Well, you've read the notes, the notes were filled with late-night horse manure, and now it is time for you to post until the late-night cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RUBRIC!
-
Good morning to all
-
Yikes BK!
Sorry to hear what's going with you and your shows. I hope everything works out!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Things seem to be a pile of crap for everyone at the moment. If it weren't for my commitment to two cats, I'd call it quits and jump off the roof. No, I am not happy these days.
-
DR TCB, did we have the same appointment yesterday? I got my flu shot and a prescription to have my shingles vaccination with my pharmacy. I didn't have to deal with a urine test.
-
DR Ginny, I hope the trip is fun. Enjoy.
-
Tuesday morning greetings! It’s a beautiful day for a drive - first stop, White House, Tennessee. It’s just an overnight to break up the trip to Memphis. We don’t like long driving days.
-
Thanks for the travel vibes, DRs ChasSmith, John G, George, KevinH, and Elmore.
-
Good morning, all.
-
The horse manure BK describes is just bizarre. That’s worse than any of it we know in my little corner of the world. I won’t go so far as to think it’s totally exclusive to LA, as people are idiots everywhere, but it sure does seem like a common thread there.
-
And yes, a lot of things are piles of crap these days.
-
I must soon get myself out of this recliner and get on with preparing to play tonight’s dress rehearsal of “Addams”.
-

It is shocking.
-
Funny story TCB regarding the urine test.
-
I believe 60 is the age for the shingles vaccination. We had planned to get the first of the 2 new vaccinations when we returned from our trip. For obvious reasons they were postponed.
I know a number of people who got sick with flu like symptoms after the 2nd dose and am hesitant to get vaccinated while I am doing PT.
-
TOD:
Piano is my favorite.
I would say the trumpet is my least favorite.
-
Well 2 months after I broke my elbow I FINALLY have my 1st PT appointment. I hope I am pleasantly surprised with their methods and the results.
-
PT vibes for DR JANE.
-
I am horrified by the notes.....
-
Yesterday I got my port removed. I was awake during the entire procedure and could feel every cut and suture.....I was talking and they asked me if it hurt....and I said a little bit....it was very strange.
Then we I got home I somehow disconnected my internet....tried to hook it back up.
I called to get an appt. and the man on the phone said they would bring me a new modem....since mine was so old.
Earlier this morning, the internet came back! But I kept the appt. The tech doesn't even recognize my modem as one from COMCAST it is so old....he is going to give me a new one.
He is checking all the wiring, etc.....so we will see what happens.
-
No more crap vibes for MR BK and DR ELMORE....
Have fun tonight DR CHAS SMITH.
-
Thank you, sir, and I think you will very much enjoy having the modem upgraded and wiring checked, maybe a connection will be replaced, things tightened up, etc. We seem to have reason to get that done here every few years. and it's always a good thing.
-
Good morning, all.
-
The meetings keep piling up.
-
Vibes for us all.
-
The weird vibes continue and I am home from City Center. Joshie seemed to be in a strange mood as well.
Those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad.

A message for today.
-
Let’s move on
-
Two!
-
Thinking over this, I know we have these same commitment problems...to the point of seriously discouraging a couple of really fine directors.
However, at least in my experience, we get every scenario in the book EXCEPT the one in which they're taking another gig. My guess is that this is because the Los Angeles people have stars in their eyes, and see each new opportunity as the one that's going to lead to their BIG BREAK.
-
I want my big break!
-
The new BIG wireless modem looks like something out of Dr. Frankenstein's lab.....but it is SECURE and is working nicely.
The technician was very nice and answered all my questions and did all that was required and more....so hurray for me.
-
We have a Venus retrograde in Scorpio which is causing chaos for many of us. Full moon in Taurus tomorrow will bring a bit of a stabilizing influence, but do NOT be hasty in your dealings with others....let everything that is happening now be a learning experience....keep a list so that no one can disappoint you twice.
Over the next two weeks a new project or revival of one thought long gone could bring you renewed energy and excitement.
-

I agree! I don't recall anything like that happening here in the Olympia area, at least, not in any show that I've been involved in. :-\

Thanks George. You should have a key chain in your mailbox today.
-
DR Jrand what did they give you for the procedure?
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Thanks George. You should have a key chain in your mailbox today.
Coincidentally, I had a dream about being in a store that had lots of keychains. I started looking for one for DR George. I think the dream ended before I found one.

