Well, you've read the notes, the notes were fried, tired, and riddled, and now it is time for you to post until the fried, tired, and riddled cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ARBOREAL!
-
George asked if I knew there was a musical version of Vanities - I did indeed and, in fact, saw it here at the Pasadena Playhouse. It was written by friend David Kirshenbaum, who's very talented.
-
Major vibes for the sister of DR TCB!
-
Thanks George.

What did you think of it...if you remember?
-
Yesterday, I went to Subway and bought my sister and myself each a Cauliflower Fritter wrap. It doesn't seem to be on their website anymore, but you can find articles about them online. I really like it...it doesn't taste like (or have the texture of) cauliflower.
-
It had some nice songs but didn't really work.
-
I wrote a bit more, but have to stop. Five songs left, so I should be able to finish those in an hour tomorrow.
-
Hugh Jackman is an at-home guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden. At times, his son is just wandering around the back of the Hugh's room looking for something. :D

😄
-
I'm still awake! Why?? But no longer. 8)
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I could not get to sleep last night, and when I finally did, I slept quite poorly. It was chilly all day yesterday yet the apartment was too warm, for sleeping.
-
I am feeling quite tired today.
-
I got a call from my best friend from college who now lives in London. I think he's getting stir crazy.
-
When he moved to NYC after college, he was assistant to the costume designer Jane Greenwood. He designed the costumes for the Off-Broadway production of Vanities and lived quite well off the rotyalries for some time.
-
I did not get to Staples yesterday. Maybe tomorrow.
-
Good morning, all.

Good morning, all.
-
Friday. Wet. Chilly. An indoors type of day.
-
I slept okay but I woke way too early, and there was no going back to sleep.
My main dream was something else. Not really describable. It actually occurred prior to a brief 3:18 a.m. wakeup.
And so it goes.
-
Huge vibes for TCB's sister.
A friend here, a young man in his thirties who was a major force in our Smorgasbord cast, is diabetic. A couple of weeks after the show closed we were informed that he was in the ICU with ketoacidosis. It took them several days to get him back into balance, and he was sent home, whereupon we subsequently learned that he also struggles with clinical depression and now he's having a rough go at that. Altogether, it ain't no walk in the park.
-
Last night, I finished the first draft of the latest one-person play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection.
Now, I sit on it for a week, let my wife read it, then I'll look at it again.
-
We watched ARSENIC AND OLD LACE with Cary Grant last night.
When I interviewed Grant decades ago, he told me that he hated that picture, but I love it. I think it's timeless; one of the great American comedies.
I've sen it twice on stage:
1. In Seattle at the old Cirque Playhouse with Jane Darwell.
2. On Broadway with my late publicity client, Abe Viigoda.
-
So what are in my players, you ask.
THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE is in line for this evening's viewing. Beyond that, who can say? I don't know about you, but I certainly cannot say.

Page Two.
DR ELMORE thanks for that CANDIDE I saved it to watch at my lay-sure.......
-
Thanks to MR BK for his answer to my question.
I am looking at a couple of scripts including MUCH ADO ABOUT MURDER which looks kind of funny......
-
This damned virus is getting too close for comfort. My friends Danny Burstein and his wife Rebecca have come through it, and this morning at 4:45 it murdered my friend Richard Galgano, who had been homebound and in frail health for some time. Richard was one of the administrators of the Facebook page "Vintage New York Stage."
-
Today at Ye Olde YoueTubee - the National The-yater is streaming its production of FRANKENSTEIN beginning NEXT Thursday.
It stars Benwa Cucumber and should be quite popular with the populace. He plays the Creature for a week or so, and then he switches parts with Jonny Lee Miller who plays Victor F. the next week..... 8)
-
I'm very sorry to hear about your friend Richard, DR Elmore.
-
Sad DR ELMORE.......yesterday there were a lot of repeat and shared posts about how the virus effects the human body that were most alarming.....
-
Danny Burstein's writing of his experience is amazing and sobering.
-
I think today is ARBOREAL Day....in the US.
-
The government still has my money in its hands.....Where my money At?
-
I was quite happy that kitty cleanup went so well when I got the news about Richard. What a blow. Richard lived on West 81st and Columbus, and when he became homebound several years ago, he hosted birthday gatherings for me and other friends. They were fun.
-
So sorry about the loss of your friend, Elmore. But its also good to know Rebecca has come through her bout with COVID given her other health problems.
-
TOD:
Im going to pick up a long story again this weekend. Im leaning toward Jean de Florette/Manon of the Springs.
-
Good morning!

