Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a thrill ride, and now it is time for you to post until the thrill riding cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FACETIAE!
-
First post after BK!
-
If you saw THE TIME MACHINE in 1950, you must have had a time machine. The film wasn't released until 1960.
-
I didn't say 1950.
-
Page one? Really?
-
A question for BK...in your notes, you wrote that you "bought a thing of low-fat mile for one-fifty," but what's "low-fat mile"? I understand the concept of low-fat, but I have no idea what "mile" could be.
-
I didn't say 1950.
Sorry, I stand corrected.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, George.
Good night, Tom.
-
I don't think the blurb reveals too much - I think it just inflames the imagination for what is to come.....
-
Travel vibes for any of our East Coasters who have to venture out today!
Snow Blowing vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
-
good morning to all

BK
Re: Taxi Driver
Do you think they could have released a bonus (unrated) of the final scene with the color put back in considering all the films release since that have had more violence and not restricted by the MPAA?
-
Good morning, all!
-
I have my doctor's appointment at 1:00. I am not looking forward to it, so we'll see how it goes. I still miss my doctor who left to get married, and I feel my new doctor of the past year and a ha;f is too slow on the uptake. My pharmacy has had to call her office twice for refills on my meds since sh's not on top of them, I feel she's slow on referrals, and I resent it.
-
I'm also not looking forward to getting to the bus and the office in al the snow, and that's my self-pity for the morning.
-
Hmm, I'm having paypal trouble. is there another way to buy the book?
-
Doctor's appt. vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Sometimes you have to clear your cache DR FJL.
-
TOD:
We have several TV show episodes recorded that we will probably watch this weekend (e.g. CHICAGO MED, NCIS, etc.).
We're likely to skip SNL this week, since Alec Baldwin is the host.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Having laptop problems at work is no fun.
-
I'm sitting here incapable of doing anything but eat king cake and kolaches.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Just taking a few minutes to sit back in the recliner and ketchup, so will have to do any real posting later.
-
I've been working
on the railroad - outdoors for about three hours, and just have to collapse for a bit.
-
We haven't seen a mess of a storm like this in a few years. I think the official average total here was about thirteen inches. And it's a messy thirteen.
-
I can see DR John G. shaking his head, and saying "No."
-
Part two of "Take Me Back to Manhattan" has landed. My weekend work is set.
-
I can see DR John G. shaking his head, and saying "No."
You know the struggle I put up. Herculean.
-
So my new supervisor is a coworker who wants an early advocate of mine, a mentor of sorts, and a Lutheran. His wife works for the Girl Scouts and he's my cookie dealer. I'm happy.
-
Hmm, I'm having paypal trouble. is there another way to buy the book?
Ditto. The link won't connect for me from the Kritzerland site.
-

I'm sure that's both good for you and not so good for you. People have developed serious death from working hard outside in snow. The good part is that if you are pacing yourself, you are probably doing yourself some extreme good. If you are getting frustrated and over-exerting, you are probably doing yourself some extreme bad.
I'm all for collapsing and resting. But make sure you can get up and move on from there.
-
Sometimes you have to clear your cache DR FJL.
I'll try that as well.
-
Drat! Didn't work. What I get is a white screen at the center of which is the image of a closed lock. A circle is around it and there is a revolving bit of blue going around the circle. Round and round it goes, but when it will stop, nobody knows.
-
I've sent my order by going to Paypal. Made payment of $32 to White Sheik, etc. Hope that's all right!
-
That might be best DR RLP.
-

Understood. I'm not snow shoveling -- that's what gets people in trouble -- just a little scraping and such in small spurts. Most of the work is running the snowblower, the leaf blower a little bit, salting and sanding, that kind of thing. And it is indeed good exercise. I'd just rather be doing other things.
-
It's a Herringbone kind of day. "Not President, Please" has taken on a whole new meaning.
-
I've been getting orders so I'm not sure why there's a problem. It sounds like what FJL is seeing is it trying to connect to PayPal site. You can always go directly to the site
-
Not quite up yet

I had a problem last night, too. The Add to Cart button was missing the first time I went to the page.
-
Good morning.

I'm doing some yardwork today.

Good news, John!
-
My labor for the day is done.
-
I know I should go out and snap a few pictures.
Maybe in a little while.
Or I could just post some pictures from the Presidents Day Blizzard of aught three for y'all's viewing pleasure.
-
Alec McCowen has died. I always enjoyed him, especially in Frenzy.
-
TOD:
We're likely to skip SNL this week, since Alec Baldwin is the host.
I can't wait to see him trash the idiot Orange Cheetoh! He's always spot on and the Tramp Klown Kar keeps filling up with more grifters, whores, and thieves to ridicule.
-
And I am home from the doctor. Came out much better than I expected.
-
Alec McCowen has died. I always enjoyed him, especially in Frenzy.
When I was working for the Drama Book Shop in the 1980s, McCowen was performing his "Gospel of St Matthew," I think that was the gospel, at one of the churches in the theatre district. I always wanted to see him onstage.

