Well, you've read the notes, the notes were late-night notes, and now it is time for you to post until the late-night cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BRAINCHILD!
-
Kimmel, when you put red sauce on pasta, is it store-bought or homemade?
-
Tom, the group sang mostly songs from Hamilton, but also one song each from Rent and Spamilot and Waitress.

And people paid money to see this?
-
Are all of the cast members from Seattle?
-
The theater was completely sold out...actually, only 5 seats weren't sold! The performers all sang well enough, but they just sang random songs from Hamilton. There wasn't really a point to the evening, other than to either give the performers some work, or to let people hear songs from Hamilton without paying the high prices, or who knows. It was just a concert (nothing wrong with that) with no point. :-\

Yup. All tickets were only $22+$3 service fee. So, not very expensive.
-
Are all of the cast members from Seattle?
I think most were. There were only five singers, and not all of them put in their bios where they were from (one guy said that he was new), but the group started in Seattle.
-
And what was cool, they bring on stage a local school choir from the town where they're performing, and that group gets to sing a song. The choir that sang tonight sang a song from Hamilton and they were pretty good. The soloists sang ALL the lyrics and didn't make any mistakes!
-
I didn't think to look it up until now, but here's their website: https://www.riseup.band (https://www.riseup.band)
-
There were a LOT of students in the audience, and the group encouraged singing along throughout the evening...just not for everything, of course.
-
I am glad you (and the audience) enjoyed the evening.
-
Margo was ushering, so after the show, we went to Red Robin. I ate too much. ::)
-
So, how are my boys and their fuzzy kids today?
-
And you can catch it again in two weeks in Tacoma.
-
I am glad you (and the audience) enjoyed the evening.
I did enjoy it. I just didn't love it. Actually, neither did Margo, and she loves the show (or at least, the original cast recording).
-
And you can catch it again in two weeks in Tacoma.
I saw that on their website...and Seattle at the end of May.
-
So, how are my boys and their fuzzy kids today?
Hi, jan. I'm tuckered out from a long day at the theater, and my fuzzy kid laying down at the foot of my bed anddoing well. :)
How are you doing?
-
Hello? Tom? George? Bueller?
-
Hi, again.
-
Now, it is good night, HB.
-
Good night, George.
-
Doing well, bored to tears, want to take a trip somewhere but I don't know where and no one to go with.
-
And good night to both of you from Nick.
-
Now, it is good night, HB.
Who, or what, is HB? :-\
-
And good night to both of you from Nick.
Good night, Nick. 8)

It's short for HBIC or head bitch in charge AKA me!

Good night, George, and give Neve a cuddle from me.

It's short for HBIC or head bitch in charge AKA me!
Dopey me! I didn't make the connection to your previous post. ::) Thanks for the clarification, jan!
-
Good night, George, and give Neve a cuddle from me.
Thanks, jan! She loved the cuddle!
-
Oh, look! It's Page Two!
-
jan, I only do my famous home-brewed sauce at the Christmas Eve Do - for my occasional red sauce needs I use Prego and doctor it up a bit.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Running late as usual.
-
And I just discovered that I'm due to summarize three chapters in the latest Trollope Society read in two days and I haven't started the book.
-
Thankfully, I have read it before.
-
BK,
I just caught this in your blog this morning. I guess you really were tired.
"Last night, I watched the first half of a French motion picture from France...."
True, it could have been a French motion picture for Spain or Italy, but....
At least, it proves that I read your blog.
;)
-
Had a nice lunch yesterday with my son and his lady.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Sunday Sweet Sunday.
-
At 10 a.m. I will watch the tennis finals from somewhere in Europe....I forget which city the clay tournament is in this week....
-
I like to watch my tennis live rather than on tape......
-
Dead tired, but in a good way.
The kitties even let me sleep in this morning. A rare treat.
-
Cool weather today....windows are closed.
-
Answering BK’s question, I sampled the first piece and listened to the entire Cradle Hymn. Both are lovely. Judging by a glance through the comments, that feeling would seem to be unanimous among listeners.
-
Cool weather today....windows are closed.
Same here, and the heat’s on. Looks like we’re in for a few days of it.
-
Due to my schedule and activities these past few days, this feels like a Saturday morning. I believe an adjustment is called for.
-
Good morning.

Good morning from the piano bench at Our Lady Of Angels in Burlingame, California

Have a nice time in Burlingame.

Hello
-
Former DR Ann posted a picture on FB the other day of her using a portable stepper machine
-
She also posted the Amazon link..
.
-
It arrived today
-
It has been put togther (by me)
-
Ihave done 90 reps so far
-
Dang I'm out of shapye
-
Good afternoon.
-
By 4:00 pm yesterday afternoon, I felt so poor and my eyes so ached that I took two Tylenol, one Tylenol PM and went to bed. It was a godawful night. I got up at 6:30, fed the cats, and went back to bed. Around 10. I got up, took a very long, very hot bath, and went back to bed. As soon as I clean the litter, I'm going back to bed.

