From the internet:

Tempus edax rerum. That wise Latin line by the Roman poet Ovid translates as "Time, the devourer of all things." Ovid's correlation between rapaciousness and time is appropriate to a discussion of "edacious." That English word is a descendant of Latin edax, which is a derivative of the verb edere, meaning "to eat." In its earliest known English uses, edacious meant "of or relating to eating." It later came to be used generally as a synonym of "voracious," and it has often been used specifically in contexts referring to time. That's how Scottish essayist and historian Thomas Carlyle used it when he referred to events "swallowed in the depths of edacious Time.

I went through this same sort of thing back in May...for SIX WEEKS!  Trouble was that the elevator is so antiquated, they no longer manufacture the boards that make it operate.  One had to be built for it...and it was, apparently, not a priority.

My building will be replacing the elevator (i.e., an upgrade) in early October.  By then, I will be living in Johnston SC in a ranch-style abode.

I have a new personal trainer--AND a new exercise method. There's a Gyrotonics studio next door to my acupuncturist. It's similar to Pilates in their use of pulley-style machines and I've been wanting to try it. Both my acupuncturist, who has taken their classes, and Erik, my therapist, approve. I had my first session yesterday. I felt better after just one session. Of course, much remains to be seen, but I feel optimistic. I woke up today quite sore, though. Arnica took care of a lot of that. I explained to the trainer yesterday what a basket case my back is and emphasized the need to take this SLOOOW. She likes challenges, so that's good!

Yes they are, but no toss-up for me.  My eyes are fine while my mouth is still sensitive.  At least it gives me excuse to eat soothing ice cream.  Actually, my mouth is better than usual.  I think that is because it was the back top molar.

I've never had a crown, but I've never had any trouble with my eyes being dilated.

I didn't have to drive which is usually my issue.  Sunglasses and a hat shaded my eyes from the sun.  This was the first time I put contacts in after having my eyes dilated.  It might have made it easier having them in.

Freshly package has still not arrived - I HATE Ontrac - they are the worst, and the delivery guy always makes the UPS Store his last stop.

Jane, are your eyes still dilated? It's a toss-up as to which is worse: a new crown or eyes dilated.

Yes they are, but no toss-up for me.  My eyes are fine while my mouth is still sensitive.  At least it gives me excuse to eat soothing ice cream.  Actually, my mouth is better than usual.  I think that is because it was the back top molar.

You never need an excuse to eat ice cream.

True, however, I ate more than usual ;)

When I am on a diet I figure it is a good thing the food isn't eatable ;)

After reading about Kay Cole's cabaret show, I did a little research on youtube and found out that she was a guest on The Carol Burnett Show!  There are some nice clips of her, including a "rain" medley with Carol and Vicki Lawrence.

Freshly meals arrived.  Wondering whether to have one this evening, which would leave me an odd number, which means that on Saturday I'd only have one rather than two - guess that's all right.  Or I could make some pasta with butter tonight and save the Freshly stuff so I have three days of it.  I've been enjoying the pasta with butter and frankly I don't think what I had for lunch was more than 200 calories, if that.

Thanks for the report.  It is rising here into the high 80's.  I am hoping those temps drop before our son comes for a visit.  I am sure he would like a break from the heat.

I was in choir from middle school through five years of college, and I did discover musicals during high school, but I never actually acted until after I graduated.
