Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a first paragraph about annoying things, and now it is time for you to post until the annoying cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MINION!
-
First post after BK!
-
And the word of the day is: MINION!
I've never seen any of the Minion movies. ::)
;)

George, did Annette Benning say that the Captain Marvel’s character’s name is Danvers? Isn’t that the last name of Supergirl?

I've never watched Supergirl, but Captain Marvel's "real" name is Carol Danvers.
-
Interesting. You're right, Tom. I just looked up Supergirl (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4016454/?ref_=nv_sr_1) on IMDb and her "real" name is Kara Danvers.
-
I would assume that that's deliberate.
-
Except that Supergirl is from the DC world and Captain Marvel is, of course, from Marvel. :-\

I am afraid I don’t know the difference.

Good night, George.

Contracts. The differences are the contracts. ;)
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Well, I need to get to sleep, too.
Good night, and have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!

DR TCB, I think Love, Simon was the only film I saw in a theatre last year. I think I saw it with goddaughter Charlotte. I enjoyed it, but you are right: it was no groundbreaker. It was fun, and the cast was really good.
-
Last night, Annabelle and I watched half of the film of Black Beauty from the 1990s, with Alan Cummings as the voice of Black Beauty. Annabelle really got into the scenes of the horses romping around the pasture, and she watched it quite intently. The cast was good - Eleanor Bron, Alun Armstrong, Jim Carter, Sean Bean - but after an hour, I began to get bored. Some of the scenes were so dark that I had no idea what was going on, I could not get the volume to a good audible level, and I decided I would rather read Anna Sewell's book. I think I will stop at Barnes and Noble on my way to the orchestra reading this morning and see if I can buy a copy of the book.
-
This morning, Annabelle ate most of her chicken and liver, but Thatch nibbled and turned away. I'll leave the remaining cans in the laundry room for any of the other cat owners in the building.
-
Good morning!
-
I think BK should start calling "the helper" "My minion" instead
-
I wish I had a minion
-
Not one of those yellow cartoon things
-
I want one of those 24 hour minions that live to do my bidding
-
I would assign them various nefarious tasks
-
Like cleaning the house and doing the laundry
-
Good morning, all.

I found the movie sweet. And perhaps that was what was so groundbreaking for others. It treated its subject as normally as possible. Sad.
-
Good morning, all.
-
It’s a dead tired kind of morning.
Fortunately, it’s also my one day without a rehearsal or show, just an informal birthday dinner to go out for this evening which will be relaxing and enjoyable.
Starting tomorrow, though, nine straight days of commuting to Poughkeepsie and Dolly!
-
Good morning!

Good morning.

I'm up for the time being - nauseous a little. Will go back to bed shortly. But I awoke to an e-mail that The Cardinal is ready to ship - they did it really fast for them, so that was a rather humungous wire transfer to make, and I also have to pay the whopping pressing bill for our five-title release today - it make me even more nauseous to put out money like that all in one day, but everything will be current
-
I think we might watch an episode or two of THE RIVER. I thought it was the 2012 show and just noticed there is a different show with the same title from 2017. I think this might be the correct show. I need to ask Keith.
-
Bruce I hope you feel better when you wake up again.
-
I'll feel better if we get some orders in :)
-
The Cardinal!!! Looking forward to this!
-
New Book Girl vibes for MR BK.
Current cash flow vibes for MR BK.
-
DR CHAS SMITH I thought Dolly was in Yonkers!
-
Yes....GOTHAM and THE ORVILLE had good episodes last night.
THE ORVILLE is tense to be sure.....I like the show a lot.....and yes DR VIXMOM starting at the beginning might be a good idea. And it does get better as it goes along.
But then I like Seth McFarlane a LOT.....we have similar senses of humor I would think....or so it seems. He also released a couple of nice CD's.....

Friday morning greetings! Remember on Tuesday I had to scramble to get something ready for overnight mailing in order to meet a Wednesday deadline? Well, Thursday afternoon the recipient notified me that it had not arrived, even though the tracking said it had been expected at noon on Wednesday. This morning I went to the post office - twice - and did get back the $25.60 I'd spent on overnight postage, but that still doesn't get the original job done and I'm extremely frustrated. This is a process that we should be doing electronically anyway, but the organization is not operating in the 21st century. That's why I quit their board more than 10 years ago.

I understand your frustration DR GINNY.....

DR VIXMOM and her masterpiece....