Maybe you don't because perhaps some dear reader would like to inform ol' Druxy that I've been doing that line for about, I don't know, fourteen YEARS? :)
-
I'm up, I'm up - barely - about seven hours of sleep.
-
I do believe we have crossed fitty and are perhaps closer to sixty, in terms of the orders the former helper never bothered to ship. I have not sent him the e-mail I drafted a couple of weeks ago, when we'd crossed twenty. I think it's time, don't you? And frankly, I see no end in sight for this BS.

Today I did something I rarely do, I stopped reading a book. I was reading "At the Wolf's Table" a fictional novel of the women who were food tasters for Hitler.
Instead I have been reading interviews with Margot Wölk the women the main character in the book is based on. (https://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/hitler-food-taster-margot-woelk-speaks-about-her-memories-a-892097.html)

Have a nice time in Burlingame.
Kinda there all the time, it’s where I work.
-
:) I should have put a wink after my comment.
-
Sunday afternoon greetings! Sorry to have been E & T lately.
-
Last night was watching the very funny Canadian show CORNER GAS we were taken back by their pronunciation of the word decal. If we had not been looking at a decal we would not have known what a deck-al was ;D
Today we learned Canadians are mispronouncing the word as decal is short for Decalcomania, pronounced "Dee-cal-comania", suggesting the proper short form pronunciation is "Dee-cal", not "Deckle". ;) ;D

When I last posted, I was on my way to be a guest at a book club and I had a delightful time. However, I got home to the news that one of AAUW friends had died earlier that afternoon. She'd been bravely battling cancer and had attended our April meeting just 2 weeks before. Didn't feel very chatty that evening.
-
Then on Wednesday I had to get myself in high gear to ready our house to host my regular book group on Thursday evening. This was a pinch-hit on my part because the originally-scheduled hostess is dealing with a hospitalized husband. It sounds like he's pretty sick.
-
We had a perfect-sized group - 8 - here to discuss Michelle Obama's book, which I liked quite a lot.
-
The past 2 days have been pretty low key and very quiet around here. We're still adjusting to having the house to ourselves. It's odd not to have the kids around.

:( I am sorry for the loss of your friend. It was nice though that she did make it to the meeting for one last time.

I wonder when the slimeball in the White House will start doing that.

I kind of enjoy this TV ad for TAKL with Kathie Lee Gifford.
The voice she's dueting with seems to be someone who doesn't appear in the ad. But it's an interesting effect.

I watched a Gay Nineties Revue on ROKU.....featuring an old vaudeville performer named Joe Howard, a singing quartet, and Sophie Tucker type singer, an opera singer, a dancer.....and the Arnaut Brothers and Nellie - whose act must be seen to be believed....
I found a link on YouTube... the show ran on ABC from August, 1948 to mid 1949.

Back from the Monica of Santa, being helpful (Nick's widow and ever-lovin' Julie has asked me to represent his collection o' stuff, which I'll either parse out to dealers or perhaps to an auction house), and then lunch. He has a most amazing Sam Peckinpah archive - signed stuff, scripts, letters, telegrams, production files on all the major films - that's the biggie and I've already written one dealer who would kill to have it but who I don't love dealing with as he tries too hard to talk down the price he's willing to pay, which I'm not interested in at all - simply not going to allow him to get it all cheap to only watch him make ten times what he paid, which is exactly what would happen. I'll know right away if I want to even discuss with him by his response to the e-mail. I also e-mailed the Profiles in History auction house, since Nick and I were both fond of those folks.
-
He didn't have much theater-related stuff - the rarest of which is an original Carrie poster from the London production starring Barbara Cook, in mint condition. I've put a query up in the window card group on Facebook. If anyone here is interested, private message me - I'm trying to get a value on it.

