And speaking of The Big Lebowski (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G2CJLNN/), I had actually borrowed a co-worker's DVD...sometime last year. ::) I've had it all this time and have never watched it.  Now that I've purchased it for myself, I still might not watch it, but I won't feel guilty about having borrowed it from someone.  I can at least give back my co-worker's DVD. ;D

DR JohnG, I see that Julian Fellowes also has a film version of The Wind in the Willows in the works.  I think I will pass on this Drewe-Stiles musical version.  After their (Fellowes-Stiles-Drew) appalling work on Mary Poppins, I've had enough of their forays into musical theatre.

For the past couple of days I've been worried about Thatch: he's not been eating with his usual enthusiasm.  Usually, once he cleans up his bowl, he attacks Annabelle's and Stella's leftovers.  I didn't know if he were sick or if he was going though a health issue.

This morning, happily, he ate his breakfast and then proceeded to polish off the leftovers of the other two.  I breathe easier now.

All omens bode to a shitty day for me:
  1. Facebook ban
  2. Rain and humidity are affecting my hips and knees
  3. Stella escaped the apartment after shredding a roll of toilet paper.

It is always so unnerving when pets aren't eating or acting normal.  Glad that Thatch seems to be back to his routine.

I had to bring up a laundry cart to tote everything to the basement: 4 pillows, laundry supplies, four loads of laundry, and the walker.  There is a 1/2 inch rise between my door and the hall and I had to fight a full cart while I tried to lift it over the rise into the hall.  Stella ran between the legs into the hall, and by the time I got to the elevator, she was no longer on three.

Sorry about FB.

~~~DISCOMFORT BEGONE VIBES~~~ for you!
Thanks! I went down to remove things from the washers and one was unbalanced.  There's no way to repair this without unplugging the washer, let it reset, and plug it back in.  So I had to wash the contents again, this time with a few towels and pillowcases to hopefully keep things on balance.
As to FB, I know one thing now: it's a person who's out to get me, not some preogram looking for words like "white trash," "assassinate," or "cracker" (as in Georgia).  This could be someone on myt friends list or someone in a group where I post.  Who knows?
I’m listening to a very funny book called My Year of Rest and Relaxation. It’s 2000, and the main character has dropped out of living. In her drug-induced blackouts, weird things happen that she has no memory of. One is opening her front door to discover a delivery of Sidney Pollock movies on VHS.
I just made myself a "hamburger patty and eggs" breakfast that came out very well, if I say so myself. And since no one else is going to say it, I just did. No hash browns in the house, but the eggs, the patty with cheese, tomato slices, toast, and two (count 'em) cups of coffee are doing their job.
It was what I needed.
DR Elmore:  USPS tracking on your DVDs still shows in transit with delivery tomorrow.
I've been checking because it seems like this one is longer than usual for a small First Class parcel between Danbury and NYC. We're talking 60-70 miles here. Don't know if that's another new normal, or a reflection of everything else going on these days.
So my latest blood labs showed a severe iron deficiency (who knew?) and the doctor asked me to take a normal over-the-counter iron supplement. I went to the pharmacy and got what they had. Then I looked at the dosages. To take what the doctor wants, I'd have to take TWELVE of these buggers every day.  TWELVE!  That seems crazy to me. I've ordered the correct 1-pill per day dosage online. I'm not going to be able to go near anything metal, I think.
Ten minutes before I was going to do what I put off yesterday - make tracks of all this music I've been doing - the doorbell rang.  I thought about not answering but I did - a tree guy saying they had to trim the trees back from the power line.  I just went off on him, I'm afraid, saying it was the fourth time in two weeks they've disrupted my life and I was tired of it - that I needed a day's notice if they're ever to come back and what were they doing two weeks ago when they trimmed away from the power line.  No answer of course.  So, I started doing what I needed to do and got through about fifty minutes when they turned on that confounded loud machine that makes powder out of all the branches they've trimmed.  So, I had to stop and wait - fortunately, it looked like they trimmed all of six branches, so they finished and finally left and I finished my stuff.
I got a tetanus shot in one arm and a shingles shot in the other. Both arms are very sore and fight back if I try to raise them.
Is that the first or the second shingles shot?
The first. I know, the joy continues.
John G., take ibuprofen every four hours for several days. Even if you don't think you need it. It will help keep the swelling down.
That shingles shot is going to make you feel achy and tired tomorrow. Don't plan on doing anything this weekend.
I don’t have much planned. That’s good.
DR John super vibes you do not have a reaction to either vaccination, aside from your arms, especially the shingles one.
Not yet.
Are they sure of what causes yours?
Yes: excess of uric acid, lack of citric acid, and excess of oxelate. Go figure.
You should use lots of lemon in your water. Makes the stones smoother as you pass them.
And now for something completely different...this is pretty cool!  Chill To The Newest Musical Genre: Library Takeout Jams (https://www.cracked.com/index.php/article_28781_chill-to-newest-musical-genre-library-takeout-jams.html)!  If you scroll down to the last of the four videos featured, it's from Timberland Regional Library!  I had nothing to do with this, but the article wrote this about TRL's video:
But for my money, the real sleeper hit has to be "Library Takeout at the Curbside" by Timberland Regional Library's Erin McAdams and Eli Dayley, whose take on "When Doves Cry" not only features the cardboard cutout formerly known as Prince, but also finds a way to make picking up books in your car sound as sexy as Prince's guitar riffs.
:D
It is strange I cannot get my response "good" outside of the quote box.
What changes do you have to make, Singdaw?
Meds to decrease uric acid, lemon juice or citrus supplements to increase the citric acid, drinking lots more water, and diet to decrease the oxelates (no spinach, beets, sweet potatoes, or nuts). Apparently.
I don't eat beets but I would miss the other foods.
Just got the results of my urine analysis. I need to make a lot of changes to get my body to stop producing kidney stones and bladder stones. Yikes.
Are they sure of what causes yours? there are six or seven different types of kidney stones. Not a one size fits all.
Mine are (mostly) caused by calcium, so for twenty years I went without dairy products.  Except for cheese.  I pretended I didn’t know that cheese was dairy.
Two very painful vaccinations at once.  Try icing your arms.
Why?  You won’t even ice your cookies.
Sydney Pollack
Three Days of the Condor
The Slender Thread
Tootsie
THE SLENDER THREAD was a good film that was based on a true story that was originally published in Life Magazine.  It was filmed on location in Seattle, except the story didn’t take place in Seattle, but in Tacoma instead.  So, when we went to see the movie every time she would go some place in Seattle, we would all say, “No, that is supposed to be here or there.”
We were young, and we didn’t often have stories that took place in T-town.
