Did you finish act two?
A couple of the student actors were not up to it, but most of them were :)
Not ready to take on the world.
I just got a nice royalty payment from Concord Theatricals.
Today I must deal with the serious future of Babes In Toyland. The Institute will be calling at some point, and we will discuss why I am ready to jump ship. I will go further into that later.
Good news DR ELMORE. We're expecting a refund for Once Upon A Mattress which fell victim to Covid-19.
Vibes for DR CILLA LIZ to get her car repair work done. We of course need photographic evidence.
And that's a nice avatar!
Did you try this page DR CHAS SMITH?

What with the internet being what it is - maybe they had a bad experience......
Yesterday, I got a FedEx text message that a package was going to be delivered today, but when I clicked on the link which opens up their website in my browser, THAT page says that it's going to be delivered tomorrow. What gives?? I guess I'll find out when I find out...hopefully, sooner rather than later.

Off to work. Can I make it across the hall?

I saw and listened to the song last night on FB, and as I said there, what a wonderful surprise.
It's a perfect song video, BK. Seriously.
And the glasses look great. I'm jealous because I need a whole eye workup, and it ain't going to happen for a little while. I look forward to improving my vision, and to replacing these frames which have held two sets of lenses and are showing their age, at least to me.
White Kitty from across the street came to visit last night while I was watching the full moon.

But first....isn't it the case that wearing masks doesn't help the wearer it only helps protect others from the wearer? That's what they've said from the beginning. I think people have the idea they will be safe if they wear a mask, when it's my understanding your chances may go up if you aren't putting on and taking off your mask without touching your face or at least washing your hands first.
She has very GREEN eyes.

White Kitty from across the street came to visit last night while I was watching the full moon.THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE GLIMMER OF THE MOON
But we had nice clear skies until after midnight DR JANE.
There is supposed to be a BIG comet visible to the naked eye later this month......looking forward to it.
White Kitty from across the street came to visit last night while I was watching the full moon.THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE GLIMMER OF THE MOON
THAT ALWAYS PUTS TWO LOVING HEARTS IN TUNE,
AND THE LAD WHO FEARS TO SAY
THAT HE LOVES YOU IN THE DAY
IN THE MOONLIGHT IS INCLINED TO TELL YOU SOON.
SO TOGETHER IN THE MOONLIGHT STROLL ABOUT,
IT WILL SURELY PUT HIS BASHFULNESS TO ROUT.
ERE THE RAMBLE YOU COMPLETE,
YOU WILL FIND HIM AT YOUR FEET,
THAT IS HOW I THINK THE MOON WILL HELP YOU OUT.

All is good with Babes in Toyland for now. I am having issues about no workspace here for all the editing, but my supervising editor says not to worry about it for now.
Just got word my sister in Germany, Brigitte, has been admitted to the hospital with a lung problem. She had tb twice in the past and this is related. Her husband is not allowed to see her.

Today’s new skill: making a deposit using my iPad camera and my bank’s app.
I'm really glad I got talked into doing the song - the comments here and on Facebook are so beautiful - there've been twenty-two shares, something that's never happened before.

I finally remembered what I was going to comment on - a few days ago MR BK mentioned Quibi.....which seems like the most meta exercise yet.
And does anyone really think that if they watch a movie (or bits of it) on his phone that he has really seen the movie?
Before I go, computer audio vibes for DR Elmore!

Well, in unintentionally macabre turns of phrase, Dr. Fauci has said this is "a bad week for deaths."
So if you didn't die last week, you'd be better off not doing it this week.
Tonight is the MODERN FAMILY series finale.....two episodes preceded by an hour of history and other stuff.
I may watch it.....it almost always amuses me.
My nephew messaged me last night. He's doing Mortuary Disaster Relief for 10 days. He's assigned to Queens but didn't have any info on his duties as he had just arrived in NYC. I am so proud of him for being willing to do that. No one talks about the morticians and what a difficult time this is for them. They have not only the number of people to take care of, but also families who they have to tell they can't have the funeral they wanted for their loved ones. And COVID-19 is still contagious in people who have passed. It's got to be extremely stressful
JohnG - it's an interesting conundrum, certainly. If you saw what the original script was like you'd know how far we came in terms of making it even producible. If you think the first act is episodic now, it was much worse, as was the second act. I got rid of as much as I could, wrote new stuff, cleaned up the songs and arranging them, and was just determined to keep it all moving along. The show originally began with the Greenhorns section of Opportunity, with the two bad guys there. Then it went somewhere else, then finally to the ship. That was the biggest thing to get right and fix - I told them the first person I wanted to see in the show was Levi Strauss and everything had to go from there. I completely revised that entire section from start to finish. In the original script, Levi was never off the stage save for the Levi song. I added So Many Empty Rooms, which I wrote they lyric for and Richard wrote the music, because I needed to get him offstage for two-and-a-half minutes in act two. Glad you enjoyed and appreciated the comments.
Anyone with any questions, ask away - I love to talk about this stuff.
Brigitte has pneumonia, another sister has informed me.
Is anyone having a seder this year?