I keep reading about adults possibly needing booster measles vaccinations if.....https://www.yahoo.com/news/u-measles-outbreak-raises-questions-immunity-adults-144506034--finance.html
I just went over my adult children's records & they look like they are fine even though they are in the age bracket for this. I just wish Keith could remember if he has had measles.
-
We have had a beautiful sunny day here. Of course we took a very nice walk. We circled Fort Vancouver, Pearson Airfield, at the fort, and walked around the beautiful officers row. Mt. Hood made a perfect backdrop for the little airport with all the planes flying in and out today.
We then walked over to downtown Vancouver & the growers market, then back to the river.
Almost 5 miles in 2.25 hours, not too fast of a walk.
-
Good evening.
-
Jane, you could always ask the doctor or pharmacist about a booster shot.
I had one around 1996, when there was a single case at our elementary school. The school nurse (who was a friend of mine) said every child and adult had to provide proof of vaccination to enter the campus. I was a volunteer at the school, so I got one right away.
-
My legs hurt
-
That is all
-
Those who've read the Kritzer books know that I definitely had the measles.
-
Heard from Triton Gallery, so have a good idea what the London Carrie window card is worth - he thinks eBay is the way to go, but I'd reather sell it to someone who really wants it and save all those fees.
-
We lunched at California Pizza Kitchen - had a really cute and funny waitress. We shared some spinach artichoke dip, and I had a Caesar salad with chicken - all very good.
-
Listening to music now, but will soon choose audio samples for our two upcoming releases, and start on those liner notes.
-
Good to hear Nick’s stuff is being cared for in this way.

Thanks. I had measles as a child. I don't suppose I could prove that without a blood test. I just wanted to confirm our kids had two shots vs one. The news stories say adults their age might not have had even one MMR and only one vaccination that was the wrong kind. I confirmed they had two vaccinations, the second being the MMR. I don't know if the first one is the better type. I will ask Bryan.
I really not as concerned about Bryan in the ER. I just hope all of Craig's students have been vaccinated.
-
Those who've read the Kritzer books know that I definitely had the measles.
;D
Keith thinks he had the measles.

I don't need to ask Bryan, my kids are good.
I really just posted the link in case anyone else wanted to read the details for vaccinations prior to 1989.

I guess our best hope for the collectible things that mean a lot to us while we're around at least wind up with someone who wants it enough to pay something for it. For the most part, I think I'd rather have something that was important to me burned in a furnace like "Rosebud" rather than end up in the collection of someone who never wanted it or gives it a thought. So it sounds hopeful that a lot of Nick;s stuff will wind up with people who actually want the things, at least for a generation or two.

I don't know if I ever had a measles vaccination. My mother could never remember. I supposedly had measles or mumps as an infant and a vaccine possibly for the other, but she couldn't remember the details.
About 28 or so years ago, I was covering a community college in upstate New York that had a measles outbreak. The campus was quarantined and long before SKype, they let me sit in on a meeting by phone because it wasn't known if I ever had measles or the vaccine.

From an obit in today's San Antonio paper:
-- -- -- of San Antonio Texas, age 92, passed away peacefully April 23, 2019.
She left behind a hell of a lot of stuff to her daughters, who have no idea what to do with it.
Somehow, they will deal; that 35 year in the making garage sale hasn’t happened yet.
She was renowned for her know it all, lack of patience, quick dry wit, take no prisoners, tell it like it is. We love her deeply and will miss her as a true force of nature. Her heart was big, and she would do anything for her family whom she loved so much.

Exceptionally long day today. After church, it was dance practice for 2 hours, touring an open house with Joy and asking questions for her about the house, an afternoon at the Symphony with Fiesta Pops, then Bible study.
-
Now watching a charming Brokenwood Mystery about a tontine. The bodies keep piling up.
-
Sounds like a really busy day, John.
-
Starting the last Brokenwood Mystery. I shall be sad to see this season end.
-
But I think I need to get to bed.
-
But first ...
-
Five!
-
Good night, Jan.
-
Good night, all.
-
Good evening - the weekend is over - as is Spring Break. Only 6 more weeks of school. So, that's great. But so much to do in that 6 weeks, it should make things go faster.
Trying to savor the last few hours before bed.
-
I'm up, I'm up - oh, wait... I tell you, I buckled down, Winsocki and I wrote two sets of liner notes AND the additional commentary. That's taken the past five hours. I did go to Gelson's and got some snacks for the evening. Back to 1000 calories tomorrow.

Good evening.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Hi, George.
-
The crane collapse in Seattle yesterday was a really terrible thing. Four deaths is tragic. However, our local TV stations have gone into overkill on the situation.
-
Yesterday afternoon, from around 3:30 pm all the news coverage was about the crane. They even preempted the national news broadcasts to stay on the story. But there was nothing else to cover. All of the important information was covered in the first hour. After that, it was just repeated over and over again.
-
Tonight, the 11:00 pm newscast was almost all about the crane, again. I am surprised that they even managed to squeeze the weather and sports into the program.

My niece has an incureable condition called hyperacusis (https://www.hear.com/hearing-loss/your-ears-and-your-health/hyperacusis/). Larry, her mother's boyfriend, posted this article on FB about an app where people can measure the sound in restaurants and rate them for other people who either have the condition, or who just want to go out to some place that's actually quiet. Here's the article about the app and the person who created it:
Restaurants are too freaking loud. This app helps you shame them. (https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2018/4/26/17275406/restaurant-noise-app)
