Last night, I met my friend David and his wife for a visit. We were going to meet at a bar downtown, but when we got there, it was closed...and evidently not just for the night. $:-\$

We decided to go to McMenamin's The Spar instead, so we got into our cars and went. It turned out to be just around the block, but it was cold, so we didn't care. We chatted and had a little food...literally. I had the mini-cheeseburger.

We chatted some more, then we left. They had the drive up to Seattle, and I only had to drive back to Tumwater. I'm home and ready to go to bed.

Today is my family's weekly dinner, so that'll be fun. After that, my mom and sister are going to a concert by the Olympia Choral Society. That sounds fun, so I'm going to go with them.

the performance of my gifted friend Lew and his wonderful co-stars in MORNING'S AT SEVEN off-Broadway

On TV, the lovely performance of Meghan Markle in the series SUITS must be noted, since she'll be leaving the series soon (to become British royalty)

On video, I watched SCROOGE again, a fun tradition, so renewed cheers for our own TCB's fabulous title performance

While I saw DEAR EVAN HANSEN in 2016, so many people think of it as a 2017 show, so renewed hurrahs and bravos for Ben Platt, our neighbor Rachel Bay Jones and the rest of this glorious cast, in this very risky show where all the artistic risks paid off.

Since I don't go to the movies any longer, I've really not seen any amazing performances yet.

Sam Elliott was quite good in a film (THE HER0), but it was a small picture and probably won't get any Oscar attention.

The few movies that have come out thus far this year that interest me (e.g. DUNKIRK, THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING MO., etc.) are not available on Redbox yet.

I felt the same, and I remain surprised that I have lived as long as I have. I can only hope it's to amuse my friends, confound my enemies, and remember the dead and their stories.