I enjoyed several of those. Thank you. She is actually fairly good at keeping up with Michel Legrand even though she speaks little French.
-
Not quite up after five hours, thanks to an allergy attack, which I knew was coming with yet more changes in the weather, especially extreme heat.
-
Partly cloudy today and rain tomorrow.....

I am watching the clock because I have a frozen pizza in the oven.

You're welcome, DR John G. I loved seeing the clip of "The Summer Knows." I was at that concert and was thrilled that she sang it.
-
I'm sorry about your friend, DR elmore.
-
The momma cat watched while I watered this morning. I brought out a dish of food and she hissed at me for getting too close. But I came back later and the plate had been cleaned.
-
I had an allergy attack earlier this week. Not fun. Vibes its over soon.
-
Frozen pizzas have come a long way. I'm currently trying to resist the urge to have Cheesecake Factory's spicy chicken with cashews over rice. Might save that as a treat for the weekend and be a good boy today, either something here or two regular Jersey Mike's - one for day, one for night.
-
Lets move on ...
-
Three!
-
So sorry about the loss of your friend, Elmore. But its also good to know Rebecca has come through her bout with COVID given her other health problems.
Well, I don't know that she has, beyond what Danny posted.
-
Is everybody drinking a nice cup of Lysol with lunch? :)
-
I loved what a commentator on CNN said: The President is now telling us that he didn't tell us what he just told us.
-
No more sleep for me. Doing a rehearsal via Zoom at eleven. Pill has kicked in so I'm not feeling terrible.
-
Breaking news. Trump lied. Film at 11.
-
The wonderful Rick Unterberg. passed away of COVID complications - his clever spoof creations included "Golda Meir, My Eye" and "If You'd-a been Judah Ben Hur". but lots of wonderful non-spoof songs, and the piano bar pianist at the Town House since it opened in 1990.
-
Indiana totals.
13,680 cases - 741 deaths - 128 cases in my county.
-
Stella and I had a nap. Then I spoke to Joshie on the phone, and we discussed the idiot calling himself a president. I do wonder if any of his idiot followers have taken a dose of Lysol or Clorox. I really don't know why any network keeps broadcasting his complete and utter stupidity.

The cats are showing signs of impatience with my preparing their dinners.
-
Paperback arrived and looks fantastic. Hopefully, hardcover will follow soon, then I can place the order.
-
Jersey Mike's for food. Will be here in thirty minutes.
-
The momma cat watched while I watered this morning. I brought out a dish of food and she hissed at me for getting too close. But I came back later and the plate had been cleaned.
I am glad she ate.

I have found (for me...your mileage will vary) that the difference between a not-so-great frozen pizza and a better-than-not-so-great frozen pizza is extra cheese. Helps every time. ;)

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend, Elmore. This is a nasty enemy.

I hope your sister is doing better, TCB.

My work week has finally come to an end. Thank goodness. It was as if someone stepped on the accelerator today.

Love Never Dies, the Phantom sequel, is the free ALW show this weekend. If you want to see it, try before 2 p.m. CT Sunday. Apparently the weekend is set by British time.
-
I'm listening to Hey, Mister! Thinking Tractor?
Ford Tractor Musicals. They're not too far from the Soviet tractor musicals I remember, like Volga, Volga. All the world's a tractor musical. Or something like that.
"Hay ain't the only green stuff you're makin' ... Makin' hay with Ford!"

I'm sorry about your friend DR Elmore.

It seems logical to me. It seems they could have at least prevented spreading the virus while they protested. Really, hair salons? Think about the hair stylist breathing on your face while doing your hair. Thank you, I will wait longer to get mine done unless major precautions are taken.
-

I have yet to see or hear or read one word or note of that. I've never even been able to imagine such a sequel.
That having been said, who the hell knows what I'll be tempted to do by Sunday morning. Right?