Mark. It's the shortest of the four. I saw a production of it in Louisville but sadly with another actor. I had wanted to see him in that and in Richard Wnilbur's verse translation of The Misanthrope with Diana Rigg.
-
Friday afternoon greetings! I was outta here shortly after 9 this morning to be in Centerville for my monthly art journaling class. We had fun scraping paint onto paper, then making little books. Also learned some image transfer techniques.
-
And I am home from the doctor. Came out much better than I expected.
Good to hear!
-
I'm up again - was up at seven-thirty for some reason, got up, did the Facebook stuff, then went back to bed and fell asleep at nine-thirty and got back up at noon, so I think there's eight hours in there.
-
Have gotten more orders this morning and no one's written about problems, so it must be a Paypal glitch - let me know if there are more issues.
-
I just tried the checkout process and it went all the way until I cancelled out of it. The spinning lock that FJL saw is the log-in to Paypal's site - sometimes that takes about thirty seconds, but should connect.
-
Page two? Really?
-
Fred, please tell Skip how much I enjoy Herringbone. It is truly one of the most deliciously twisted musicals I have ever encountered.
-
Three!

I did a little Facebook page for Thrill Ride, so go like it or join it or whatever one does. https://www.facebook.com/Thrill-Ride-by-Bruce-Kimmel-196706237476599/
-
And we even have a stupid hashtag - @thrillridenovel
-
I LIKED the BookFace Page.
Good news DR ELMORE!
DR GINNY that sounds like fun.
-
I don't know if anyone else watches WHEEL OF FORTUNE, but one day last week, a woman called a letter and it lit up.....and Vanna didn't move....finally she jumped and ran to turn the letter..... Pat Sajak said: "Just thinking about life, i guess."

Jane, There's a four-star review on Roger Ebert's website of a documentary named Kedi about the cats of Istanbul. Sounds fascinating.

Had some tuna pasta salad. I actually forgot to buy the elbow macaroni I always use, so for this batch it was penne pasta - not quite the same and not quite as good.
-
Sending good vibes to anyone who needs them! It looks like our days of it being in the 80's is going to change tomorrow as we get the rain from southern California and temps in the 70's.
-
Raining here. The helper came by - she actually went to the mail place for me and brought home a couple of packages and some mail. Naturally the one thing being delivered by Amazon's own truck isn't there yet and probably won't be until five or six, so I may leave that for tomorrow, or I may go get it and get a sweet for my treat later.
-
Well, I need to leave work now and mail a package, then go to my parents' house to help get a couple of new toilets from Costco. Fortunately, I won't have to help install them. Whew!
Be back later.
-
Everyone is busy!
-
And still more toilets!
-
Well my jaunt yo the city was called off, much to my relief. I am S I C K, body aches, sneezing, coughing a headache the whole magilla
-
I left the office at 5:30 hit home by 6 and took a hot shower and a dose of Alka Seltzer cold medicine
-
Now I'm in my Jammie's while my tea brews and my dinner heats up

Thank you. This looks very interesting. I wish we had been able to go to Istanbul and that the people can still take care of the cats.

CONTINUED HEALING VIBES FOR YOU!!!

Lovely comments on the Facebook page - well over 100 likes without even trying, which is lovely.
-
And got a nice e-mail in response to the eBlast I sent - from my darling Hayley (Mills).
-
Feel better DR Vixmom and stay home tomorrow!!!
-
DR TCB were you able to speak to your dental insurance company regarding the fact you are paying for insurance that can't be used?
-
Hello, everyone.
-
FEEL-BETTER-PRONTO VIBES to VIXMOM!
Grab the Sambucol.
-
Good evening!
-
Great title and cover of the book, BK!

I went to acupuncture today. Parking on the street isn't usually difficult, but today there was nothing. I drove a couple blocks to an area Erik had told me about and found a space. But when I came back after treatment no car. It was that eerie feeling you get when you THOUGHT you parked your car there, but it's not there. Oh, dear. I walked back to the acupuncture office to get out of the rain, then started making phone calls. Yes, the car was towed. Apparently, I'd parked partly in someone's driveway, which of course I'd never do intentionally. I had no idea it was a driveway--probably because I as so glad to finally find a space. There were lots of trees and what I thought was a fence. Apparently, it was a movable fence.
I took a cab to the impound lot, paid an exorbitant fee, and now have my car back. Inside the car was a ticket, quite sodden, in addition to the impound fees. Ugh! About $350 total. So much for saving money.
-
Good news from Elmore about his doctor's visit.
-
Good news about John G's new supervisor.
-
Too bad you didn't have a photo - I'm sure you weren't really blocking the asshole from getting out of his driveway or whatever.
-
Tonight I'll return to CLOSE TO THE ENEMY.
If anyone else watches Poliakoff films/TV I'd be interested in your reactions. Poliakoff has his own style and a fair amount of social commentary. They're not Screenwriting 101.They have substance and I'm drawn into his characters. I always find them interesting.

