Title: KRITZERLAND AT STERLING'S 79
Post by: bk on August 07, 2017, 12:03:19 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at Sterling's 79, and now it is time for you to post until the 79 cows come home.

Here's High Time.  This is from the main title tune, which you can hear on You Tube.

High Time

When all your worries and woes surround you
And grind up and ground you
Don’t sit and stare and seethe
Just take a breath and breathe
When all your troubles and cares just blind you
Then put them behind you
It’s high time that you did, so don’t delay

When you’re mood’s goin’ down
Pick it up, and then go and paint the town
And then when life starts cramping your style
You just say, “Sorry, I can’t be bothered”
And you simply start to smile

And then you don’t let it all defeat you
‘Cause it’s time to treat you
To all life has to give, it’s high time that you live
It’s time to wake up and start ignoring
The humdrum and boring
So grab life by the throat
High time that you’re a winner
And so be a winner today

When your sun doesn’t shine
You can shine, and the sun might take the hint
And if the bad just turns into worse
Just say, “I’ve had it with bad”
And put the whole megillah in reverse

And then you don’t let it all defeat you
‘Cause it’s time to treat you
To all life has to give, it’s high time that you live
It’s time to wake up and start ignoring
The humdrum and boring
So grab life by the throat
High time that you’re a winner
And so be a winner today.

I shall have to think about the TOD.....I like THE OUTLANDER, but it is on its third season starting next month.....

There was no new series that I really started watching regularly last season....and there are only a couple I am looking forward to this year, including Seth McFarlane's THE ORVILLE.

I keep seeing the promos for the new shows - it used to be my favorite part of the summer - but I don't see anything that I HAVE to see except the aforementioned program.

It certainly is quiet in the house this morning.  I did not sleep because I did not want to dream.  Maybe I will sleep today.

DR JEANNE you are correct - the vet was not sure how old Precious was when we got her.  She was a rescue....he estimated five years old, but she could have been older.  So she was at least ten years old.

I am not feeling so hot this morning, ad this seems to happen after every job ends.  It's as though my body and adrenaline wards off any potential impairment until the job and my involvement are over.  When I worked summer theatre in the 1`960s and early 1970s, I'd come home from two months of too little sleep, too much partying and junk food, building a show every day and running a performance every night, I'd go to bed for a week abd do nothing but sleep.

I think I'm at a personal low for watching, or even knowing about, current TV shows.

I've tended to gravitate to the more offbeat stuff.  TWIN PEAKS currently, BATES MOTEL most recently, BIG LOVE, THE WIRE, SIX FEET UNDER, DEADWOOD.  And everybody's favorites, offbeat or not, THE SOPRANOS and MAD MEN.  I started off loving BOARDWALK EMPIRE but lost my way and need to return to it for real sometime.  I loved the short-lived MAGIC CITY and wish it hadn't had the rug pulled out from under it.

That sounds like a lot, but it isn't.  Those cover the past fifteen years or more!  I have no doubt there are others I'd love, but I'm just not fanatical enough about staying on top of what's coming, the scheduling, and sitting my arse down in front of these things and giving them a chance.

Age has caught up with me I think. I left the wedding early 11:30 just as things started to kick up. I went home and fell asleep within ten minutes. It was a beautiful ceremony. My niece gave a beautiful vow and the groom cried. My nephew gave an insightful speech without any notes. The evening was A1 all the way.

I just dropped our beloved black cat Poe off at the vet because he'd been intermittently having trouble in the pissoir department over the weekend, and that can become a life-threatening situation if it goes to total blockage.  It's likely either crystals in the urine, which is a dietary issue, (and that would be complicated because he's already on a renal diet) or a bladder infection, the preferred diagnosis because that just requires antibiotics.  The doc is busy in surgery this morning, but he's being monitored till she can see him this afternoon.

Actually, I don't really. ::) I've been recording the episodes for my friend Margo because she doesn't have cable, so I've seen bits of things, but not very much.  I've watched movies that Michael has projected and that's a lot of fun.  Also, Margo isn't friends with Michael and Heather (although they kind of know who each other are), so I drove Margo so she wouldn't have to show up not knowing very many people.

But I enjoyed watching the episode, so who knows.

We've talked about it before, but where is the director of Mr. Tveit?  Is there any director?  Closing your eyes like that when you sing is the most selfish thing you can do as a performer - it's not about the character it's about YOU excluding the audience.  Terrible.

Here's High Time.  This is from the main title tune, which you can hear on You Tube.

High Time

When all your worries and woes surround you
And grind up and ground you
Don’t sit and stare and seethe
Just take a breath and breathe
When all your troubles and cares just blind you
Then put them behind you
It’s high time that you did, so don’t delay

When you’re mood’s goin’ down
Pick it up, and then go and paint the town
And then when life starts cramping your style
You just say, “Sorry, I can’t be bothered”
And you simply start to smile

And then you don’t let it all defeat you
‘Cause it’s time to treat you
To all life has to give, it’s high time that you live
It’s time to wake up and start ignoring
The humdrum and boring
So grab life by the throat
High time that you’re a winner
And so be a winner today

When your sun doesn’t shine
You can shine, and the sun might take the hint
And if the bad just turns into worse
Just say, “I’ve had it with bad”
And put the whole megillah in reverse

And then you don’t let it all defeat you
‘Cause it’s time to treat you
To all life has to give, it’s high time that you live
It’s time to wake up and start ignoring
The humdrum and boring
So grab life by the throat
High time that you’re a winner
And so be a winner today.

Nice! :D

Yes, nice :)

Oh, and if anyone doesn't want to search for it, here's a YouTube link to the music:

Time to plan another party!

Monday morning greetings!  Well, apparently I forgot to log out - again.  Sorry...

You know it's no big deal?  I never log off.

I never do, either.

I don't either.  I think your name only appears if you have the site open.

Right.  You weren't showing up as "here" during those times, DR Ginny.

And I don't log off either, I just close the tab or the whole browser when I'm done, and trust that I'm gone.

OK, I'll stop worrying about looking like I'm sitting here like so much fish, not participating...

TOD

I don't watch TV. And the only show I pay attention to anymore is A Place to Call Home.

I'm back to BBC mysteries.  I cannot get enough of Vera, Midsomer Murders, or Grantchester

Do you watch Father Brown?

Occasionally.  I don't like the program without Lady Felicia and Sid.

I do miss them, especially Lady Felicia's screams.  I think Sid would do well with her niece, alas he is only returning for one episode this season.

I don't know if this has been posted before, but I came across THIS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nn_kGQdoq8) almost 13 minute clip of the original cast of The Most Happy Fella performing a couple of songs on "The Ed Sullivan Show"! :D And Susan Johnson's in it, too!

For my meal o' the day I made two hamburgers right here on low-cal buns and they were really good.  Entire caloric intake for the two was around 850 calories, so if I go jog now that will drop me down to about 600 for the day and I can have something fun for a snack in a little bit.  But for now - time to jog.

Thanks, DR Ginny.  Three years from retirement.  If it was just me that would be one thing but five of us.  All of sudden we can't do our jobs?  What they didn't count on was us banding together and seeing a lawyer as a class action suit.  Our lawyer said we are smart and have a very good case.

I know.  We think it was planned.  They kept talking in meetings about how the younger groups don't stay at a job for many years and bla bla.  That's ok.  One thing we do know-the County doesn't go to court because of the costs.  They prefer to settle out of court so we will see what happens.
