What pleased me most about my therapist today is that he immediately addressed the issue of my scar tissue.  I have been saying the tight skin and pain in the incision is why I can't bend my elbow more.  He took one look at it and said he had to take care of it before we did anything else.

He did 3 different types of method to relax the scar tissue and my tight skin around it, and they each increased my movement a little.

The first method was what he called doing an Indian Burn.  Do you remember that "playful" way to inflict pain without damage?  I do.

The second method was a type of massage.

The 3rd method left me with 3 bruises in the shape of rings.  If you are familiar with the circles on Michael Phelps back when he swims than you have seen the results of the Cup treatment.

BK, I linked the "Pink Fish" on your Youtube channel sung by Andy Taylor in the comments in the Times when they talked about bagels.

there's a great Alan Menken song about lox from his pre-Disney days:  (Menken's own lyrics sometimes had a sharp comic edge, though we think of his most famous work as always cheery!)

This afternoon we had our yearly fire alarm test.  George & TCB are your building required to do this?  Every unit in our building needs to be tested, which means multiple times per unit the alarm is set off.  Every unit can hear this alarm.

I took my hearing aids out and covered my ears (not an easy fit to do with my right arm to my right ear) and Keith put cotton balls in his ears ;D

I've never heard of that happening at my place.  I know that we have alarms outside the buildings, but I'm sure that the owners are responsible for any inside alarms.  But as far as I know, nothing is required and there's no inside-specific testing.

One of the three problems from last night has at least been solved - the gal who wanted to go to Monaco and miss the third week of performances, has thought about it after seeing our reaction, and will not go to Monaco.  So that one's done.

Good for her! ;)

And now, I'm off to my sister's.  We're going to go through our local ballot and discuss things.  Then I'll fill out mine when I get home.

Be back later...AND DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!! :D

When the doctor removed mine in January, I could have ripped him so hard that he'd have needed his own port. I don't remember pain like that except for one of the worst kidney stones.

Finished Margaret Atwood's MaddAddam earlier. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I realized it was a sequel to Oryx and Crake, which I read (and which I have an autographed copy of), but I didn't realize there was another volume in between, called The Year of the Flood. I may have to search that one out.

I neglected to get this one in the Criterion flash sale. It's next on my list.

As for the Addams Family dress rehearsal tonight...

oh   my   god...

Isn't it incredible -- I mean, it's fascinating -- how you can experience a work as put together by one group, and then travel a few miles down the road and see it put together by another ... and it's like the second group never even got the memo. Or read the headlines.

But, oh well. It's nice that people like me can make a quick buck by stepping in and providing a service. I do not complain. No, sir.