OUCH!
Any change of suggesting a sign be put on the fence since it is deceiving?
-

I'll have to be careful about camouflaged driveways. The parking restrictions are so strict that there's hardly enough parking for the businesses. One residential street after another with zero cars, all because the residents won't allow anyone but themselves to park on the city streets. I don't know what The Powers That Be are thinking.

I think I'd be wasting my time and energy. I'm sure the City won't require it and I doubt that the homeowners would see my point.
-
I'd like to find an online source for parking restrictions, say, block by block. That would be useful.
-
TTFN.

I don't think you can get your money back, only kindly put they might do something so others don't get towed.

I'll tell Skip that, too!!

Received a Blu-ray review copy of NOCTURNAL ANIMALS today, which we will probably watch tomorrow.
-
I'll try that alternative route to paypal.
-
And got a nice e-mail in response to the eBlast I sent - from my darling Hayley (Mills).
Wonderful.
-
That's a horrible story, Jeanne. So sorry for you.
-
Watching a fine documentary called Cameraman, about cinematographer Jack Cardiff, who shot the Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger movies and a great many other fine films.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Really? Page four?
-
Reservations in at the library for both Allied and Moonlight, two of the movies I really wanted to see last night but missed at the theater.
-
Well, why are we waiting here on page four?
-
The grass is greener on page five.
-
At least so I believe.
-
But what do I know?
-
I know I need to get to bed.
-
But not before we move on.
-
Five!
-
Hello, 0 guests!
-
And good night, all.
-
Yesterday nine pages, today barely five. What is wrong with this image?
-
Good evening!
-
Page 5? Really?
-
Another day, still a beachball face.
-
The pain seems to be less and less each day.
-
I now have an "evaluation" appointment on Tuesday at an oral surgery clinic.
-
One of the surgeons takes Medicare patients, so there is hope.
-
However, my stupid insurance company says that I can't have oral surgery paid for, unless I have a referral from my regular doctor. Say what?
-
So, to be safe, I guess I will go see my doctor on Monday and try to convince him that he needs to give me a dental referral.
-
Hopefully the swelling will be gone by Monday.
-
It is a drive on the freeway to reach his office, so hopefully I can see clearly.
-
Tomorrow is supposed to be a sunny day.
-
I think I will finally go out for some potatoes and gravy.
-
Or maybe spaghetti. Something soft and delicious.
-
The other day was so rainy, that I didn't want to get soaked just for some food.
-
Sunday it is sop posed to be in the fifties. Not bad considering we started the week with snow.
-
I just ate a piece of chocolate.
-
Actually, I kind sucked on a piece of chocolate.
-
No Guests tonight.
-
Or anyone else.
-
I wonder how George's toilet seat tour went this evening?
-
These V-Day restaurant emails keep showing pictures for steak dinners. I could probably eat the baked potato.
-
Hello, 1 Guest!
-
And got a nice e-mail in response to the eBlast I sent - from my darling Hayley (Mills).
That's so cool!
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Hi, George.
-
We have 2 Guests.
-
Page 6
-
I wonder how George's toilet seat tour went this evening?
Well...my dad and Larry (my sister's boyfriend) and I all went to Costco to get the toilets. When we left after my dad paid, we asked for help loading them into Larry's car and the two Costco "helpers" dropped one of boxes! :o They opened up the box and didn't see any damage, so we left with those boxes.
-
HOWEVER, when we got back to my parents' house, we looked deeper in the one box and the tank WAS broken! So, back to Costco we went. We were able to exchange the damaged box and did NOT get help putting it back into Larry's car, and we left again. So now, it's all good.
-
Are they both for your parent's?
-
We then had dinner (chicken nuggets that my mom made with real chicken(!) and mashed potatoes), then we played Phase 10. I lost big time.
-
Are they both for your parent's?
Yes, my mom wanted to replace both of the old toilets that they have. These have a half-flush button to save water.
-
Ohhhh, mashed potatoes!!
-

Oh, no! That's terrible!
-
Ohhhh, mashed potatoes!!
Yup (finally), but they were instant...which I actually don't mind.
-
Some instant are very good.
-
Some instant are very good.
And you certainly can doctor them up.
;)

Oh Jeanne, I am so sorry to read about your day.
