Today is the start of my 28 day (Monday thru Friday) chemo/radiation....I took my three morning pills and will head to the hospital around 9:45 for my 10 a.m. appt.

No side effects would be nice....we shall see....30 minutes later so far so good.

But I have to take points away for that television movie based on Rosemary Clooney's book that starred Clint Eastwood's girlfriend....it was an insult to everyone involved.

There was also a television movie about the McGuire Sisters....it was even worse.....they always had the sisters dressed in identical outfits, and one of their trademarks was that each sister's dress was slightly different than the others'.....

Hmmmm.....now I can only find photos of them dressed in identical dresses.....maybe I dreamed it.....but those girls could SANG!

After further discussion I returned home with a small--12" x 16"--foam pillow designed to fit into a boudoir pillow case AND a larger--16" x 16"--egg crate pillow, backed with a denser foam. I will order decorative pillow covers from The Company Store so that the pillows will match the sofa. Very affordable. I have a couple other foam projects in mind, but first I'll see how Pillow #1 and Pillow #2 work out.

It was the Vivien Leigh original. I didn't know there was a remake.

I found it a bit long, but I know that today's audiences are used to more action and a faster pace. I kept thinking that Mrs Stone should move to another part of Italy, where people are more genuine. I also felt that she needed to find a cause, something she believed in. If I had millions I'd be doing all sorts of things.

My friend Curtis is the best pop writer I know with a way around a good tune. He's far above the writers of Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen when it comes to melody, so there were some nice musical moments. I really am tired of pop vocalists in musical theatre; I don't want to hear falsetto or a lot of crooning from the men; I'd kill for a good baritone. I do not want to hear adenoidal young ladies whisper in head voices; I'd like to hear a real soprano or belter again.

Got to the convention center just in time to get a front row seat to hear author Scott Turow speak. Then Richard and I met my grad school friend Vanette and we all went to the Gala Author Tea - lovely refreshments and a great panel of 6 novelists. Vanette came back to our hotel for drinks and a visit. After she left, we went across the street for Subway sandwiches for dinner. Packing now for home while watching the Sister Act movies.

Behold the Dragon Burger. The pretzel bun is made with mushroom powder and there's mushroom mixed with the ground beef in the patty.

It's all for a James Beard contest that one of the local chefs has entered.

It was delicious.

They had to tear out the back wall of our closet and left a mess all over the floor. They said someone would clean it up first thing the next morning. After 2 notes from Richard and 2 text messages from me, the mess was still there this evening. On our way out for dinner we stopped at the desk, where Richard made it clear we're not pleased. The upshot is that our account will be credited $75 and, about an hour ago, a housekeeper came and vacuumed our closet.

At first I wasn't going to be in the number (Velma and Corny aren't either), but then I asked who was going to be the flasher, and she asked if I wanted to be the flasher, and I said of course, so now I'm the flasher! I'll have plenty of time to change into Spritzer for his first scene. :)
