Well, you've read the notes, the notes were quiet and lovely, and now it is time for you to post until the quietly lovely cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PERVIOUS!
-
It was nice to see Elan, Noel, and Ron back here at haineshisway.com.
-
First post after BK!
-
Good night.
-
We will be leaving the hotel shortly and taki g a car to the cruise ship.
-
First post after Jane!
-
;)

Last night, I met my friend David and his wife for a visit. We were going to meet at a bar downtown, but when we got there, it was closed...and evidently not just for the night. :-\
-
We decided to go to McMenamin's The Spar instead, so we got into our cars and went. It turned out to be just around the block, but it was cold, so we didn't care. We chatted and had a little food...literally. I had the mini-cheeseburger. ;) We chatted some more, then we left. They had the drive up to Seattle, and I only had to drive back to Tumwater. I'm home and ready to go to bed.
-
Today is my family's weekly dinner, so that'll be fun. After that, my mom and sister are going to a concert by the Olympia Choral Society (http://www.olympiachoral.org). That sounds fun, so I'm going to go with them.
-
And that will be my day.
Have a good day, all!

TOD:
the casts of HELLO DOLLY and GROUNDHOG DAY on Broadway
the performance of my gifted friend Lew and his wonderful co-stars in MORNING'S AT SEVEN off-Broadway
On TV, the lovely performance of Meghan Markle in the series SUITS must be noted, since she'll be leaving the series soon (to become British royalty)
On video, I watched SCROOGE again, a fun tradition, so renewed cheers for our own TCB's fabulous title performance
While I saw DEAR EVAN HANSEN in 2016, so many people think of it as a 2017 show, so renewed hurrahs and bravos for Ben Platt, our neighbor Rachel Bay Jones and the rest of this glorious cast, in this very risky show where all the artistic risks paid off.

Looking forward to the snow - sort of.

Looking forward to the snow - sort of.
Spoken like man without a driveway

;)
-
The snow was supposed the begin "after midnight". Then "4 am"...nothing yet
-
I am glad that BK had such a lovely birthday
-
Hope your book signing today will be fun
-
In other news Vixdad also had fish and chips yesterday
-
I myself do not understand going to a steak restaurant and ordering fish , but he was happy so I was happy
-
It's Saturday, what am I doing up at this hour?
-
We have unpacked and are relaxing in the cigar room waiting for the bar to open.
-
I am only able to post as Keith kindly set up my tablet with the ships wifi.
-
Hopefully the ships WiFi will continue to work . There are often problems when we cruise. If I disappear you will know why.
-
Bruce I enjoyed the notes and the photo, wish I could have a taste of the mud pie too. Will there be a photo of the art work?
-
T.O.D.
Since I don't go to the movies any longer, I've really not seen any amazing performances yet.
Sam Elliott was quite good in a film (THE HER0), but it was a small picture and probably won't get any Oscar attention.
The few movies that have come out thus far this year that interest me (e.g. DUNKIRK, THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING MO., etc.) are not available on Redbox yet.
-
Good morning.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Last night, DR TCB posted:
I remember when I was in my early twenties, I didn’t think I would ever live to see 30.
I felt the same, and I remain surprised that I have lived as long as I have. I can only hope it's to amuse my friends, confound my enemies, and remember the dead and their stories.
-
The kitties are fed, the bed is made, and the litter box needs tackling before I can seriously vacuum this apartment. I got a nice email from my choreographer-veterinarian friend Mike with suggestions on making the eye treatments less terrifying for Thatch.

Page 2 Dance!
-
Good morning, all.

The snow was supposed the begin "after midnight". Then "4 am"...nothing yet
Then it was 9 am, and nothing yet. Talk about sweet seductive promises certain to be broken...
-
Looking forward to the snow - sort of.
Spoken like man without a driveway
SERIOUSLY. :)

Annabelle changed beds three times last night. When I turned off the lights, she was in her bathroom tub; when I got up around 2:30, she was in her heated bed; and when I got out of bed this morning, she was in her covered bed. Thatch seems to prefer sleeping in the cat tree.
-
A leisurely birthday dinner at a nice restaurant in Santa Monica with Nick and Julie sounds like the most perfect thing.
-
Well, I think the epidural was really beneficial. Yesterday, I wasn't sure. I was in a great deal of pain where the injections occurred, and I was really tired. I slept last night with no leg pains at all, and I feel my walking is going better today as well. I hope this optimism continues.

There are some nights I’ve got two cats pressed into my sides in bed all night, and others when I don’t have the slightest idea where they sleep.
-
I need more coffee before I tackle the litter. A stiff drink would b good, too. Those two kitties are turning into eating-pooping machines.
-
Good morning to all

Kitties are little factories running three shifts 365 days a year.