-
Thanks DR Jrand. The photo, painting, and DR Vixmom look even lovelier here :)
-
I am pleased to find out that we will be watching the 2017 3 episode mystery vs the 2012 8 episode supernatural show.
Did anyone watch the 3 episode mystery THE RIVER?
-
This headline made me laugh "Jussie Smollett Removed From Final ‘Empire’ Season 5 Episodes Following Arrest".
DUH, of course he was.

My AAUW branch may not be eligible for state communications awards this year.
And now I have to break the news to our wonderful president...
-
I am very sorry Ginny.
-
I hope it is received today and they cut you some slack.
-
Since no one actually told me what the show was about I completely missed the correct one. The River had two different shows but I want only River. This is what we will be watching. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4258440/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
-
Unlike the other two shows it has nothing to do with a river, just happens to be the guys name ;D

DR CHAS SMITH I thought Dolly was in Yonkers!
She moved, DR Jrand68. But had she stayed in Yonkers, my drive really wouldn't be any shorter.

I'm up again after another ninety minutes of sleep.

DR Laura are you well enough to hike in the snow? How far from you is it?
-
Well, the powers that be agreed to let me submit our entries electronically, which is how it should have been set up all along. I’ve done what I can...
-
Best of luck, Ginny.

Great pix, Mom of Vix.

Good afternoon.

Jane, there is snow not far north of town. We could see it on the mountains when I took my daughter to work this morning. That's all I need of it. I don't do snow.
-
I am cooking down the rest of the tomatoes from last week's vegetable box. I assume we will get more tomorrow.

Oh! Vixdad and k watched that awhile ago, the British cop show, right? Very good show but it is mportant to actually watch it don't be doing something else at the same time
-
...and the recipient just notified me that the envelope was delivered at 3pm today - only 51 hours late. But she says they’ll consider us on time.
The USPS certainly didn’t make any money on this transaction.
-
Alexa had a wonderful time working with Bruce and Alby yesterday. She found BK a great coach, said she gained much "insight" and it was invaluable for her in every way. I'll try to post a pic from after the session.
It was a COLD afternoon. We've had little a bit of SNOW around parts of LA, really crazy weather, but nothing compared to Arizona and Nevada which has had real flurries. Sun's out now and hopefully warming up a bit. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
-
What a weird day, mostly due to an unsettling message on my cell phone - I think it may be phishing but not sure really. And I'm not returning the call, that much I know.
-

When we moved east we loved when it snowed now I prefer a view of the mountains covered in snow while we are dry.

There are a lot of new scams out there MR BK.....don't return the call.
-
DR VIXMOM you are welcome.

I found Season One of Downton Abbey at the Goodwill for $2.99.....I remember I liked that season....
-
I am listening to Paul Peterson sing.

I NEVER return phone calls, even from numbers that I recognize. If they don't leave a message asking me to call back (or to just leave a message), then I feel like they don't need me to call back. And, accidental wrong numbers won't be called back, either.

Excellent and I am glad it was received so there is no doubt that you did send it ahead of the deadline.

Hello, everyone.
-
Yes, it has been VERY cold here lately. While driving east today I could see snow--lots of it--on the mountains. Would those be the San Gabriel Mountains? Does anyone know? The Santa Monica Mountains do NOT have snow.
-
Jane, I tried RIVER a few years ago and just couldn't get into it. A slow first episode perhaps, or maybe just my mood that evening. vixmom's words may make me want to try it again.
-
I am home from a good but very long day. Joshie and our cohorts had a good time, but we have a concertmistress whom I've known for nearly years I could happily live without.
-
I learned today that my neighbor's car was broken into a few nights ago and some items stolen. Her parking space is right next to mine. The guy on the other side of me had left his car unlocked by mistake and a couple low-value items were taken from his car that same night. This is frightening. There's no question that cars often get vandalized while parked on the street -- it happened to me twice -- but not in our little carport.
I NEVER leave anything of value in my car where it can be seen, but, of course, that is no guarantee.
-
Nice photo, Vixmom. Were you all painting the same subject matter and was it a photo?
-
DR Ginny, I hope you have a satisfying resolution to this problem. Yes, annoying.
-

Last week I received a call from a number I didn't recognize. Often people I need to speak to call from other numbers, so I answer those calls. A male voice I didn't recognize asked, "Did someone call me?" "Not me." Call you? I don't even know who you are! He thanked me and hung up. Did my number find it's way into his phone? I still don't know how this happened. I didn't think I'd even made a call that day.
If I don't leave a message I don't expect a call back. And I don't leave a message if I know I won't be available to take the call.
-

Thanks for your input. I will keep that in mind when we watch the first episode. My brother is always looking for new, to him, mysteries/detective shows to watch so I was glad to pass this one along to him.

