quite a while.
-
And now, I'm off. I want to get something to eat, then I have to do some laundry...very much needed laundry. ::)
;)
-
Until later!

I once took The Case of the Negligent Nymph to the Lutheran grade school. I was thereafter forbidden to bring any more in the series to school.

Rehearsal was really fun. Now I'm relaxing - no more food for me this night.

Muse Margaret loved the cover I loved, so we have a cover now :)

My first load is done with the washer. Now, it'll go into the dryer. I need to wash my second load tonight, so I need to get that started.
-
Good night, all.

Muse Margaret loved the cover I loved, so we have a cover now :)
Good.

Garage door has been misbehaving for about two weeks - mostly working fine, but tonight every time it closed it opened again all by its lonesome - really irritating. After eight times I just pulled the little red cord and put it down manually. Happily I found my receipt for the last time we fixed it and that has a fifteen-year warranty on it, so they'll be here tomorrow between 12 and 4.
-
It's pretty unanimous on the cover - Nick Redman loved it, and so did Grant Geissman, who'll be designing the interior of the book.

FEEL BETTER VIBES FOR DR TCB!

GOOD HEALTH VIBES FOR DR KERRY!

Well, this is pretty cool...Washington state sues Trump in effort to halt immigration executive order nationwide (http://q13fox.com/2017/01/30/washington-ag-filing-lawsuit-in-attempt-to-halt-trumps-immigration-executive-order-nationwide/).
-
Good evening!
-
Today I think I turned a corner.
-
I think my fever broke this morning.
-
Either that or Nicky dumped a bucket of water on top of me.
-
Anyway, I think the worst is over.
-
Now I just have to start feeling better.
-
Thank you all for the good vibes over the last few days.
-
I have been kind of a Johnny-One-Note the last several days.
-
Yay, TCB!

Page four? Really?

Page five? Really?

Seen any good movies lately?

That damn Harper Lee stole my book cover.
-
I need to switch computers.
-
I shall return.
-
I don't know who I thought I was telling.
-
There is nobody here but me.
-
The only thing I have eaten in the last three day is chicken soup.
-
I must be feeling better.
-
Now I am really hungry for food.
-
What I really want to eat is Kraft Macaroni and Cheese
-
Isn't that weird.
-
Or a nice filet mignon.
-
But back to the mac and cheese.
-
But I want it made with sour cream instead of milk.
-
And with a can of tuna and sliced black olives.
-
Isn't this what survivors in a lifeboat do, to pass the time?
-
Talk about what they most want to eat.
-
My bed has become my lifeboat.
-
Meatloaf! What made me think of that?
-
I thought Nicky was really snoring tonight, but it is only my sinuses.
-
Poor Nick, how has he gotten any sleep these past several days?
-
Were the SAG Awards broadcast live on the left coast yesterday?
-
I sure didn't see them listed on last night's schedule.
-
Hello, 1 Guest!
-
Anyway, I think the worst is over.
Great news, Tom!
-
Were the SAG Awards broadcast live on the left coast yesterday?
Yes, but on TNT, not one of the broadcast networks.

Yes, but on TNT, not one of the broadcast networks.
So, they were broadcast at 5:00 p.m.?
