Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a bash and a smash, and now it is time for you to post until the smashed, bashed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: IMPETUS!
-
'night
-
First post after Jane!
-
Today is going to be a long day for me. At work, I need to finish my monthly invoicing for the month, and work with one of my staff on writing out her specific job duties (our whole department is looking at ways to become more efficient), and then I have some orders that have been sitting around for a bit too long ( ::) ).
-
And then tonight after work, I have the first of two rescheduled rehearsals for the also rescheduled reading of a new musical where I am now playing a new role because the actor originally cast in that role wasn't available on the rescheduled performance date. Then I get to come home. Whew!
-
But first...sleep.
Have a good day, all!
-
I just received a friend request from someone named - Guy Haines.
-
Funny.
-
Did you accept ;)
-
Good morning, all!
-
I must do the laundry I did not do yesterday. That should take up most of the morning.
-
I've not heard from Joshie, so I will not be going into City Center this morning.
-
Good morning
-
Must get ready for work
-
T.O.D.
Glenn Close was robbed!
Is she going to become the female Peter O'Toole?
-
Good morning!
-
Good morning, all.
-
It was strange but rather nice, not seeing even a moment (which, I am given to understand, is what it only takes) of the Oscars, and just reading the running commentary here. Later, or maybe even tomorrow, I will look for the highlights and enjoy them as the fuss is beginning to die down.
-
DR JohnG, I sent Hudson Talbott a letter of inquiry.
-
About the tea bag?
-
DR CHAS SMITH the Costume Design presentation by Melissa McCarthy and Brian ?? was also very funny.
Tina Faye, Amy Poehler, and Maya Rudolf were also funny at the very beginning....reminding everyone that they were there, but that they were NOT hosting....
Barbra Streisand talking about BlackkkKlansman also had some good things to say.
-
Was Julie Adams in the internet list? I lost the link....but I think I can find it.....
-
I do want to see Blackkklansman, If Beale Street Could Talk, and The Favourite now....
-
My favorite part of the Oscars was being here with those in the know here at HHW!
.....and Melissa McCarthy.....
-
Good morning.
-
I guess the biggest surprise was Glenn Close not winning....
The only thing I didn't like was Spike Lee's completely unorganized thoughts that he couldn't even read off a piece of paper.....and his suit was ugly.
-
Monday morning greetings! Well, we didn't blow away yesterday, but there were times we thought we would. The high wind warning expired overnight and now it's beautifully sunny.
-
Thank you for letting me sit in on the Oscar bash, even though I didn't contribute much. We're not seeing movies like we used to. We usually wait until we can get the DVDs from the library.
-
It is snowing here.
-
The snow has already turned to rain.
-
Good afternoon.
-
As I have done in the past several years or so I DVR the show and FF through most of it and stopped at the awards that interested me. I think I got through the show in 90 minutes.
Have to admit that I was surprised that Glenn Close did not win as all the predictors said she was a lock.
As for the Best Film, many said it would be ROMA but I never thought they would win because they wouldn't want to give it two Best Picture awards.
-
As for me one of my plays has moved forward into semi-finals competition for a theater in CA. Can't say more until mid-March.
Another 10-minute play is in talks to adapt to a short film as a thesis project.
Continuing to work on my play that has an Academy Award plot point.
The Marvin Hamlisch show has confirmed bookings in 2020.
Working at my salary job to live and writing during other free are keeping me busy.
-
Good news DR MICHAEL.
-
Yes DR GINNY - my trash can kept wanting to walk off the deck....I had to bring it back from the steps three times.....
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
If you don’t hear from Hudson, let me know, Elmore.
-
I do want to see Blackkklansman, If Beale Street Could Talk, and The Favourite now....
I want to see all three of those, also!

TOD
Favorite: Spike’s win. (I liked his purple suit, JRand. It was a nice tribute to Prince, whose music is used as the closing of Blackkklansman.”)

I'd read that his suit was supposed to be a tribute to Prince. ::)
;)
-
TOD:
Worst: The stories already calling Green Book the new Forrest Gump or Crash, among the worst best pictures in history. That includes Spike Lee’s response.
-

What John said! ;D
-
The worst part 2:
The president’s irrational response to Spike Lee’s surprisingly restrained speech.
-
Went to the library book cellar today. Picked up a Zola novel, a Ross Macdonald, a Seamus Heaney play and a disc of Sting acting as Schmann, all for $2.
-
Ah I feel much better about Spike's suit now.....I see!!! Thanks to DR JOHN G and DR GEORGE.....
-
I'm up, I'm up - about eight and a half hours of sleep, but only an hour until our rehearsal begins.

At the theater next door, the Symphony Pops is doing Alan Silvestri’s score for Back to the Future. Someone drove up with his DeLorean. We all went over to check out the car.
-
I went to the large supermarket on Columbus Ave now that the one near me has closed. Thanks to traffic and the damned taxi increase, it cost me $10 to get home. I guess in future I will shop there only at 8:00am on Sunday mornings.
-
I do not know what Alexa was thinking when she added "Sustainer has always enjoyed" to my Costco shopping list.
-
DR Laura you need to post more so I can look at your avatar.
-
Too long ago, I put my paper cutter in a safe place where the cats could not injure themselves. Now that I need it I cannot find the damned thing.