Sending vibes and prayers for Toms sister
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I'm sorry about the loss of your friend, Elmore.
-
Vibes to TCB's sister and all who need them.
-
Yesterday I had a long talk with my PCP's office manager. I told her of my frustrations with a staff who know nothing or know very little, and even then it's contradictory. One of the nurses called me a few weeks ago and said my long-overdue appointment had been cancelled. No reason given and no matter what I asked she replied, "I don't know." Many of us have longstanding health issues and need treatment. I feel they need to give us some options. A telephone visit? A date when we might reschedule? But something. The manager said they are available to us, but they're not! I don't know how persuasive I was, but it was really bugging me and maybe she was able to see things from a patient's point of view.
-
DR Jeanne best of vibes you get the treatments you need. I fully understand your frustration as I too have been left dangling with things.
-
Continued good vibes for the sister of DR TCB!
-
Danny Burstein's writing of his experience is amazing and sobering.
Agreed.
-
Then, today, I saw a new chiropractor. I heard last week that there was someone who had not closed his office, who was still seeing patients. I'm not allowed to see my osteopath due to social distancing--but he does see suspected Covid patients in person--and my condition has gotten quite a bit worse over the last few weeks. I can only do so much on my own. I had to balance the risk of possible Covid exposure against the clear reality of degradation of an existing condition. He's quite willing to see patients and the building is kept very clean. He's highly trained and understood my situation completely. He's expensive, though, and I have to pay for treatment that is covered under my insurance, but only if I receive it from the osteopath who I am not permitted to see. Annoying, to be sure, but I think he'll be able to help me.
-
DR Jeanne best of vibes you get the treatments you need. I fully understand your frustration as I too have been left dangling with things.
Thanks, Jane. I do understand that Covid is extremely challenging, but I also feel that non-Covid patients have been shunted aside. Even if they can't make room for us they need to at least be honest and tell us what the situation is. I know what's happening in NY; I don't know what's happening here.
-
Indiana totals.
13,680 cases - 741 deaths - 128 cases in my county.
We have now surpassed your county in one day we had 129 new cases in one day we are up to 287. With the county across the river we are at 582. Rising faster and faster. It's the meat processing plants, but they won't close them because it would mess up the food chain, so...
-
The IRS website says that my check will be mailed today....so I guess I am scheduled to be stimulated by the mailman.
More power to you, they still say they haven't decided when I will get mine
-
The manager did tell me that part of the problem is insufficient PPE. That does not bode well for my upcoming surgery.
-
The treatment left me kind of knocked out and I can't keep my eyes open.
Stay safe, everyone.

-
DR Jeanne, vibes you get the treatment you need.

Vibes to TCB's SISTER~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
DR Elmore, so sorry about your friend
-
I got 8 hours of sleep last night and am feeling better. My allergies were bothering me so I turned on the AC and was able to breathe a lot better.
-
I went to the office to pick up a fax and man it smelled good in there. I think the cleaning people may have cleaned my carpet while I was gone. It had smelled musty but now it just smells fresh. I miss going there, but I'm going to stay home especially since the cases are really spiking right now.
-
Chloe, the 15 year old cat who's second cat mom died of cancer, was taken to the Humane Society. I feel guilty for not taking her. She was featured on one of their videos and has just been there a day or two. The HS has an adoption rate of close to 100% so I'm not that worried, but have secretly decided if she's still there mid-week I'll go adopt her.
-
Richard was excited when I told him, Boo gave me a stink eye

We just arranged for a video chat through Messenger for tomorrow. It seems everyone wants to use FaceTime which we can't do on Keith's computer & my iPhone is way too small to see anything.

Dinner
-
Vixdads dinner
-
My dinner was leftovers. Leftover spinach mixed with strawberries into a salad and a leftover piece of chicken that sort of bored me.
-
Just finished a French movie from 1942 called Le Marriage de Chiffon. It was delightful. I'm finding this whole set of Claude Autant-Lara movies to be the best surprise I've had in a long time.
-
I'm now starting Tom Brown's Schooldays, which I hope will be fun. For some reason, I could never get into the book.
-
To create a tradition after War and Peace last week, I've decided to watch one of my epics each Saturday. I'm finding more than I thought in my to-watch stack. Got a nine-hour German miniseries, at least two 5.5-hour Swedish series, Once Upon a Time in America, the new Forsyte Saga, Francois Truffaut's Antoine Doinel series, Lonesome Dove, Burt Lancaster in The Leopard ... who knows what all else.
I wouldn't have had unbroken time to watch these before. Tomorrow is Jean de Florette/Manon of the Springs.
-
Your dinner looks wonderful, Vixmom.

Sorry.
Thanks. Today the NYT said Sioux City has the highest growth rate of cases of anywhere in the US. Not a stat I'm pleased about
-
Don't know if I mentioned it, but tomorrow I'm going to go see if I can find the eagle's nest a friend told me about. He said there are three little ones. Hope I can see them

Well, Tom Brown's Schooldays is not turning out to be fun. It's a cruel, sadistic story of bullying in a boys school. It's over in 13 minutes.

Today, I went to Eagan's and had my usual Deluxe Cheeseburger and was able to say hi to my friend Judy who works there. After that, I got gas at Costco. It was $2.19/gallon. We're not under $2.00, yet. :P

I just left it there. :)

That's hysterical! :))
I'm still laughing out loud at that.

