Well, you've read the notes, the notes were super and had video and were posted on a Sunday, and now it is time for you to post until the super Sunday cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LUCULENT!
-
Sorry Tom, I got lost in my book.
-
First post after Jane, after BK!
-
Great videos, BK.
-
First post after TCB, after Jane, after BK!
-
Loved the videos in the notes!
-
I especially enjoyed "Mama, A Rainbow."
-
Lorna Luft did that as the closing number of her nightclub debut in San Francisco back in 1972.
-
A post from yesterday:
Dear George - take a day off already :)
Today! I plan to do nothing but watch TV and probably some laundry.
-
It was the only reference to her mother.
-
Great videos, most entertaining!
-
The idea of a movie remake of WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION is just too horrible to contemplate......it would probably be even more awful than the remake of THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE....
-
Good morning, all.
-
Feels like it's time for a nap.
-
Good morning, all.
-
A veritable cornucopia of videos, and I just watched them all. Beautiful stuff.
-
More coffee!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Since I detest football, I will either listen to music or have the television on PBS as I work. I would like to finish "Let's Fly Away" today so I can spend tomorrow on Guys and Dolls.
-
I don't think I need to step out of the apartment until tomorrow. I like that.
-
DR TCB, how are you feeling?
-
Is DR vixmom driving back from Florida? Perhaps she's home?
-

Is the Ben Affleck remake for big screen or for TV?
-
I guess I could go on imdb and look, but that wouldn't be a post.
-
And wouldn't get us any closer to page 2.
-
What am I doing up at this hour? I've been up since four-thirty, actually - something from last night's food is making me nauseous a little, so I haven't been able to fall back asleep yet.
-
Back from church, but in need of much sleep.
-
My allergies were not kind to me last night.
-
I'm stuck in a quandary: saxes or clarinets?
-
Page 2
-
Sex or clarinets? That is the name of my new novel.
-
Hello, 1 Guest!
-
Sunday afternoon greetings! Fr. Richard went to church in Dayton and I stayed home to begin getting our house ready for the new shower to be installed. They'll start demolishing our current bathtub at 9am tomorrow.
-
DR Ginny, take before and after photos.
-
I also love the original WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION.
In a remake, I could see Anthony Hopkins or Tom Wilkerson doing the role, but neither would be as good as Charles Laughton.
-
I am pleased to announce (one day before I post it on FB) the latest play (with music) in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection.
It's called AVA & HER GUYS.
There are 4 characters: Ava Gardner, Frank Sinatra, Mickey Rooney and Artie Shaw.
It's available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle editions, so please take a look.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1542815592/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1486254132&sr=1-1&keywords=ava+%26+her+guys

DR Ginny, take before and after photos.
DR Jane, I took a lot of photos for the company and have put a few of them in a Facebook album called Bathroom Update 2017. I will add some during and after photos as the week progresses.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Yes, nice videos, BK. My favorite is also "Mama, a Rainbow."
-
Feel better vibes for DR TCB.

Thanks. I will watch for them.

Does anyone know - is it a very big expensive or time-consuming job to strip vocals from a CD track? (assuming all permissions have been obtained form the songwriter, orchestrator, etc, to do that, of course)
-
Finally was able to fall asleep and get an additional four hours - I'm very groggy, though.
-
I'm stuck in a quandary: saxes or clarinets?
Is that the title of one of your old VHS movies?
-
Congratulations, DR Druxy!
-
Watching a really sad documentary called Dancer about the Ukranian ballet dancer Sergei Polunin, who was the youngest principal with the Royal Ballet. His mother drove him when he was a child and he exceeded everyone's expectations, but he felt empty and was highly self-destructive, so he quit at the height of his abilities. Watching him dance is almost freakish because he can do things with his body that I don't know that I've ever seen anybody else do and with an ease that's astonishing.

Time to get ready for going to watch the game. I'm making a hot crab dip. I hope it's as good as it sounds. A pound of lump crab meat with cream cheese, salsa and hot sauce. Baked together with breadcrumbs on top.
-
DR FJL I use a free program called AUDACITY to remove vocals sometimes. It's not perfect, and you have to play with it a bit.
Once you upload the track, you highlight it, then go to effects in the drop down menu. Near the bottom of the list is Vocal Remover. It sometimes leaves a shadow of the vocal.....but sometimes it's good enough for what I want. Depends on how it was recorded, I think.