When the movie originally played in theaters, the Lacey (Washington) cinemas had the record for the movie playing the longest at any one theater, a whole year! If I remember correctly, the DeLorean that was used in the movie was brought here to celebrate.

Found it!

My friend sent his grocery list in to Kroger for delivery. He asked for 1 lb. of carrots.....and he was sent a carrot that weighed 1 lb.

Same here but I can tell you where it was, two or three or more houses ago.

:D Oh my.
-
What does a 1 pound carrot look like?
-
I definitely think that it was completely shocking that Glenn Close did not win. I was so sad for her. Her performance was so good!
I am getting A Star is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody from the library tomorrow. So I will watch both this week.
I personally did not enjoy the show without a host. IMO it desperately needs a host. I love the singing, the jokes, the skits. And I definitely missed that so much. The only good part was that it made the show go much faster. But there were so many awards that I could have easily done without seeing on the show. The recipients were so boring and many were completely awkward.

I want to see the first and last.

it made me think of that silly "One-Ton Tomato" to the tune of ""Guantanamera"
-
Michael - that's such a wonderful schedule. Congrats!
-
Lordy, I am TIRED. Two back-to-back rehearsal. More about them later, but may I just say page THREE? Really?
-
A three-and-a-half hour period with no posts??? Not tonight, Josephine.
-
Watching a French mystery called Panique. Michel Simon as Monsieur Hire. Excellent stuff.
-
Had an amazingly intensive dancing lesson tonight.
-
I don't know if my body will be able to take it.
-
And I don't have time to soak tonight.
-
I should be able to sleep easily.
-
Spring has definitely hit San Antonio.
-
But the acupuncture has helped with the allergies, so far.
-
The mountain laurel trees are in full bloom. Their flowers are a gorgeous purple. Reminds me of the Alice Walker quote about God getting pissed off if you pass the color purple in a field and don't notice it.
-
The aroma is quite wonderful, too. It reminds me of grape Kool-Aid.
-
There's an amazing staging of a lynch mob in this movie. Really fierce.
-
Hi, Vixmom.
-
Can you help drive up the post count?
-
At least get us on the way to page four?
-
Cranberries!
-
Underpants!
-
Page three? Really?
-
I read that somewhere before.
-
We had a few under the weather people here today, so I'm shoving all my preventatives down my mouth.
-
Had Taco Bell for dinner. Had only had a Kind bar all day and was starving but I didn't over do it.
-
This movie just took a turn for the weird. The hero died.
-
And a tenor started singing about love, love and love.
-
Those Frenchies.
-
Four!
-
I should be going to bed. But I may watch one of the extras.
-
Good night, all.
-
The wind is fierce out there
-
Lights keep flashing and internet keeps getting interuppted
-
of course it's affecting cable too so gave up on tv tonight
-

They sound beautiful.
-
I am falling asleep.
-
Page four? REALLY?
-
Good evening.
-
A very chilly night in the Pacific Northwest.
-
It is going to be down in the 20's.
-
We should be over this cold weather by now.
-
We have had late snow storms, even into April in the past, but normally we are starting to move into Spring by now.
-
They say it will be cold every night this week.
-
Today I went and saw two condos.
-
Today I went and saw two condos.
Any potential?
-
Hi, Tom.
-
I liked one and hated the other.
-
How many have you seen now?
-
Tracy didn't the one I liked, but she really liked the one I hated.
-
Oh well.
-
I guess I will just keep looking.
-
Tracy didn't the one I liked, but she really liked the one I hated.
That's too bad...for Tracy. ;)
-
Tonight, I had a rehearsal for the reading on Sunday of a new show.
-
It's called The Alphabet Caper (or The Alpha Bet Caper).
-
Tonight, I had a rehearsal for the reading on Sunday of a new show.
How is your new role?
-
One of the writers of Cinder Edna that I was in last year co-wrote this.

I have two solos!

They're short, but very different from each other.

In one song, I have to spell "An-t-i-d-i-s-e-s-t-a-b-l-i-s-h-m-e-n-t-a-r-i-a-n-i-s-m."
-
:o
-
The other song is in a humorous Gregorian chant-type style and I have to spell "E-U-O-U-A-E."
-
I think that it's the longest word spelled only with vowels.
-
Yup...in the Wikipedia listing (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euouae), it says:
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, at six letters long, "Euouae" is the longest word in the English language made up of nothing but vowels (the v spelling notwithstanding), and also the English word with the most consecutive vowels.
-
MOST fortunately, I don't have to memorize any of this show.
-
I do need to learn everything, and certainly become very familiar with the material, but we'll all have scripts in front of us.
-
WHEW!! :D
-
WHEW!! :D
That's a relief.
-
Even saying the letters in the first word is tough.
-
Of course, I have trouble with T-O-M.
-
Even saying the letters in the first word is tough.
I know! Fortunately (also), the melodies are simple enough and easy to sight-read.
-
I hope I spelled that correctly.
-
Do you like the show?
-
I am typing on my old iPad.
-
I plugged in my new one before I left today, but I guess I didn't plug it in correctly, because it still reads 10%.
-
Well, time to take my cold medicine and go to sleep.
