I was having a weird dream that fragged me out of bed.  My mind was running through the guitar part of the overture for How To Succeed but I was seeing TV host Wendy Williams! What the hell?

Thatch keeps running up to Annabelle and throwing his front paws around her neck.  She ignores him and walks away.  He trots after her.

Wendy Williams for a couple of years taped her tv show at the old studio that ABC built for DARK SHADOWS....I think she moved this year, though.

I just had the nicest surprise:  Annabelle in the window watching for birds, and little Thatch was sitting next to her.  He's finally able to hump up onto the radiator to get to the window sill.

T.O.D.

Since I don't go to movie theaters any longer, I haven't seen many 2017 releases.  Certainly nothing Oscar worthy.

I saw PATRIOT'S DAY and THE HERO

That's about it.

DR ELMORE I watch Wendy now and then when other shows are repeats......she does NOT hesitate to take ALL celebrities to task for their hypocrisy and foibles.....  Her audience is even more rabid than that for The View or Ellen, but she corrals them fairly well when they get unruly.....

I think the Hallmark Chanel film that DR Jane watched last night was produced by my friend Sam Irvin.  He does a lot of those.

Around 1982, Sam wisely turned me down to write a film score because I had no sound studio experience.  That sent me to work with Ben Bagley as a copyist and orchestrator so I could hang out at recording sessions.

Monday afternoon greetings!  I've been to the nearby Presbyterian church for Middletown Current Events Club's annual Christmas luncheon.  Our entertainment was Purple Pizazz, the Middletown High School show choir.  They did their Christmas show and one number from this season's competition show, which has a "reality TV" theme.  They're very cute and energetic.

I went shopping for a microwave since I was given a Best Buy gift card.  I wandered around that store at Lincoln Center forever, and not one clerk asked me if I needed help.  When I realized I would get no help, I could have stolen one easily and walked out with it.  I was so pissed about the wasted time in that store that I went home and bought it online.  I will never shop there again.

I had the same experience at the Men's Wearhouse here in town.  I went there because it is the only store in this backwater town that sells dress shirts with a French cuff.  There were more clerks than customers in the store, yet not one person came over to offer assistance.  The shirts in my size were too high up for me to reach in my chair, but no one wanted the sale.   I assume that it was either my wheelchair or the way I was dressed that kept the clerks from recognizing my existence.   I left and I swear that I will never shop there again.

That's terrible!  But before you totally give up on them, send them an e-mail.  You might be surprised how much you can get in coupons and deals when they try to rectify the situation.  Couldn't hurt.  And if you're still not satisfied, you still don't have to go back.  Just a thought.

I just had a miserable experience at Best Buy.

They need to train their people better.

Maybe it is extra holiday help.  We are usually pleased with the staff.

Yup. Mens Warehouse sucks.

I called to check on Thatch's prescription, and I was told it was ready! Things you learn. I'm glad I called back.

I'm off to 72nd Street.

Been reading a book of chefs reminiscing about Christmas and holiday dinners. One mentioned a savory New England parsnip pie. No recipe, but I want it. Now.

Did banking, had lunch, got packages.  Done for this day, although I don't seem to be able to book an appointment at the DMV until January - maybe something was wonky with their site.

As I mentioned, a couple of weeks ago we had 30,000 radio plays on This Christmas, the song I wrote that Sandy Bainum sings.  This after being told that original songs don't track and only standards work - I thought it was nonsense when he said it then and it obviously is.  THIS week we just got the report about last week - 63,000 plays.  I'd say that puts that BS to rest, and we should have put it to rest when they told us the same thing about Sandy's all me album.  We should have absolutely promoted the shit out of that CD.

I am home from vet and market.  Thatch knows I've got the salve and he's avoiding me.  I have to wait till he nods or his back is turned to grab him and apply the medicine to his eyes.

TCB, are you expected to be home for your inspection? That's much too long a window. A guilt trip can be quite effective: "I was going you'd come early because I need to go pick up my pain meds."

We aren't required to attend our inspection, but I don't like people here when I'm not and I need to show them all the damage. The landlady will have a coronary, believe me. she'll probably blame the tenants for the leaks in the roof.

I remember the days when everyone listened to the radio and payola was a big thing, but I wasn't aware that this still went on. I guess that's the radio business. Is it particular stations? Sirius radio? Would someone fill me in, please?

I've always had to book 2-3 weeks in advance for an appointment. It does save time, though.

Medicine vibes for DK Thatch!

Thanks, DR TCB!  I deliberately stayed home from City Center today just to pick up the prescription, so the whole situation is irritating.  Even if Dr Mohr is sick, she could still check her emails.

If Dr Mohr has what I had on Friday she may have been too ill to even check emails. Believe me, it was nasty. I'd like to think the office is organized to pick up the slack in her absence.

Concert was fun. Good singers, great band. Trouble is, I knew not a single song they sang. I had heard someone, maybe Justin Timberlake, did a song called Cry Me a River, but I’d never heard it before. Only the Julie London version.

Watched two screeners tonight - one I kind of enjoyed and one was a bit of an Oscar bait slog - horribly directed, at least for me, but with a good central performance.

I've never heard of making an appointment at the Washington DMV.  I've always just gone down there.  At least now their website shows an estimated wait time.  That's kinda cool.