Well, last week, my library seemed to be gearing up for reopening. The new titles included books, movies and the usual mix of books on CD, music CDs and digital options. Not this week. There are two titles, only two, and both are digital downloads. So, I have to wait on placing a hold on the new Stephen King. Bummer.

Beautiful moth, George.

Well, today I got an e-mail from work saying, "Thank you for your patience during this time. I know it is getting close to May 5th, which was the day we had slated for staff to return to work. At this time we are extending this date to May 18th." :o

That's not when the buildings will open to the public: "When curbside service begins (now slated for June 1), some libraries will remain closed."
-
Laura, I love the photo of young Sandra with Michael Crawford.
She must have been quite pleased!

And I still can't return the three or four items I have checked out. The drop boxes are sealed off.
-
good night, all.
-
I watched Phantom Of The Opera last weekend, followed by Love Never Dies tonight.
Even though they receive mixed reviews, they never fail to make me cry.
-
Vibes for TCBs sister.
-
Sorry about the loss of your friend, Larry.
-
I'm up, I'm up - oh, wait...
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Second sandwich eaten. Both weren't as good as usual.

Is anyone here planning to stream Sondheims 90th birthday celebration on Sunday night?
-
Rehearsed with Kerry today on Zoom - can't remember if I mentioned that. It worked fine.
-
The Sondheim celebration will be streamed online at 8:00PM EST on Sunday night on Broadway.coms YouTube channel.
Impressive lineup of performers.

Same here. ALL due dates for all items have been extended, including any and all Interlibrary Loans...one of which I actually have.

I definitely want to see that!

Really looking forward to watching Kritzerland zoomed right into my home!
😊

George, you cant even begin to imagine the Broadway stars who will be performing on Sunday night.
Check out Broadway.com.
I cant wait!

Good night, all.

After everyone made fun of Trump about all the Lysol talk, Chris Cuomo's wife revealed she's bathing in a solution that includes some Clorox.
I kept looking for proof that that's a spoof report, but it looks real!

I don't have to imagine! I've read about who's going to be performing.

Listening to music and cooling down the house, which I hate doing but it was 84-degrees. As soon as it's down to 75 I'll shut off the air.

George really nice photos of the moth

Don't know if I mentioned it, but tomorrow I'm going to go see if I can find the eagle's nest a friend told me about. He said there are three little ones. Hope I can see them
Good luck.

Here's a picture with its wings open:
Pretty.

My book group might try a Zoom meeting. Was it easy to set up and did you need to pay something?
-
Some people in my group think we will be able to use the clubhouse by May 4th. I personally do not plan to hang out in our small clubhouse.
-
Think I'll take a quick drive - still too warm here but I can't sit and let the air blow on me.
-
Just finessed all the patter.

Boy, isn't that the truth!

I read about her "interesting " treatments. I now know that done correctly bleach baths can help certain bacterial skin problems. Of course the key is knowing how to do it safely and not to burn your skin or poison yourself. I don't think it will help with a virus.
-
Just watched Love Never Dies. I hadn't seen it before and I have to say it really wasn't my cup of tea. But they had good voices.
-
Funny, Boo has been upset ever since I said something about another cat. When I finally told her I wouldn't do it, she calmed down and curled up on my lap. Sometimes I think they understand English

Condolences to elmore on the passing of his friend!

The IRS website says that my check will be mailed today....so I guess I am scheduled to be stimulated by the mailman.
In that case, I would hope it is a maleman

Today at Ye Olde YoueTubee - the National The-yater is streaming its production of FRANKENSTEIN beginning NEXT Thursday.
It stars Benwa Cucumber and should be quite popular with the populace. He plays the Creature for a week or so, and then he switches parts with Jonny Lee Miller who plays Victor F. the next week..... 8)
I saw this in the movies last year it was a Fathom event. I saw the version where Cumberbatch was the doctor
Thank you, vixmom, for translating Jacks post! I hadnt the slightest idea who Benwa was!
-
Thank you all for the vibes for my sister. I feel I have exceeded my yearly vibe quota this week.
-
I talked to my sister this afternoon. They have removed the insulin drip, but she is still getting injections. She said she was feeling better, but she had definitely misplaced half the deck she was using. Hopefully a little better tomorrow.

Dinner
What is that vixmom, it looks good.

Great news...about her feeling better!

My dinner was leftovers. Leftover spinach mixed with strawberries into a salad and a leftover piece of chicken that sort of bored me.
My dinner was leftovers, too. I had sliced turkey and scalloped potatoes.

Just because.
Thanks, John! One can never see too many pictures of the World's Sexiest Man Alive...even if he is surrounded by a bunch of scantily clad ladies! ;)
What ladies?