Your nephew is very admirable, especially when reading many funeral homes won't take the bodies. I hope your nephew is well protected. Where will he be staying and is it provided for him or does he pay the expense himself?
Stay well vibes for your nephew!

Carol Christmas was wonderful. Tightly written, constantly moving. The songs had full impact. The libretto just enough to support everything. And a great star, I can't remember her name. Like any good male Scrooge, she made you dislike aspects of her without hating her for being so greedy and selfish.
I think the piece of music you posted way back was a vocal sheet for “Opportunity”. Did Richard Sherman have a fully sketched out piano score for the whole show? I know Lanny orchestrated. Who composed incidental music?
Just finished watching Levi! I loved it! I don't mind a bio being episodic, as JohnG said a denim dance would have been fun. I could see that they were testing them with the tug of war, but it was really in the background. A manly denim dance would have been great. SPOILER ALERT.... I did feel a bit let down that the romances sort of just fizzled. I know not everything needs to be tied up with a bow, and if it's a bio, reality tends to get in the way a bit, but no one really ended up together...and \having Sara be the friend at the end didn't make sense to me. Couldn't the Chinese couple at least have gotten together? These weren't major things to me, but I did think about them. I did love the show and if it was somewhere near me would definitely go see it.

In fact, both romances were entirely made up by Larry. I understand why Levi couldn't end up with Sarah because Levi in real life never married, so there was no way to change that, and yes, it's not satisfying and we didn't really solve that and it does need to be addressed in some way. And I'm not sure the Chinese couple would get together because Su Lin simply doesn't feel love for Han Chow. It's a conundrum for the last ten minutes of the show, surely.
I just got a nice royalty payment from Concord Theatricals.
Congratulations!
Of course it's NO Neil Sedaka tune.....like this hit!

He's staying at a residence hotel, Hilton chain, can't think of the name it's in Long Island City and from the website it looks good. They are all in suites so they have little kitchens and room to relax a bit. The whole hotel is all mortuary and medical people in town to help out. They are providing full gear. He's being paid - I think extra - by his company. He will also be receiving full pay while he's in quarantine. He is being well taken care of financially and they have full protective gear. He is used to embalming people who have died from all sorts of causes, so he's used to the gear. His mom is worried about him, but I'm really not. He will be cautious and he really wants to do this

There's a cat that looks very similar to that that comes into my parents' house and eats their cat Henry's food. It's been happening for so long that Henry doesn't even try to chase it out anymore. ;)
Today I will make a pizza.

My guess, they had too many packages and delayed yours. If it doesn't say "out for delivery" the delivery date isn't a definite date.

Hartley Powers is Carol - and she was just Maggie in The Man Who Came to Dinner and was superb. And she's the author's daughter :) He hadn't even thought about her playing Carol. That was me and I insisted from day one that she do it. Glad you liked!

I remember the second dream quite well. DR TCB and I were acting in a Royal Shakespeare Company production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, along with my friends Sara Jean Ford and Peter Oberlink. The dream was all about the rehearsals and relationships of various actors. Sara baked some wonderful cookies at one point, and Peter didn't want anyone to know they were romantically attached.
In real life, they were never involved. Peter was one of my best friends in college and a folk singer, for whom I wrote "The Gonorrhea Rag" in 1971. The late puppeteer Wayland Flowers loved the song and urged me to come to New York and write for him. Sara Jean and I became friends in 2011 when she recorded some Victor Herbert songs for the Collected Dongs of Victor Herbert.
We are 12 days into self-isolation and it is really upsetting me to witness my wife standing at the living room window gazing aimlessly into space with tears running down her cheeks. It breaks my heart to see her like this. I have thought very hard about how I can cheer her up. I have even considered letting her in...but rules are rules.