-
Jane, you said you were finishing a book last night. Was it any good?
-
Nice book cover DR DRUXY! Good luck with the book!
-
Y.W. DR FJL....it's a start anyway.
-
Clarinets. And the chart is finished. I'm now watching the BBC production of Emma, with Kate Beckinsale.
-
What a beautiful day it is today!

It's snowing in Tumwater!

A very valuable start! That keyword for the Audacity program got me to some interesting YouTubes on the subject. So I wonder if it's possible to remove the vocal to that extent all by myself, if that means if I brought it into a studio they'd be able to do it even better without costing an arm and a leg..
-
Perhaps that is so DR FJL.
-
42 degrees here.....its' springtime!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Nice videos.
-
I watched WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION last night, a new version from Acorn TV, starring Toby Jones and Kim Cattrall. I liked much about the production, especially the overall look of it, but it had a revised ending, which didn't work for me. I'm now eager to go back to the original. I don't have a copy here, so I'll have to wait until Netflix sends me one.
-
TCB, does your posting indicate that you're feeling a bit better? I hope so. Please update us on how you're doing.
-
continued vibes to TCB, Kerry, and anyone else needing them.
-
I have no other news.
-
TTFN.

I just applied for tickets for Antiques Roadshow in Portland in August 2017 (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/roadshow/tickets/)! It's a lottery, so earlier applications won't guarantee receiving a ticket. According to the website:
On or about April 17, 2017, ticket winners will be selected in a random drawing by a third party. All applicants will receive an email in early May with a link to our online Ticket Checker, which you can use to find out if you've won tickets.

Good luck, DR George! Do you have something to bring?
-
Even though I have the bluray of Hello, Dolly I'm watching it on something called the retroplex channel, which I didn't even know I had.

Is DR vixmom driving back from Florida? Perhaps she's home?
Counting the cars on the New Jersey turnpike

Well Chas, we have finally discovered the trick to avoiding a huge traffic snarl at the Goethal bridge and verrazzano bridge. Arrive just after the Superbowl has begun
-
We have never been across so quickly

I want to bring the Stephen C. Foster song collection again. It's what I brought the last time, but the people in Collectibles looked at it, and I think it was the wrong category. I want the book people to look at it this time...if I get tickets again.
-
The game is on and I'm posting here. Even the commercials are boring me.
-
Good luck, George.

I just found out that I now have channels up to 1879! Before (and I don't know when it changed), all the channels in the 900s were the digital music channels and local radio stations, and that was as high as they went. Now, there are potentially twice as many TV channels.
-

I'm recording it just for the half-time show.
-
Good luck, George.
Thanks, John!

Good luck! The first Pacific Northwest HHW gathering was a result of your going to the Antiques Roadshow in Portland. I won't have to travel as far to see you if you come down ;)
If I haven't mailed you your Alamo key chain by then I can give it to you in person. It is nice, in the shape of Texas, says San Antonio, and has a picture of the Alamo on it.

Excellent choice, Jane.

Is anybody here a Johnny Mercer fan? I found a hardback copy of the complete lyrics for $2. I couldn't let it go, even though I already have a copy.
-

I liked the talking yearbook photos, but can't for the life of me remember what they were advertising.
-
Good luck DR GEORGE.
DR KEVIN H the Retroplex channel is nice....even though it isn't HD in my area. And you don't have to worry about missing a movie....they show them endlessly....
-
Picked up the little package, went to Gelson's and got a little of their chicken enchiladas and some cashew nuts for snacking. Then I came home.
-
I watched a documentary on the Flix of Net, ate, and then began creating the Indiegogo campaign - still have to add some images and some perks but I can do that later this evening.
-
Listening to some Prokofiev on SACD then I'll watch a movie.
-
At one o'clock Gelson's was a madhouse - I simply do not understand why everyone waits until two hours before the Super Bowl to get what they need.