LOL!
Yep.
-
First snowflakes, damn it to hell.
-
Apparently, yesterday's snowfall was the biggest they've had in Austin since 1985.
-
Continued health vibes for DR ELMORE.
Cruising vibes for DR JANE & Keith.
-
Nice photo in the notes - and nice to read about MR BK's day.
-
Saturday morning greetings! I’ll be E &T throughout midday, because we going on a train ride with great-nephew J, his parents, his maternal grandmother, and his godparents (Rob and Mary Linda). Oh, and Santa Claus! This outing is J’s part of second birthday present from us. He turned 2 on May 2...
-
We got about an Austin sized snow last night, but it should be gone by this afternoon. I am planning to attend my first theatre board meeting since LAST March tomorrow....I am looking forward to it.
-
Saturday.
-
Thatch, fearing the worst, has gone into hiding, and it's in none of his usual haunts. Annabelle is still pissed at me for this morning's syringe of something bitter. I have become a pariah to my kitties.
-
Thatch came out of hiding and his eyes are closed shut. I do not think this Erythromycin is doing a goddamned thing for him.
-
I stepped out to post a letter. The snow looks great and it put me into a Christmas-y mood. Walking is a bit of a pain, only it's a different pain now.

So great to see you getting back into the swing of things on the theatre board!

I hope the suggestions make a difference.

Good afternoon, all.
-
I slept about 9.5 hours. Sinfully wonderful.
-
This morning I went and picked out a painting. I’d commissioned one a few years back from a friend I had worked with st the Census Bureau. She was down on her luck and I thought she had forgotten about it. Nope. She emailed a few weeks back and I went to pick it out today. It’s like a Dr. Seuss version of San Antonio’s River Walk. It’s huge, too. Three feet by four feet.
-
Now I have to get ready to go help serve a barbecue dinner to the homeless.
-
Then a Christmas party.
-
And church at 7:30 am.
-
Three!
-
I captured Thatch after a rousing game of fishie on a pole lured him out of hiding. I held him, petted him for a long time, which he seemed to like, then took him into the bathroom and cleaned the gunk from his eyes with a wet cotton ball. I wish I had some baby saline eye wash.
Then I petted him some more, put the salve on his eyes, and rubbed them gently for a bit. Before I released him, I held him, petted him, rubbed his little belly, and let him go. He ran for the food. I think eating consoles him.
-
He's getting braver. Last night, just before I turned off the lights, he climbed up on my computer table, where he's seen Annabelle holding court daily, sniffed about it before he jumped down. This morning, both of them climbed onto my work table, played with my various pencils and erasers, and wrote some orchestration that I had to revise later, before they went on to the window to watch the birds and the snow.
-
DR JRand67, I saw this and thought of you!
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe six hours of sleep - I woke up at five with an upset tummy, so just played on the computer for a couple of hours while it settled down.
-
DR JRand67, I saw this and thought of you!
That brings to mind seeing Elvis Presley in CLAMBAKE (on a double feature with WITH SIX YOU GET EGGROLL)
-
Good afternoon.
-
I know what I am taking for the potluck dinner tonight! Fiesta Peach Spam Bake!
-
My produce box for this week had 16 yellow squashes. So I made a big cheesy casserole. That will go nicely with the spam.
-
Our train ride with Santa was a lot of fun. He and J (age 2 1/2) had a very serious conversation. We even had our first significant snowfall to create just the right atmosphere.
-
Thanks DR FJL. I have been doing some preliminary 2018 work on the website and moving forward as if I'm going to be around....if not forever.....at least for another year! HAA!
-
I am feeling a bit upsetty myself.....although it has nothing to do with the delicious morsel DR ELMORE published....it also didn't help much...
I am sure I will feel much better in the morning.
-
DR LAURA let us know how the SPAM goes over at the do!
-
DR GINNY I am glad you had a good time - but being trapped on a train with children and Santa Claus is my idea of a NIGHTMARE!
-
I put the artwork and preliminary info on our VIVA MAX! reading through Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) on my blog. Hoping people from here can come if in NY area, and/or please let people know who might be interested (and of course feel free to share the link). (Admission is free, but TRU requires reservations.).

VIVA MAX! - Staged Reading at:
The Actor’s Temple Theatre
339 West 47th Street (between 8th & 9th)
Monday, January 15, 2018 at 7 p.m.
Remember the Alamo? Max will make sure you never forget it! In this new musical comedy-adventure, a young, idealistic Mexican General seeks respect for himself and Mexico by marching his soldiers into Texas in an against-all-odds quest to reclaim the Alamo. The show is based on Jim Lehrer's rollicking satiric novel set 50 years ago, but the story remains current and passionate on 21st-century matters like immigration, gun control, and respect for foreign people and their cultures.

Hello, everyone.
-
I went to acupuncture today, then came home and did some laundry. Exciting, I know.
-
The skies here are much clearer today, but the air is still extremely dry. I haven't seen an update on the fires today, but we really NEED more humidity.
-
Best of luck with VIVA MAX!, Fred.
-
Thanks DR FJL. I have been doing some preliminary 2018 work on the website and moving forward as if I'm going to be around....if not forever.....at least for another year! HAA!
I think that's a good way to think about it. We never really know, anyway.