Yes, I think people's expectations are higher here. In my own experience, success is usually more a matter of two or three breaks, rather than one big one. But the expectation, of course, is stardom after just one.

Actually, it arrived last night, Jane! Thanks so much! Even Neve likes it. ;)

Weird! I don't think I've ever dreamed about keychains.

I have been playing Navigate the Healthcare Maze today. My acupuncture benefits for the year--18 visits--will be up soon. There's a provision for granting additional visits, based on medical necessity. I thought my acupuncturist had to initiate the process and asked her to do so. She made calls to both my HMO and the organization that they use to handle acupuncture claims, only to be told that I have to initiate the claim.
I spent 52 minutes on the phone today with my HMO, most of which was on hold while the rep tried to call my medical group--Cedars Sinai--which had the rep on hold. But I don't receive acupuncture from Cedars, so I have no idea why they have to speak to them. I again explained that Cedars doesn't seem to have any knowledge of my HMO's acupuncture benefits, at which point the rep said my acupuncturist should initiate this! Gawd! Who designs these systems and don't they pay attention to what's working and what isn't?
I don't have much knowledge of medical systems in other countries, but I have to believe there are better models. There is sooo much inefficiency in ours!

Now, on to other tasks!
Have a good day, everyone.
TTFN.
-
thanks, George.
-
BK, do you think the person who told you they had to miss actual performances just found that out?
-
~~~Healthcare Coping Vibes for Jeanne!!~~~
Vibes from here, too.
-
Listening to music - music rehearsal begins at three and is slated to go to seven-thirty - they booked this in ninety-minute slots, which, save for one performer who has a lot of material, is too much time. Yesterday we finished an hour early. So I asked if we could tighten up the two people who won't need ninety minutes, but I fear it was too late to do anything about it. I really wanted the entire evening to myself, but alas...
We spend a lot of time looking for them until we pick one to buy, then we try not to look in case we find one we like better. This trip I tried to find one in Greenland as well as the one we found in Iceland. Greenland would have been a cool place to have a keychain from. No keychains at all.
I have a facebook friend in England who needed a hip replacement. After a couple of years and going through hoops she got it. Now the process is being repeated to get the second hip done.
That’s the idea, DR Jane...
This afternoon we had our yearly fire alarm test. George & TCB are your building required to do this? Every unit in our building needs to be tested, which means multiple times per unit the alarm is set off. Every unit can hear this alarm.
I took my hearing aids out and covered my ears (not an easy fit to do with my right arm to my right ear) and Keith put cotton balls in his ears ;D
-
I need sleep. I’m exhausted.
-
I didn't sleep much last night.
-
One of our performers got stuck in Thousand Oaks so she won't be here for music rehearsal. Apparently there was some plane crash that shut down the freeway - so she'll have to be rescheduled for next week, which of course is a problem for me with our Kritzerland rehearsals.
-
One of the three problems from last night has at least been solved - the gal who wanted to go to Monaco and miss the third week of performances, has thought about it after seeing our reaction, and will not go to Monaco. So that one's done.
So she hadn't had her travel tickets yet! That's great.
Hello!
I visited my mother’s cousin this afternoon. She uses a cane but seems to be in pretty good shape for 89.
Later, sister Kate, her husband and our niece met for dinner. We had a nice time.
What pleased me most about my therapist today is that he immediately addressed the issue of my scar tissue. I have been saying the tight skin and pain in the incision is why I can't bend my elbow more. He took one look at it and said he had to take care of it before we did anything else.
-
He did 3 different types of method to relax the scar tissue and my tight skin around it, and they each increased my movement a little.
The first method was what he called doing an Indian Burn. Do you remember that "playful" way to inflict pain without damage? I do.
-
The second method was a type of massage.
-
The 3rd method left me with 3 bruises in the shape of rings. If you are familiar with the circles on Michael Phelps back when he swims than you have seen the results of the Cup treatment.
-
Good evening.