That is very disconcerting. The fact nothing of value was visible might be why your car was left alone.

I also wondered if it was a photo. I know that is how people paint their pets in these classes.

That's terrible! Fortunately, I've never had my car broken into. It's been keyed, but not broken into. A couple of friends have had their cars broken into, and one had VERY valuable (to him) vocal scores and music stolen. He's a music and voice teacher, so it basically was all his teaching material. :-\

I don't know why I didn't think to Google the phone number immediately - I just did, total scam, both the number that actually called my phone and the 866 number they referred me to. Whew! These people are such jerks and it's a shame that these scam rings can't be busted with everyone involved arrested.

DR Ginny, the postal service is shit these days. The last priority mail I sent on a Friday was supposed to be delivered on the following Monday to a San Francisco address. It arrived on a Monday two weeks later.

Yes, she keeps a lot of stuff in her car, in plain sight. It's just too tempting, I'm afraid.

Weekend vibes to all.

DR Laura. My friend took a photo of this carpet in the Reunification Palace in Vietnam.
-
We saw the outside of the building but never had a chance to go inside.
-
I actually don't want to block it just yet - I want to give them a taste of their own next time they call, and boy will I. I am seething about it, actually, because I actually fell for it even though it didn't feel right to me. The same thing the first time over a decade ago when I got one of those scam IRS calls. I want to actually end these people's lives :)

Vixdad received several phone calls on his cell the other day claiming to be from social security.
New scam, guess "your windows are broken" was getting old
-
Nice photo, Vixmom. Were you all painting the same subject matter and was it a photo?
It's a painting class. There is a sample painting and then the teacher paints it along with us giving step by step instructions.
I've done it about a dozen times now over the past 2 years and find it very relaxing
-

Ethel Ennis died. She was 86. RIP.
-
So I decided to do something I haven't done in more than 30 years
-
Grow a damn big stye in my left eye
-
I'm doing a really good job of it too considering how out of practice I am
-
By tomorrow I should look really lovely
-
DAMMIT
-
Did I mention I binge watched Six Feet Under over the past couple of weeks?
-
I somehow missed it completely when it originally aired
-
We may not have had Showtime then, or maybe it just conflicted with something else we watched

Anyway, yesterday before paint nite I went to the wake of a former coworker's Mom
-
And this particular funeral home is a converted old Victorian .

I kept expecting David Fisher to pop up

That may not help, when Vixdad got the calls ( he tells me there were 9 over the course of the work day) they were all from different numbers
-
We watched an episode of Victoria and an episode from season one of Enterprise.
-
Well ye olde IPad is diwn to 11% battery power so if I disappear you will know the cause
-
Goodnight
-
I did call the 866 number knowing that I'd get a machine. Let us just say that the message I left was not for sensitive ears and contained some language I'd describe as cherce. But I'll also wait to see if they call again - and then I'll really unleash.

I received three calls from the Department of Social Security Administration today telling me that my SS # had been suspended because of some suspicious activity.
-
The number was 1-888-548-2019 for one phone call and the same exact message twice from 1-800-772-1212

Ethel Ennis died. She was 86. RIP.
I've never heard of her. :-\ I looked her up on YouTube and the first video that came up was My Foolish Heart (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jW9X7kHGoho). Very nice!

And they can fake the caller ID number. I've gotten several scam calls from numbers that have the same area code and prefix as my own number, and they've all been scams. :P

Just about 6:00 p.m. I started feeling a little crappy. From there I have gone straight downhill.

I have managed to stay awake to watch 20/20, but I am now finished for the night. Sorry.

This headline made me laugh "Jussie Smollett Removed From Final ‘Empire’ Season 5 Episodes Following Arrest".
DUH, of course he was.
Whatever happened to ”innocent until proven guilty”?
It isn't looking very good for him right now.

What a weird day, mostly due to an unsettling message on my cell phone - I think it may be phishing but not sure really. And I'm not returning the call, that much I know.
Vixdad received several phone calls on his cell the other day claiming to be from social security.
New scam, guess "your windows are broken" was getting old
I received three calls from the Department of Social Security Administration today telling me that my SS # had been suspended because of some suspicious activity.
I wish these people had to pay for their crimes.