I hope you do. The stomach bug that's going around is nasty.

TTFN.

DR GINNY I am glad you had a good time - but being trapped on a train with children and Santa Claus is my idea of a NIGHTMARE!
LOL, DR JRand! Under normal circumstances it would be mine, too. Today our party of 8 was all adults except J and we were at the end of our car, kind of away from other groups with more kids. We hadn’t done this train ride since Rob was a Tiger Cub. It’s a fun thing to do every 25 years or so...
-
That sounds about right DR GINNY.
That sounds like FUN DR FJL.....if I win this Powerball tonight, I might be able to come.
Greetings DR JEANNE!
-
Yes I think I would like see a photo of said painting, too, DR JOHN G

Thanks for the VIVA MAX! encouragement!

Back from the signing and then a meal. Not one person I knew showed up - how lovely was that? But despite that, we sold more books than I would have thought possible, I met some nice folks, and the best was this mom and her 19-year old daughter, who've been calling the store all week to make sure I was there. The girl is an aspiring writer who's taking creative writing in college and wanted to interview me. So I did that for the first forty minutes and it was really fun and we laughed and laughed and just when we thought we could laugh no more we laughed again. My favorite thing was when mom wanted a photo of us together - I kept my arms stiffly at my side and then said, "In today's world this is how you have to take a photo." She then put her arm around my waist and I hers, we took the photo, and then I told her, "Now, go on Facebook and say hashtag me, too. It was really quite amusing.
-
Had dinner at the Hamlet - burger, salad, and egg custard lulu.
-
I hope to be able to come to Viva Max , I guess it will depend on the weather trends. (At rush hour its not always possible to get into Manahattn from Long Island in by 7 when you get out of work at 5:30)Do you know how late you can make reservations?
-
Glad it was a successful reading ...I imagine a lot of people already have commitments for Saturday's during the weeks leading up to the holidays
-
Vixdad and I went to a local auto after market fitting store and arranged for my Christmas present... An auto start for the van
-
It's to be installed on Tuesday
-
Then we went to several stores in search of a requested Krus Kringle gift which fdoesnt appear to actually exist
-
Then we went to the Apple Store and bought anew charger for my IPad . The other day I used Vixdad's and my IPad charged right up
-
Then we went to California Pizza Kitchen. I can't remember the last time we were there
-
We went for our old favorites, Vixdad the Caribean Jerk Chicken pizza and I the Thai Chicken pizza
-
Then I suddenly realized it was 4 pm and I hadn't been to church to set up the altar for the 5 pm service. So we ran up there and I got that do was and then we popped home for tea and phone calls
-
I had a nice chat with my Mom who is still in California. Tonight is her cousins 85t h birthday party
-
Then we chatted with Vixdad's sister for over an hour
-
The. We had a nice chat with his folks
-
Oh and I went to the dentist this morning
-
I called the dentist yesterday to see if I could get a weekend or evening appointment and was told that they were booked for weekends through June and for evenings through May
-
I asked to be called if there was a cancellation, and got eh call in less than 24 hours
-
So I had my check up and cleaning... Pleased to report A-OK
-
I hope someone else pops in soon to post I think the sheer excitement contained in my posts might be too much for some
-
Vixdad just realized we never checked the mailbox..George, thank you so much fur all the DVDs!!!
-
Fred, I would be in NYC for Viva Max if I could, but that’s not even a week after the surgery. Bummer.
-
Good night, all.
-
Good evening.

Great photo in the notes, BK.

Another cold night in Tacoma.
-
It remained foggy all day today.
-
I went to the store, among other errands.
-
My major purchase was twine.
-
One more post.
-
Page 5
-
Page 5? Finally!
-
Christmas Eve is two weeks from tomorrow.
-
Began a movie very late, but I'm enjoying it sort of so I may just stay up and finish it after I write the notes.
-
My friend, Ken is, hopefully, coming over on Monday to help me decorate my balcony.
-
That was the reason I needed to buy the twine today.
-
Having those decorations up will help put me in the holiday spirit.
-
Even though I can’t really see them from inside the apartment, knowing they are up maes me happy.
-
That is until I get the electric bill in January.
-
That isn’t really true.
-
It is the electric heat that really jacks up the bill.
-
But I don’t care. I refuse to be cold.
-
I have given up a lot of things, but I refuse to freeze.
-
I am playing Christmas music.
-
So far, it isn’t helping.
-
My sister wants a Fitbit for Christmas. Damn, they aren’t cheap.
-
I hope George is enjoying his family dinner and concert.
-
George, thank you so much for the DVDs.
-
Trying to decide if I should go hunting for the Christmas lights - for this house it's really easy to set them up and plug in - maybe Grant will help. I've also decided to keep the Christmas Do a little smaller this year - I'm not up for having thirty people here - so maybe fifteen tops.