BK, I linked the "Pink Fish" on your Youtube channel sung by Andy Taylor in the comments in the Times when they talked about bagels.
there's a great Alan Menken song about lox from his pre-Disney days: (Menken's own lyrics sometimes had a sharp comic edge, though we think of his most famous work as always cheery!)
"They brought me Pink Fish on a big stale doughnut..." sung by Andy Taylor
Jack I am amazed tHat you were awake for your port removal
I just need enough so I can go to work tomorrow and get fired
I've never heard of that happening at my place. I know that we have alarms outside the buildings, but I'm sure that the owners are responsible for any inside alarms. But as far as I know, nothing is required and there's no inside-specific testing.
When the doctor removed mine in January, I could have ripped him so hard that he'd have needed his own port. I don't remember pain like that except for one of the worst kidney stones.
Watching the rest of Raisin in the Sun tonight. Powerful performances. Just heartbreaking.
-
Jane, I'm glad to hear about your therapy session.
-
Finished Margaret Atwood's MaddAddam earlier. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I realized it was a sequel to Oryx and Crake, which I read (and which I have an autographed copy of), but I didn't realize there was another volume in between, called The Year of the Flood. I may have to search that one out.
-
I neglected to get this one in the Criterion flash sale. It's next on my list.
As for the Addams Family dress rehearsal tonight...
oh my god...
Isn't it incredible -- I mean, it's fascinating -- how you can experience a work as put together by one group, and then travel a few miles down the road and see it put together by another ... and it's like the second group never even got the memo. Or read the headlines.
But, oh well. It's nice that people like me can make a quick buck by stepping in and providing a service. I do not complain. No, sir.
-
Let's move on
-
Five!
-
And on and on it goes. Now another actress is dropping out because she says she didn't know the commitment was for rehearsals every night. Never mind that it stated that clearly on her audition sheet, never mind that she agreed to it if we'd work out her ongoing two-nights a week work conflict - we bent over backwards to do exactly that, changing our off-night to her work night, and starting earlier on her second work night so she could leave and get to her job. But when you do that, then that door just keeps getting pushed and pushed and pushed. I'm sure if Doug went to her and said why throw away all the work you've done - tell us what the issues are NOW that you didn't tell us THEN, I'm sure she'd say she has to miss four or five more rehearsals and I'm walking away from this if that's the only way we continue. But if we have to find someone new that means I've got to do a bunch of work all over again and lose even more time. It's completely infuriating - and since they've asked me to direct a show there next year in this slot, I will not even consider it unless every actor I cast signs a paper saying with the exception of listed conflicts they will not have any other conflicts and will be committed to the show from beginning to end. I so don't want to even go to the theater tomorrow because now I have to most likely replace this actress, still find another actress, and potentially replace a performer who can't remember two words of one line or lyric - that decision will be made on Friday, but replacing three people means I'm gonna lost two days of run-throughs.
-
So fingers crossed....
Fingers crossed.
Yup. At least this time when I said it was starting to burn he eased up. It is also done with a wide elastic band.
The fog has finally lifted in the Tacoma area.
Last night, it was so thick, I couldn’t see the cars in the parking lot.
Of course, since the fog is gone, it means that the rain is returning.
Just sprinkles today, but a bigger storm is due on Thursday.
Thanks George. You should have a key chain in your mailbox today.
Coincidentally, I had a dream about being in a store that had lots of keychains. I started looking for one for DR George. I think the dream ended before I found one.
How ironic, George has now opened a keychain store to sell off his excess bounty.
I need to go and clean the litter box.
I have returned.
Nick is a bit miffed with me tonight.
Good night, Tom.
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
Well, I need to go to bed now. For the rest of the week, I have to get to work earlier than usual, so I need to get to sleep earlier than usual.
To quote Jane Curtain: "Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow." :)