Thanks, Jane, but I don't think you should hang on to it. First, I won't know until May if I will even be going, and then the event isn't until August.
-
Good luck DR GEORGE.
Thanks, Jrand!
-
We saw LION today. While I don't think Nicole Kidman was a horrible as Bruce did, I don't think she deserves a nomination for best supporting actress. And what was with her voice! I couldn't hear half of what she said, which is understandable except Keith couldn't either and his hearing is fine.

;D Is that a hint to mail it? I do plan to do so, once it warms up. When I need to go to the post office I have Keith drop me off on the way to the gym and I walk home.
-
At one o'clock Gelson's was a madhouse - I simply do not understand why everyone waits until two hours before the Super Bowl to get what they need.
And WHY would you not wait until the Super Bowl began to go to the market 😃
-
It has rained/poured all day. Instead of exercising I have eaten way too much :P
-
It looks like it stopped snowing. We'll see if it starts again.
-
The Super Bowl party was out of town and the air was breathable. The moment that the car came back into town, I started sneezing. My chest feels tighter and breathing is no longer easy. Blech.
-
Oh wow, that was an incredible 4th quarter of the Super Bowl.
-
POST #100!
-
It was good. Did you enjoy it, Jennifer? Or were you rooting for Hotlanta?
-
Those were great videos Bruce , thank you for posting them
-
We did not see any of the game
-
We did not see any of the game
But did you see any of the commercials?
-
Watching That Touch of Mink. It still has its charms. Most of them belong to Cary Grant and Doris Day.
-
Went back to Gelson's and got a couple of shrimp skewers for my snack. I'm tired of them, though, so no more of that, despite the low calorie count.
-
We did not see any of the game
But did you see any of the commercials?
I just went online and watched the halftime show and the. Commercials
-
And since I have to be up for work in 6 hours...
-
Goodnight
-
Good evening!
-
Happy Sunday evening!
-
I am supposed to be at the eye doctor at 8 a.m.
-

Do you know what the town air has that bothers you?
-
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I will be going.
-
It is now snowing in Tacoma.
-
I am glad the game was exciting for those who watch it.
-
Some areas of Tacoma already have 4.5 inches of snow.
-
It is now snowing in Tacoma.
At what point do you leave a message that you can'take get there?
-
Oh, I think you have reached it ;D
-
Not so much here, but it is supposed to snow all night.
-
Tacoma has now cancelled school for tomorrow.
-
Jane, there may not be anyone to call in the morning.
-
I would leave a message tonight if you are sure you won't go. They possibly check it from home. I know my dentist's office does.
-
How much snow do you think you have?
-
Well, it is snowing outside, but it is not sticking at my house yet.
-
It is just now getting down to freezing.
-
I guess then you are waiting to decide.
-
I'll see what it is like when I wake up.
-
George, how much snow do you have?
-
At the library, they set up text notices so that if a building will be closed, they can notify people before they leave for work. HOWEVER, the last time they did that, they made the decision to close the Service Center after people had already gotten to the building and were actually working without any trouble. They said for them to go home and call back in a couple of hours, which was a stupid decision, if you ask me. If the employees are already there, they shouldn't have to leave unless the power actually goes out, which it didn't. It was a bit of a mess. I hope that they don't make the same mistake tomorrow. :-\
-
George, how much snow do you have?
Weather.com says "accumulating 1-3 inches," but I don't know how much it has snowed already.
-
I need to switch computers.
-
Back in a flash.
-
I have returned.
-
No one missed me?
-
Not even a single guest.
-
Suddenly I live in the banana belt.
-
Maybe George is out building a snowman!
-
I guess the upstairs neighbors went out for a walk in the snow.
-
Or maybe they drove across town where there is some snow.
-
Jeanne asked if I was feeling better.
-
I am certainly on the mend.
-
I spent a lot of time sleeping today.
-
I am certainly on the mend.
Very good!
-
Maybe George is out building a snowman!
I just finished watching "Hancock," starring Will Smith. It was a fun anti-hero movie. I'm now watching the season premiere of "The Expanse."

Since there is no school tomorrow, we must be having a mother-daughter slumber party upstairs.

Everyone seems to be partying tonight.
